Think of a word that means the opposite of the word on your
paper. Look for a piece of paper under your chair, but dont tell
anyone what is on it!
Slide 4
Take Take turns saying the opposite word you thought of. The
The rest of the class will try to guess the positive word that is
on your paper.
Slide 5
Just as every word in this activity has an opposite, Satan has
a counterfeit or opposite teaching for every teaching of Jesus
Christ.
Slide 6
Following Heavenly Father brings us happiness; following Satan
brings us unhappiness.
Slide 7
What is the difference between how people feel when they tell
lies and how they feel when they tell the truth?
Slide 8
The more we learn about something, the more we can tell the
difference between that thing and its opposite.
Slide 9
The more we learn about and follow Jesus Christ, the more we
will be able to resist the temptations and deception of Satan.
Slide 10
In todays lesson, will learn about an opposite to Jesus
Christan anti-Christ. Anyone or anything that actively opposes
Jesus Christ (either openly or secretly) is an anti-Christ.
Slide 11
Lesson 20: Korihor, the Anti-Christ, Primary 4: Book of Mormon,
(1997),67 Korihor, Book of Mormon Stories, Ch.27
Slide 12
A man named Korihor came to Zarahemla. He did not believe in
Jesus Christ and preached that what the prophets had said about the
Savior was not true.
Slide 13
Korihor told the people they were foolish to believe that Jesus
would come to the earth and suffer for their sins.
Slide 14
He said people could not be punished for their sins because
there was no life after death. Many people believed Korihor.
TTTThey became wicked.
Slide 15
TTTThey tied him up and took him to Ammon, who forced him out
of the city. Korihor tried preaching to the people of Ammon, but
they would not listen.
Slide 16
Korihor went to the land of Gideon, but the people there would
not listen to him either. TTTThe chief judge sent him to Alma.
Slide 17
Korihor said he did not. Alma testified that there is a God and
that Christ would come. Alma asked Korihor if he believed in
God.
Slide 18
Korihor said he would believe in God if he saw a sign of Gods
power. Korihor wanted Alma to perform a miracle to prove there is a
God.
Slide 19
Alma told Korihor he had already seen many signs of Gods power
through the scriptures and the testimonies of all the
prophets.
Slide 20
Alma said the earth and everything on it and the movement of
the planets in the sky are also signs that there is a God.
Slide 21
Alma was sad because of Korihors wickedness and warned him that
his soul might be destroyed. Korihor still refused to believe.
Slide 22
AAAAfter Alma said this, Korihor could not speak. Korihor
Korihor still wanted a sign to prove there is a God. Alma Alma said
the sign from God would be that Korihor would not be able to
speak.
Slide 23
Korihor wrote that he knew this sign was from God and that he
had always known there is a God. He asked Alma to pray and remove
the curse.
Slide 24
Alma knew that if Korihor could speak he would lie again to the
people. Alma said the Lord would decide if Korihor would speak
again.
Slide 25
Korihor Korihor went from house to house, begging for food. The
Lord did not give Korihor back his speech.
Slide 26
The chief judge sent a letter throughout the land telling what
had happened to Korihor. HHHHe told those who had believed Korihor
to repent. TTTThe people repented.

This is a guide given to us by the prophet Moroni for judging
between good and evil (see Moroni 7:1517). Moroni 7:1517 Moroni

Lets review the Thirteenth Article of Faith We believe in being
honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to
all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul
We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many
things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is
anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we
seek after these things. Enr. Act. 2 mp3 wma wav

How can the Thirteenth Article of Faith be a guide for choosing
the right? Enr. Act. 2
Slide 44
President Ezra Taft Benson, the thirteenth President of the
Church, said this: There is a power in the [Book of Mormon] which
will begin to flow into your lives the moment you begin a serious
study of the book. You will find greater power to resist
temptation. You will find the power to avoid deception. You will
find the power to stay on the strait and narrow path (A Witness and
a Warning, pp. 2122). Enr. Act. 4
Slide 45
I bear testimony that we will not be deceived if we will keep
the commandments, follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost, study
the scriptures, and follow the living prophet.
