1. Foreword

This manual provides information and procedures to safely operateand maintain this Wacker model. For your own safety and protectionfrom injury, carefully read, understand and observe the safetyinstructions described in this manual.

Keep this manual or a copy of it with the machine. If you lose thismanual or need an additional copy, please contact WackerCorporation. 2. Emission Control System Information

Source of EmissionsThe combustion process produces carbon monoxide, oxides ofnitrogen, and hydrocarbons. Control of hydrocarbons and oxides ofnitrogen is very important because, under certain conditions, theyreact to form photochemical smog when subjected to sunlight. Carbonmonoxide does not react in the same way, but it is toxic.

Wacker utilizes lean carburetor settings and other systems to reducethe emissions of carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen, andhydrocarbons.

The U.S. and California Clean Air ActsEPA and California regulations require all manufacturers to furnishwritten instructions describing the operation and maintenance ofemission control systems.

The following instructions and procedures must be followed in order tokeep the emissions from your Wacker engine within the emissionsstandards.

Tampering and AlteringTampering with or altering the emission control system may increaseemissions beyond the legal limit. Among those acts that constitutetampering are:

•Removal or alteration of any part of the intake, fuel, or exhaustsystems.

•Altering or defeating the speed-adjusting mechanism to cause theengine to operate outside its design parameters.

Problems That May Affect EmissionsIf you are aware of any of the following symptoms, have your engineinspected and repaired by your servicing dealer.

•Hard starting or stalling after starting.

•Rough idle.

•Misfiring or backfiring under load.

•Afterburning (backfiring).

•Black exhaust smoke or high fuel consumption.

Replacement PartsThe emission control systems on your Wacker engine were designed,built, and certified to conform with EPA and California emissionsregulations. We recommend the use of genuine Wacker partswhenever you have maintenance done. These original-designreplacement parts are manufactured to the same standards as theoriginal parts, so you can be confident of their performance. The useof replacement parts that are not of the original design and quality mayimpair the effectiveness of your emission control system.

A manufacturer of an aftermarket part assumes the responsibility thatthe part will not adversely affect emission performance. Themanufacturer or rebuilder of the part must certify that use of the partwill not result in a failure of the engine to comply with emissionregulations.

MaintenanceFollow the maintenance schedule. Remember that this schedule isbased on the assumption that your machine will be used for itsdesigned purpose. Sustained high-load or high-temperature operation,or use in unusually wet or dusty conditions, will require more frequentservice.

OXYGENATED FUELS Some conventional gasolines are being blended with alcohol or anether compound. These gasolines are collectively referred to asoxygenated fuels. To meet clean air standards, some areas of theUnited States and Canada use oxygenated fuels to help reduceemissions.

If you use an oxygenated fuel, be sure it is unleaded and meets theminimum octane rating requirement.

Before using an oxygenated fuel, try to confirm the fuel’s contents.Some States / Provinces require this information to be posted on thepump.

The following are EPA-approved percentages of oxygenates:

ETHANOL - (ethyl or grain alcohol) 10% by volume. You may usegasoline containing up to 10% ethanol by volume. Gasoline containingethanol may be marketed under the name “Gasohol”.

MTBE - (methyl tertiary butyl ether) 15% by volume. You may usegasoline containing up to 15% MTBE by volume.

METHANOL - (methyl or wood alcohol) 5% by volume. You may usegasoline containing up to 5% methanol by volume, as long as itcontains cosolvents and corrosion inhibitors to protect the fuel system.Gasoline containing more than 5% methanol by volume may causestarting and/or performance problems. It may also damage metal,rubber, and plastic parts of your fuel system.

If you notice any undesirable operating symptoms, try another servicestation, or switch to another brand of gasoline.

Fuel system damage or performance problems resulting from the useof an oxygenated fuel containing more than the percentages ofoxygenates mentioned above are not covered under warranty.

EMISSIONS COMPONENT DEFECT WARRANTY COVERAGE

This emission warranty is applicable in all States, except the State ofCalifornia.

Wacker Corporation, N92 W15000 Anthony Avenue, MenomoneeFalls, WI 53051-1504, (herein "Wacker") warrant(s) to the initial retailpurchaser and each subsequent owner, that this non-road engine(herein "engine") has been designed, built, and equipped to conformat the time of initial sale to all applicable regulations of the U.S.Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and that the engine is free ofdefects in materials and workmanship which would cause this engineto fail to conform with EPA regulations during its warranty period.

For the components listed under PARTS COVERED, the servicedealer authorized by Wacker will, at no cost to you, make thenecessary diagnosis, repair, or replacement necessary to ensure thatthe engine complies with applicable U.S. EPA regulations.

EMISSISON COMPONENT DEFECT WARRANTY PERIOD

The warranty period for this engine begins on the date of sale to theinitial purchaser and continues for a period of 2 years.

Listed below are the parts covered by the Emission ComponentsDefect Warranty. Some of the parts listed below may requirescheduled maintenance and are warranted up to the first scheduledreplacement point for that part.

(1) Fuel Metering System

(i) Carburetor and internal parts (and/or pressure regulator or fuelinjection system).

(ii) Air/fuel ratio feedback and control system, if applicable.

(iii) Cold start enrichment system, if applicable.

(iv) Regulator assembly (gaseous fuel, if applicable) .

(2) Air Induction System

(i) Intake manifold, if applicable.

(ii) Air filter.

(3) Ignition System

(i) Spark plugs.

(ii) Magneto or electronic ignition system.

(iii) Spark advance/retard system, if applicable.

