RIMES Experience in integrating climate products in National Institutions
Development and Implementation of an Integrated Ocean Information System for Indian
Ocean Countries with Integration of Climate /Weather Forecasts into Sector Users Decision
Making Systems.
INCOIS-RIMES-NMHSs Collaborative Framework
INCOIS • Customization of
forecast products • Refinement of
products based on users feedback
• Procurement and installation of Buoys
RIMES • Facilitate data from the
countries for customization of ocean forecast
• Facilitate the interpretation of the forecast products as per user requirements
• Establish data visualization and feedback mechanism
• Facilitate site survey and installation of Buoys
• Capacity building of NMHSs and user agencies
NMHSs • Assessment of user’s
need • Forecast
interpretation and issue advisories for specific users
• Feedback on the forecast
• Regular training programs for the potential users
Wave, Wave period, swell and other information critical for marine safety and operations to SIDS
• In collaboration with INCOIS, India. Operational in Maldives
Potential Fishing Zones
• To all coastal Member States
Coral Reef Health Monitoring
INTEGRATED OCEAN SERVICES: Indian ocean monitoring system
• Transfer to Comoros, Mozambique, Seychelles Sri Lanka and Tanzania, in
2014-16
