Ashdown Engineering was established in 1997 and at first produced Bass amplifiers, once established the company moved into Guitar amplification to complete the range.Mark Gooday the Owner of Ashdown has a history of producing some of the finest amplifiers available in both genres and has a heritage extending as far back as 1983, with a heritage in British made amplification, Ashdown believe their product’s provenance is of the utmost importance.

Ashdown started with Handmade High end products: Peacemaker 100 and 60 Heads, Cotton Club and Speakeasy Combos. The range expanded rapidly to include more affordable models such as the Peacemaker 60, 40 and 20 combos and Fallen angel Variants that boasted higher gains and DFX.Next came the Mofo range,

The lunch-box style 30 being the most notable example, Achieving iconic status in the tone aficionados handbook in a space of only a few years.

The team also includes the renowned valve amplifier expert, Dave Green as their chief electronics engineer and amp designer. Dave alone has over a quarter of a century of experience in building quality valve amplifiers, having previously worked for some of the best high end manufacturers in the business.

The design philosophy behind the latest range is explained as follows: the new AGM ( Ashdown Guitar Magnifier ) range has been created to full fill the need for Quality Amplification that has the versatility demanded by today’s players whilst retaining the reliability of products of yesteryear . Tonally the range is versatile ,being suitable for use “ as is ” for Genuine Tube tones or in combination with the vast array of pedals available today for more variations.

Dave explains:

“ Anything I have had a hand in is designed from the outset to repairable should the need ever arise, as with the bass amplifiers the products are built from discrete components with almost all the active components socket mounted for an easy fix. In the case of the new AGM range just look inside, all the parts from quality manufacturers, are over specified to enable them to perform for a design life of over 15 years. I believe consumers still aspire to purchase top quality long lasting products with a high residual resale value. Quality never goes out of fashion but it does have to be affordable and the AGM range manages to combine these two conflicting requirements effectively.”

ASHDOWN AGM - 30-OSH -30 Watt Valve HeadWith 4 x EL84 output valves is a truly timeless rock guitar amplifier head is Inspired by

the best British valve amps of the 60s and 70s. With a clearly defined tone and headroom

for a 30 watt amplifier .the amplifier is also capable of serious gain and distortion tones

without going overboard. The chassis which houses all the components including the

oversized transformers is housed in a plywood traditional style head cabinet.

ASHDOWN AGM - 484H -30 Watt Valve HeadAt the heart of new Ashdown Guitar Magnifier 484H Head lies the Much loved and sought

after tone of the Mofo 30. Together with twin master volumes ,4 X EL84 provide the 30

watts output and ECC83s power the pre-amplifier sections. The unit features a tube

driven and recovered effects loop. The 484 is housed in an all steel case of diminutive

proportions for a truly portable studio /stage head.

ASHDOWN AGM - 284C -1x12” 15 Watt Valve ComboWith 2 x EL84 valves for 15 watts output is portable, powerful and simple to use guitar

amp in an uncomplicated format. Also featuring the aforementioned Creamback speaker

the amplifier is equipped with a genuine Belton digital reverb

ASHDOWN AGM - 684C -1x12” 45 Watt ComboThe latest development of the “Peacemaker” series and features the same control layout

with two distinct channels and multiple master volumes . Internally a redesigned power

stage with 6 x EL84 power tubes produces great tone, gig after gig – with 45 watts of

smooth harmonically rich tone and six differing output power levels. A real Accutronics

tank tube driven reverb completes the feature set and again the combo is fitted with the

Celestion Creamback speaker as standard.

ASHDOWN AGM - 5C -1x12” 5 Watt ComboIdeal for practice, recording or small to club gigs the amplifier has just One EL84 and

one ECC83 making this pure class A. Whist a solid state pre-amplifier extends the tonal

range right into overdrive. A Belton digital reverb provides space around the sound when

required. Also housed in a plywood cabinet and fitted with the Celestion Creamback

speaker.

ASHDOWN AGM - 212 -2x12” CabinetUsing a plywood construction these cabinets feature Genuine Celestion Creamback

speakers of British manufacture, the 212 is a sealed cabinet with a removable lower

section if required.