(4) Exhaust manifold, if applicable

(5) Miscellaneous Items Used in Above Systems

(i) Electronic controls, if applicable.

(ii) Hoses, belts, connectors, and assemblies.

OBTAINING WARRANTY SERVICE

To obtain warranty service, take your engine to the nearest authorizedWacker service dealer. Bring your sales receipts indicating date ofpurchase for this engine. The service dealer authorized by Wacker willperform the necessary repairs or adjustments within a reasonableamount of time and furnish you with a copy of the repair order. All partsand accessories replaced under this warranty become the property ofWacker.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED

• Conditions resulting from tampering, misuse, improper adjust-ment (unless they were made by the service dealer authorized by Wacker during a warranty repair), alteration, accident, failure to use the recommended fuel and oil, or not performing required maintenance services.

• The replacement parts used for required maintenance services.

• Consequential damages such as loss of time, inconvenience, loss of use of the engine or equipment, etc.

• Diagnosis and inspection charges that do not result in warranty-eligible service being performed.

• Any non-authorized replacement part, or malfunction of autho-rized parts due to use of non-authorized parts.

OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES

As the engine owner, you are responsible for the performance of therequired maintenance listed in your owner's manual. Wackerrecommends that you retain all receipts covering maintenance on yourengine, but Wacker cannot deny warranty solely for the lack of receiptsor for your failure to ensure the performance of all scheduledmaintenance. As the engine owner, you should however be aware thatWacker may deny warranty coverage if your engine or a part has faileddue to abuse, neglect, improper maintenance or unapprovedmodifications.

You are responsible for presenting your engine to the nearest servicedealer authorized by Wacker when a problem exists.

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE EMISSION CONTROLSYSTEM WARRANTY:

MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS

You are responsible for the proper maintenance of the engine. Youshould keep all receipts and maintenance records covering theperformance of regular maintenance in the event questions arise.These receipts and maintenance records should be transferred toeach subsequent owner of the engine. Wacker reserves the right todeny warranty coverage if the engine has not been properlymaintained. Warranty claims will not be denied, however, solelybecause of the lack of required maintenance or failure to keepmaintenance records.

MAINTENANCE, REPLACEMENT OR REPAIR OF EMISSIONCONTROL DEVICES AND SYSTEMS MAY BE PERFORMED BYANY REPAIR ESTABLISHMENT OR INDIVIDUAL; HOWEVER,WARRANTY REPAIRS MUST BE PERFORMED BY A SERVICEDEALER AUTHORIZED BY WACKER. THE USE OF PARTS THATARE NOT EQUIVALENT IN PERFORMANCE AND DURABILITY TOAUTHORIZED PARTS MAY IMPAIR THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THEEMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM AND MAY HAVE A BEARING ONTHE OUTCOME OF A WARRANTY CLAIM.

If other than the parts authorized by Wacker are used for maintenancereplacements or for the repair of components affecting emissioncontrol, you should assure yourself that such parts are warranted bytheir manufacturer to be equivalent to the parts authorized by Wackerin their performance and durability.

HOW TO MAKE A CLAIM

All repair qualifying under this limited warranty must be performed bya service dealer authorized by Wacker. In the event that any emission-related part is found to be defective during the warranty period, youshall notify WACKER CORPORATION Product Support Department(U.S.A. 1-800-770-0957, Canada 1-877-977-0775) and you will beadvised of the appropriate warranty service dealer or service providerswhere the warranty repair can be performed.

CALIFORNIA EMISSION CONTROL WARRANTY STATEMENT

YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS

The California Air Resources Board and Wacker Corporation (herein“Wacker”) are pleased to explain the emissions control systemwarranty on your small off-road engine. In California, new small off-road engines must be designed, built and equipped to meet the State'sstringent anti-smog standards. Wacker Corporation must warrant theemissions control system on your engine for the periods of time listedbelow provided there has been no abuse, neglect or impropermaintenance of your engine.

Your emission control system may include parts such as the carburetoror fuel-injection system, fuel lines and the ignition system. Alsoincluded may be hoses, clamps, connectors and other associatedcomponents.

Where a warrantable condition exists, a Wacker authorized servicecenter will repair your Wacker engine at no cost to you includingdiagnosis, parts and labor.

MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:

The emissions control system is warranted for two years. If anyemissions-related part on your engine is defective, the part will berepaired or replaced by Wacker.

OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the Wacker engine owner, you are responsible for the performanceof the required maintenance listed in your owner's manual. Wackerrecommends that you retain all receipts covering maintenance on yourWacker engine, but Wacker cannot deny warranty solely for the lack ofreceipts.

As the Wacker engine owner, you should however be aware thatWacker may deny you warranty coverage if your Wacker engine or apart has failed due to abuse, neglect, improper maintenance orunapproved modifications.

You are responsible for presenting your Wacker engine to a Wackerdealer or service center as soon as a problem exists. The warrantyrepairs should be completed in a reasonable amount of time, not toexceed 30 days.

If you have any questions regarding your warranty rights andresponsibilities, you should contact your local Wacker equipmentdealer, service center or the WACKER CORPORATION ProductSupport Department (U.S.A. 1-800-770-0957, Canada 1-877-977-0775) for the information.

GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE

- California Only -

Wacker warrants to the ultimate purchaser and each subsequentpurchaser that this small off-road engine (1) has been designed, builtand equipped so as to conform with all applicable regulations; and (2)is free from defects in materials and workmanship that cause thefailure of a warranted part to conform with those regulations as may beapplicable to the terms and conditions stated below.

A. The warranty period begins on the date the engine is delivered to anultimate purchaser or first placed into service. The warranty period istwo years.

B. Subject to certain conditions and exclusions as stated below, thewarranty on emissions related parts is as follows:

1) Any warranted part that is not scheduled for replacement asrequired maintenance in your owner’s manual is warranted for thewarranty period stated above. If the part fails during the period ofwarranty coverage, the part will be repaired or replaced byWacker according to subsection (4) below. Any such partrepaired or replaced under warranty will be warranted for theremainder of the period.

2) Any warranted part that is scheduled only for regular inspectionin your owner’s manual is warranted for the warranty periodstated above. Any such part repaired or replaced under warrantywill be warranted for the remaining warranty period.

3) Any warranted part that is scheduled for replacement as requiredmaintenance in your owner’s manual is warranted for the periodof time before the first scheduled replacement date for that part.If the part fails before the first scheduled replacement, that partwill be repaired or replaced by Wacker according to subsection(4) below. Any such part repaired or replaced under warranty willbe warranted for the remainder of the period prior to the firstscheduled replacement point for the part.

4) Repair or replacement of any warranted part under the warrantyprovisions herein must be performed at a warranty station at nocharge to the owner.

5) Notwithstanding the provisions herein, warranty services or repairwill be provided at all of our distribution centers that arefranchised to service the subject engines.

6) The owner must not be charged for diagnostic labor that leads tothe determination that a warranted part is in fact defective,provided that such diagnostic work is performed at a warrantystation.

7) Wacker is liable for damages to other engine componentsproximately caused by a failure under warranty of any warrantedpart.

8) Throughout the engine warranty period stated above, Wacker willmaintain a supply of warranted parts sufficient to meet theexpected demand for such parts.

9) Any replacement part may be used in the performance of anywarranty maintenance or repairs and must be provided withoutcharge to the owner. Such use will not reduce the warrantyobligations of Wacker.

10) Add-on or modified parts that are not exempted by the AirResources Board may not be used. The use of any non-exempted add-on or modified parts by the ultimate purchaser willbe grounds for disallowing a warranty claim. Wacker will not beliable to warrant failures of warranted parts caused by the use ofa non-exempted add-on or a modified part.

C. Warranted Parts:

The repair or replacement of any warranted part otherwise eligible forwarranty coverage may be excluded from such warranty coverage ifWacker demonstrates that the engine has been abused, neglected, orimproperly maintained, and that such abuse, neglect, or impropermaintenance was the direct cause of the need for repair orreplacement of the part. That notwithstanding, any adjustment of acomponent that has a factory installed, and properly operating,adjustment limiting device is still eligible for warranty coverage. Thefollowing emissions warranty parts list are covered.

1) Fuel Metering System

i) Carburetor and internal parts (and/or pressure regulator or fuelinjection system).

ii) Air/fuel ratio feedback and control system, if applicable.

iii) Cold start enrichment system, if applicable.

iv) Regulator assembly (gaseous fuel, if applicable)

3. Safety Information

This manual contains DANGER, WARNING, CAUTION, NOTICE andNOTE callouts which must be followed to reduce the possibility ofpersonal injury, damage to the equipment, or improper service.

This is the safety alert symbol. It is used to alert you to potentialpersonal injury hazards. Obey all safety messages that follow thissymbol to avoid possible injury or death.

DANGER indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, willresult in death or serious injury.

WARNING indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, couldresult in death or serious injury.

CAUTION indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, couldresult in minor or moderate injury.

3.1 Laws Pertaining to Spark Arresters

Notice: State Health Safety Codes and Public Resources Codesspecify that in certain locations spark arresters be used on internalcombustion engines that use hydrocarbon fuels. A spark arrester is adevice designed to prevent accidental discharge of sparks or flamesfrom the engine exhaust. Spark arresters are qualified and rated bythe United States Forest Service for this purpose.

In order to comply with local laws regarding spark arresters, consultthe engine distributor or the local Health and Safety Administrator.

3.2 Operating Safety

Familiarity and proper training are required for the safe operation ofequipment! Equipment operated improperly or by untrained personnelcan be dangerous! Read the operating instructions contained in thismanual and familiarize yourself with the location and proper use of allcontrols. Inexperienced operators should receive instruction fromsomeone familiar with the equipment before being allowed to operatethe machine.

3.2.1 NEVER allow anyone to operate this equipment without propertraining. People operating this equipment must be familiar with therisks and hazards associated with it.

3.2.2 NEVER touch the engine or muffler while the engine is on orimmediately after it has been turned off. These areas get hot and maycause burns.

3.2.3 NEVER use accessories or attachments that are not recommended byWacker. Damage to equipment and injury to the user may result.

3.2.4 NEVER leave machine running unattended.

3.2.5 NEVER operate the machine in snow, rain, or standing water.

3.2.6 ALWAYS be sure operator is familiar with proper safety precautionsand operation techniques before using machine.

3.2.7 ALWAYS wear protective clothing appropriate to the job site whenoperating equipment.

3.2.8 ALWAYS wear hearing protection when operating equipment.

3.2.9 ALWAYS close fuel valve on engines equipped with one whenmachine is not being operated.

3.2.10 ALWAYS store the equipment properly when it is not being used.Equipment should be stored in a clean, dry location out of the reach ofchildren.

3.2.11 ALWAYS operate machine with all safety devices and guards in placeand in working order. DO NOT modify or defeat safety devices. DONOT operate machine if any safety devices or guards are missing orinoperative.

3.2.12 ALWAYS read, understand, and follow procedures in the Operator’sManual before attempting to operate the equipment.

3.3 Operator Safety while using Internal Combustion Engines

Internal combustion engines present special hazards during operationand fueling! Read and follow all warning instructions and safetyguidelines in this manual. Failure to follow warnings and safetyguidelines could result in severe injury or death.

3.3.1 DO NOT run the machine indoors or in an enclosed area such as adeep trench unless adequate ventilation, through such items asexhaust fans or hoses, is provided. Exhaust gas from the enginecontains poisonous carbon monoxide gas; exposure to carbonmonoxide can cause loss of consciousness and may lead to death.

3.3.2 DO NOT smoke while operating the machine.

3.3.3 DO NOT smoke when refueling the engine.

3.3.4 DO NOT refuel a hot or running engine.

3.3.5 DO NOT refuel the engine near an open flame.

3.3.6 DO NOT spill fuel when refueling the engine.

3.3.7 DO NOT run the engine near open flames.

3.3.8 ALWAYS refill the fuel tank in a well-ventilated area.

3.3.9 ALWAYS replace the fuel tank cap after refueling.

3.3.10 ALWAYS check the fuel lines and the fuel tank for leaks and cracksbefore starting the engine. Do not run the machine if fuel leaks arepresent or the fuel lines are loose.

3.3.11 ALWAYS keep the machine at least one meter (three feet) away fromstructures, buildings, and other equipment during use.

3.4 Service Safety

Poorly maintained equipment can become a safety hazard! In orderfor the equipment to operate safely and properly over a long period oftime, periodic maintenance and occasional repairs are necessary.

3.4.1 DO NOT attempt to clean or service the machine while it is running.Rotating parts can cause severe injury.

3.4.2 DO NOT crank a flooded engine with the spark plug removed ongasoline-powered engines. Fuel trapped in the cylinder will squirt outthe spark plug opening.

3.4.3 DO NOT test for spark on gasoline-powered engines if the engine isflooded or the smell of gasoline is present. A stray spark could ignitethe fumes.

3.4.4 DO NOT use gasoline or other types of fuels or flammable solvents toclean parts, especially in enclosed areas. Fumes from fuels andsolvents can become explosive.

3.4.5 ALWAYS keep the area around the muffler free of debris such asleaves, paper, cartons, etc. A hot muffler could ignite the debris andstart a fire.

3.4.6 ALWAYS replace worn or damaged components with spare partsdesigned and recommended by Wacker Corporation.

3.4.7 ALWAYS disconnect the spark plug on machines equipped withgasoline engines, before servicing, to avoid accidental start-up.

3.4.8 ALWAYS keep the machine clean and labels legible. Replace allmissing and hard-to-read labels. Labels provide important operatinginstructions and warn of dangers and hazards.

5. Operation

5.1 Recommended Fuel

This engine is certified to operate on automotive unleaded gasoline.Use only fresh, clean gasoline. Gasoline containing water or dirt willdamage fuel system.

5.2 Before Starting

5.2.1 Read and understand safety and operating instructions at beginning ofthis manual.

5.2.2 Check:

• Oil level in engine.

• Fuel level.

• Condition of air cleaner.

• Tightness of external fasteners.

5.3 To Start

5.3.1 Open fuel valve by moving lever down (a1).

Note: If engine is cold, move choke lever to close position (d2). Ifengine is hot, set choke to open position (d1).

5.3.2 Turn engine switch to “ON” (b2).

5.3.3 Open throttle by moving it slightly to left (c2).

5.3.4 Pull starter rope (e).

Note: If the oil level in the engine is low, the engine will not start. If thishappens, add oil to engine.

5.3.5 Open choke as engine warms (d1).

5.3.6 Open throttle fully to operate (c1).

5.4 To Stop


5.4.1 Reduce engine RPM to idle by moving throttle completely to right (c3).

5.4.2 Turn engine switch to “OFF” (b1).

6.2 Spark Plug


Clean or replace spark plug as needed to ensure proper operation.

The muffler becomes very hot during operation and remains hot for awhile after stopping the engine. Do not touch the muffler while it is hot.

Note: Refer to the Technical Data for the recommended spark plugtype and the electrode gap setting.

6.2.1 Remove spark plug and inspect it.

6.2.2 Replace plug if the insulator is cracked or chipped.

6.2.3 Clean spark plug electrodes with a wire brush.

6.2.4 Set the electrode gap (a).

6.2.5 Tighten spark plug securely.

NOTICE: A loose spark plug can become very hot and may causeengine damage.

6.3 Engine Oil


6.3.1 Drain oil while engine is still warm.

Note: In the interests of environmental protection, place a plastic sheetand a container under the machine to collect any liquid which drainsoff. Dispose of this liquid in accordance with environmental protectionlegislation.

6.3.2 Remove the oil drain plug (a).

6.3.3 Allow the oil to drain.

6.3.4 Install the drain plug.

6.3.5 Fill the engine crankcase through the oil filler opening (b), to the uppermark on the dipstick (c). Do not thread in the dipstick to check the level.See Technical Data for oil quantity and type.

6.3.6 When the crankcase is full, reinstall the dipstick.

6.4 Cleaning Fuel Strainer


6.4.1 To remove water and dirt, close the fuel lever and remove the fuelstrainer.

6.4.2 Inspect the fuel strainer (a) for water and dirt.

6.4.3 After removing any dirt and water, wash the fuel cup with anonflammable solvent.

6.4.4 Reinstall securely to prevent leakage.

6.5 Air Cleaner


NEVER use gasoline or other types of low flash point solvents forcleaning the air cleaner. A fire or explosion could result.

NOTICE: NEVER run engine without air cleaner. Severe enginedamage will occur.

The engine is equipped with a dual element air cleaner. Under normaloperating conditions, elements should be cleaned once every week.Under severe, dry and dusty conditions, the elements should bemaintained daily. Replace an element when saturated with dirt thatcannot be removed.

6.5.1 Remove the air cleaner cover (a). Remove the filter assembly bypulling it straight up. Inspect both elements for holes or tears. Replacedamaged elements.

6.5.2 Wash the foam element (b) in a solution of mild detergent and warmwater. Rinse it thoroughly in clean water. Allow the element to drythoroughly.

6.5.3 Tap the paper element (c) lightly to remove excess dirt or blowcompressed air through the filter from the inside out. Replace thepaper element if it appears heavily soiled.

6.6 Storage

If machine is being stored for more than 30 days:

6.6.1 Drain fuel from tank. Start engine and run until remaining fuel is used.

6.6.2 Remove spark plug. Pour approximately 5 cc of clean SAE 10W30engine oil into cylinder through spark plug opening. Pull starter ropeslowly to distribute oil in engine. Reinstall spark plug.

6.6.3 Change oil.

6.6.4 Cover engine and store in a clean, dry area.

2.1 Vorschriften über Funkenfänger

Anmerkung: Gesundheits- und Sicherheitsvorschriften sowiebestimme Gesetze für den Erhalt natürlicher Ressourcen aufstaatlichem Land verfügen, dass an manchen Orten Funkenfänger anVerbrennungsmotoren, die Kohlenwasserstoffkraftstoff verwenden,zulässig sind. Funkenfänger sind eine Vorrichtung, die eineunbeabsichtigte Funken- oder Flammenentladung aus dem Auspuffdes Motors verhindern. Funkenfänger sind vom amerikanischenForstministerium für diesen Zweck zugelassen.

Zur Einhaltung der lokalen Gesetze in Bezug auf Funkenfänger, denMotorhändler oder die örtliche Gesundheits- und Sicherheitsbehördekonsultieren.

2.2 Betriebssicherheit

Vertrautheit mit der Maschine und ordnungsgemäße Schulung sindVoraussetzungen für einen sicheren Betrieb. Maschinen, die falschoder von ungeschultem Personal betrieben werden, können eineGefahr darstellen. Die Bedienungsanleitungen in diesem Handbuchund im Motorenhandbuch durchlesen, um sich mit der Position undrichtigen Verwendung der Bedienelemente vertraut zu machen.Unerfahrene Bediener müssen von Personal, das mit der Maschinevertraut ist, eingewiesen werden, bevor sie die Maschine betreibendürfen.

2.2.1 NIEMALS zulassen, dass eine ungeschulte Person diese Maschinebetreibt. Das Bedienungspersonal dieser Maschine muss mit denRisiken und den mit dem Betrieb verbundenen Gefahren vertraut sein.

2.2.2 Den Motor oder Auspufftopf bei laufendem Motor nzw. kurz nachdessen Abschalten nicht berühren. Diese Bereiche werden heiß undkönnen Verbrennungen verursachen.

2.2.3 NIE Zubehör oder Zusatzteile verwenden, die nicht von Wackerempfohlen wurden. Es könnte zu Maschinenschäden undVerletzungen des Benutzers kommen.

2.2.4 Die Maschine NIEMALS unbeaufsichtigt laufen lassen.

2.2.5 NIEMALS Maschine in Schnee, Regen oder stehendem Wasserbetreiben.

2.2.6 IMMER sicherstellen, dass der Bediener mit den entsprechendenSicherheitsvorkehrungen und Betriebsverfahren vertraut ist, bevor dieMaschine verwendet wird.

2.2.7 Beim Betrieb der Maschine IMMER Schutzkleidung tragen, die derjeweiligen Arbeitsstätte entspricht.

2.2.8 IMMER beim Bedienen des Gerätes Gehörschutz tragen.

2.2.9 An Maschinen mit einem Kraftstoffventil ist dieses zu schließen, wenndie Maschine nicht in Betrieb ist.

2.2.10 Die Maschine IMMER ordnungsgemäß lagern, wenn sie nicht benutztwird. Die Maschine an einem sauberen, trockenen Ort und für Kinderunerreichbar lagern.

2.2.11 Die Maschine NUR dann betreiben, wenn alleSicherheitsvorrichtungen und Schutzbleche angebracht sind undfunktionieren. Die Sicherheitsvorrichtungen NICHT modifizieren oderaußer Kraft setzen. Die Maschine NICHT betreiben, wenn irgendeineSicherheitsvorrichtung oder ein Schutzblech fehlt oder nichtfunktioniert.

2.2.12 Vor Inbetriebnahme der Maschine IMMER erst die Verfahren in derBedienungsanleitung durchlesen und diese jederzeit beachten.

2.3 Sicherheit beim Gebrauch von Verbrennungsmotoren

Verbrennungsmotoren stellen während des Betriebs und beimAuftanken eine besondere Gefahr dar. Stets die Warnhinweise in derBedienungsanleitung des Motors und die Sicherheitsanleitungenweiter unten lesen und beachten. Andernfalls kann es zu schwerenoder gar tödlichen Verletzungen kommen.

2.3.1 Die Maschine NICHT in Innenräumen oder geschlossenen Bereichen,z. B. einem tiefen Graben, betreiben, außer es besteht adäquateLüftung durch Abluftventilatoren oder Schläuche. Motorabgaseenthalten giftiges Kohlenmonoxyd; der Aufenthalt in einerkohlenmonoxydhaltigen Umgebung kann zu Bewusstlosigkeit undzum Tod führen.

2.3.2 Während des Betriebs der Maschine NICHT rauchen.

2.3.3 Beim Auftanken der Maschine NICHT rauchen.

2.3.4 NICHT auftanken, wenn der Motor läuft oder noch heiß ist.

2.3.5 Die Maschine NICHT in der Nähe einer offenen Flamme auftanken.

2.3.6 Beim Auftanken der Maschine KEINEN Kraftstoff verschütten.

2.3.7 Die Maschine NICHT in der Nähe von offenen Flammen betreiben.

2.3.8 Den Kraftstofftank IMMER in einem gut ventilierten Bereich auffüllen.

2.3.9 Nach dem Auftanken STETS die Tankkappe wieder aufsetzen.

2.3.10 IMMER Kraftstoffleitung und Tank auf Undichtigkeit und Risseüberprüfen, und Gerät unter solchen Schäden nicht in Betriebnehmen.

2.3.11 IMMER während des Betriebs Maschine mindestens einen Meter vonEinrichtungen, Gebäuden, oder anderen Maschinen fernhalten.

2.4 Service-Sicherheit

Schlecht gewartete Maschinen können eine Gefahr darstellen! Nurregelmäßig und richtig gewartete und bei Bedarf reparierte Maschinenkönnen über lange Zeit hinweg sicher und und ordnungsgemäßbetrieben werden.

2.4.1 Die Maschine NICHT in laufendem Zustand reinigen, warten odereinstellen. Drehteile können schwere Verletzungen verursachen.

2.4.2 Einen überfluteten Benzinmotor NICHT ankurbeln, so lange dieZündkerze herausgenommen ist. Im Zylinder angestauter Kraftstoffspritzt aus der Zündkerzenöffnung heraus.

2.4.3 KEINEN Zündfunkentest an Benzinmotoren vornehmen, wenn derMotor überflutet oder Benzin zu riechen ist. Ein Streufunke könnte dieDämpfe entzünden.

2.4.4 KEIN Benzin oder andere Arten von Kraftstoff bzw. entflammbareLösungen zum Reinigen der Maschinenteile verwenden, besondersnicht in geschlossenen Bereichen. Die Dämpfe von Kraftstoffen undLösungen können explodieren.

2.4.5 Den Bereich um den Auspufftopf herum IMMER frei vonFremdsubstanzen, z. B. Blätter, Papier, Kartons usw. halten. Einheißer Auspufftopf könnte diese Substanzen entzünden und ein Feuerverursachen.

2.4.6 Abgenutzte oder beschädigte Bestandteile IMMER durch Ersatzteile,die von Wacker entwickelt und empfohlen wurden, ersetzen.

2.4.7 An Maschinen mit Benzinmotoren vor Wartungsarbeiten IMMER dieZündkerze herausnehmen, um ein unbeabsichtigtes Starten zuverhindern.

2.4.8 Die Maschine IMMER sauber halten und darauf achten, dass dieAufkleber leserlich sind. Alle fehlenden und schwer lesbaren Aufkleberersetzen. Die Aufkleber enthalten wichtige Bedienungsanleitungenund warnen vor Gefahren.

4. Betrieb

4.1 Empfohlener Kraftstoff

Dieser Motor ist für den Betrieb mit bleifreiem Automobilbenzinzertifiziert. Nur frisches, sauberes Benzin verwenden. Wasser- oderschmutzhaltiges Benzin verursacht Schäden am Kraftstoffsystem.

4.2 Vor dem Anlassen

4.2.1 Alle Sicherheitsanweisungen und Betriebs-anleitungen am Anfangdieser Betriebsvorschrift lesen und befolgen.

4.2.2 Prüfen:

• Motorölstand.

• Kraftstoffstand.

• Luftfilterzustand.

• Dichtigkeit aller äußeren Schraubverbindungen.

4.3 Anlassen

4.3.1 Benzinhahn zum Öffnen in senkrechte Stellung (a1) bringen.

Anmerkung: Bei kaltem Motor Chokehebel schliessen (d2). Beiwarmem Motor Choke öffnen (d1).

4.3.2 Motorschalter auf “ON” stellen (b2).

5.2 Zündkerze


Zündkerze je nach Bedarf reinigen oder ersetzen. SieheMotoranleitung.

Der Ausfpuff wird während des Betriebs sehr heiß und bleibt auchnach dem Abschalten des Motors noch eine Weile heiß. Den heißenAuspuff niemals anfassen.

Anmerkung: Für empfohlene Zündkerze und Elektrodenabstandsiehe Technische Daten.

5.2.1 Zündkerze entfernen und prüfen.

5.2.2 Ist der Isolator gerissen oder gesplittert, die Zündkerze ersetzen.

5.2.3 Zündkerzen-Elektroden mit einer Drahtbürste reinigen.

5.2.4 Elektrodenabstand einstellen (a).

5.2.5 Zündkerze einschrauben und festziehen.

HINWEIS: Eine lose Zündkerze kann sehr heiß werden und zuMotorschäden führen.

5.3 Motoröl


5.3.1 Öl ablassen solange Motor warm ist.

Anmerkung: Zum Umweltschutz soll unter die Maschine ein Behälterzum Auffangen der Flüssigkeit und eine wasserundurchlässige Foliezum Schutz des Bodens gelegt werden. Die Flüssigkeiten müssenentsprechend den einschlägigen Vorschriften entsorgt werden.

5.3.2 Ölablaßschraube (a) entfernen.

5.3.3 Öl auslaufen lassen.

5.3.4 Ablaßschraube wieder einsetzen.

5.3.5 Motorkurbelgehäuse durch Ölöffnung (b) mit vorgeschriebenem Öl biszur oberen Markierung am Ölmeßstab auffüllen (c). Dabei Meßstabnicht einschrauben. Für Ölmenge und Ölsorte siehe TechnischeDaten.

5.3.6 Nach Füllung Meßstab wieder einschrauben.

5.4 Reinigen des Kraftsftoff-Grobfilters


5.4.1 Zum Entfernen von Wasser und Schmutz den Kraftstoffhahnschließen und den Kraftstoff-Grobfilter entfernen.

5.4.2 Den Kraftstoff-Grobfilter (a) auf Wasser und Schmutz prüfen.

5.5 Luftfilter


NIEMALS den Luftfilter mit Benzin oder anderen Lösungsmitteln mitniedrigem Brennpunkt reinigen. Feuer- und Explosionsgefahr.

HINWEIS: NIEMALS Motor ohne Luftfilter laufen lassen. Führt zuschnellem Motorverschleiß

Der Motor ist mit einem zweiteiligen Luftfilter ausgestattet. Unternormalen Betriebsbedingungen sollten die Elemente einmal in derWoche gereinigt werden. Unter ungünstigen, trockenen und staubigenBedingungen müssen die Elemente täglich gewartet werden.Elemente, die mit Schmutz durchsetzt sind, der nicht entfernt werdenkann, müssen ersetzt werden.

5.5.1 Den Luftfilterdeckel (a) abnehmen. Den Filter gerade nach obenherausziehen. Beide Einsätze auf Löcher oder Risse inspizieren.Beschädigte Einsätze ersetzen.

5.5.2 Schaumgummieinsatz (b) mit warmem Wasser und milderWaschmittellösung waschen. Gründlich mit klarem Wasser ausspülenund ausgiebig trocknen lassen.

5.5.3 Papiereinsatz (c) durch leichtes Aufklopfen reinigen oder mit Pressluftvon innen nach aussen durchblasen. Einsatz ersetzen wenn starkeVerschmutzung offensichtlich zu erkennen ist.

5.6 Lagerung

Falls die Maschine länger als 30 Tage gelagert wird:

5.6.1 Kraftstofftank entleeren. Motor anlassen und laufen lassen bisKraftstoff aufgebraucht ist.

5.6.2 Zündkerze entfernen. Ca. 5 cc sauberes SAE 10W30 Motoröl durchdie Zündkerzenbohrung in den Zylinder gießen. Starterseil langsamherausziehen, um Öl im Motor zu verteilen. Zündkerze wiedereinschrauben.

5.6.3 Motoröl wechseln.

5.6.4 Motor ganz zudecken und an einem trockenen, sauberen Ortaufbewahren.

2.1 Leyes referentes a supresores de chispas

Aviso: Los Códigos de Seguridad Sanitaria Estatal y los Códigos deRecursos Públicos especifican que, en ciertos lugares, los supresoresde chispas se utilicen con los motores de combustión interna quefuncionan con combustibles de hidrocarburos. Un supresor de chispases un dispositivo diseñado para prevenir descargas accidentales dechispas o llamas de los tubos de escape de los motores. A tal fin, elServicio Forestal de los Estados Unidos (United States Forest Service)califica y cataloga los supresores de chispas.

2.2 Seguridad en la Operación

Para poder utilizar este equipo con seguridad es necesario que eloperador esté debidamente entrenado y familiarizado con él. Equiposque no sean utilizados apropiadamente o que sean utilizados porpersonas sin entrenamiento pueden ser peligrosos. Favor de leer lasinstrucciones de operación y de familiarizarse con los instrumentos ycontroles de esta máquina. Un personal conocedor del máquina debedar instrucciones adecuadas a operadores inexpertos acerca de laoperación del equipo antes de que se les permita operar este equipo.

2.2.1 NUNCA permita que cualquier persona sin entrenamiento adecuadoopere este equipo. Las personas que operan este equipo deben estarfamiliarizadas con los riesgos y peligros asociados al mismo.

2.2.2 NUNCA tocar el motor y el silenciador durante el funcionamiento delmotor o inmediatamente después de haberlo detenido. Estas áreas secalientan y pueden causar quemaduras.

2.2.3 NUNCA usar accesorios o aditamentos que no han sidorecomendados por Wacker. Puede ocurrir daño al equipo y aloperador.

2.3 Seguridad para el operador del motor

Los motores de combustión interna presentan especiales riesgosdurante la operación y el llenado de combustible. Lea y siga lasadvertencias en el manual del motor y las siguientes reglas deseguridad. La omisión de las siguientes reglas de seguridad descritasa continuación podrán provocar serios daños o muerte.

2.3.1 NUNCA haga marchar la máquina dentro de un edificio o en zonascerradas a menos que exista una ventilación adecuada como porejemplo ventiladores o mangueras de escape al exterior. Los gases deescape de motores contienen gases de monóxido de carbonovenenosos; la inhalación de monóxido de carbono puede causar lapérdida de conocimiento pudiendo conducir a la muerte.

2.3.2 NO fumar durante la operación de la máquina.

2.3.3 NO fumar durante el abastecimiento de combustible.

2.3.4 NO rellenar combustible en motores en marcha o calientes.

2.3.5 NO rellenar combustible cerca de fuego abierto.

2.3.6 NO salpicar combustible durante el llenado del tanque de combustible.

2.3.7 NO operar la máquina cerca de fuego abierto.

2.3.8 SIEMPRE rellene el tanque de combustible en un área bien ventilada.

2.3.9 SIEMPRE coloque la tapa del tanque de combustible después derellenar.

2.3.10 SIEMPRE comprobar, antes de arrancar el motor, que las tuberías yel tanque de combustible no presenten grietas o fugas. No ponga enmarcha la máquina si se ha derramado gasolina.

2.3.11 SIEMPRE mantenga el máquina alejado de estructuras, edificios yotros equipos en por lo menos un metro (tres pies) mientras que elmismo se encuentre en uso.

2.4 Seguridad de Mantenimiento

Equipo mal mantenido puede llegar a ser un riesgo de seguridad! Paraque el equipo opere en forma segura y apropiada durante un largoperíodo de tiempo, se hace necesario un periódico mantenimientopreventivo y ocasionales reparaciones.

2.4.1 NO intentar limpiar y hacer servicio al equipo en accionamiento. Laspartes en movimiento pueden causar serio daño.

2.4.2 NO arrancar un motor con el cilindro inundado con la bujía removidaen motores a gasolina. El combustible saltará violentamente haciaafuera por la abertura de la bujía.

2.4.3 NO probar existencia de chispa en bujías si el motor está inundado decombustible o hay vapores de gasolina presentes. Una chispa puedecausar la ignición de estos gases.

2.4.4 NO usar gasolina u otro tipo de solventes o combustibles inflamablespara limpiar partes, especialmente en áreas encerradas. Los gases deestos combustibles o solventes pueden acumularse y explotar.

2.4.5 SIEMPRE mantenga el área alrededor del silenciador libre de basuracomo hojas, papel, cartón, etc. Un silenciador caliente puedeencender éstas causando un incendio.

2.4.6 SIEMPRE reemplazar componentes gastados o dañados conrepuestos diseñados y recomendados por Wacker.

2.4.7 SIEMPRE desconectar la bujía en máquinas equipadas con motor agasolina, antes de hacer servicio para evitar el arranque accidental delmotor.

2.4.8 SIEMPRE mantenga limpio la máquina y las calcomanías legibles.Reponga calcomanías faltantes o difíciles de leer. Las calcomaníasproporcionan instrucciones importantes para la operación e informansobre riesgos y peligros.

4. Operación

4.1 Combustible Recomendado

Este motor está certificado para funcionar con gasolina para autos sinplomo. Usar sólo gasolina fresca y limpia. La gasolina que contieneagua o impurezas dañará el sistema de combustible.

4.2 Antes de Arrancar

4.2.1 Antes de arrancar, lea y entienda todas las instrucciones de seguridady operación de este manual.

4.2.2 Verifique:

• el nivel de aceite en el motor.

• el nivel de combustible.

• la condición del filtro de aire.

• la apretura de los herrajes externos.

4.3 Para Arrancar

Vea Dibujo: wc_gr000655

4.3.1 Para abrir la válvula de combustible, mueva la palanca hacia abajo(a1).

Nota: Si el motor está frio, cerrar el estrangulador (posición d2). Si elmotor está caliente, mover el estrangulador a la (posición d1).

4.3.2 Encender el interruptor del motor (posición b2).

4.3.3 Abrir el acelerador, acelerar, moviendo hacia la izquierda (c2).

4.3.4 Tirar la cuerda de arranque (e).

Nota: Cuando el nivel del aceite está bajo del nivel especificado parala operación, el motor no arranca. Si ocurriese esto, añada aceite almotor.

4.3.5 Abrir el estrangulador (d1) a medida que se calienta la máquina.

4.3.6 Acelerar el motor hasta el máximo al operar (c1).

4.4 Para la detención


4.4.1 Reducir la velocidad del motor, moviendo el aceleradorcompletamente a la derecha (c3).

4.4.2 Mover el interruptor de encendido a la posición “OFF” (b1).

4.4.3 Cierre la válvula de combustible (a2).

5.2 Bujía


Limpie o reemplace la bujía las veces que sea necesario paramantener un funcionamiento adecuado del motor. Vea manual deoperación del motor.

El escape del motor se recalentará durante la operación de lamáquina. Evite contacto con el escape mientras esté caliente.

Nota: vea Datos Técnicos para la bujía recomendada y entrehierro deelectrodos.

5.2.1 Remueva e inspeccione la bujía.

5.2.2 Reemplácela si el aislador cerámico está averiado.

5.2.3 Limpie los electrodos de la bujía con un cepillo metálico.

5.2.4 Verifique el entrehierro de electrodos (a).

5.2.5 Reinstale y ajuste la bujía.

AVISO: Una bujía floja se recalentará y causará daños al motor.

5.3 Aceite de motor


5.3.1 Vacie el aceite del motor mientras que esté tibio.

Nota: Para proteger el ambiente hay que colocar debajo de lamáquina un recipiente para recoger el flúido y una lona impermeablepara proteger el terreno. Los flúidos se eliminarán siguiendo lodispuesto por las normas vigentes sobre la materia.

5.3.2 Remueva el tapón de drenaje (a).

5.3.3 Vacie el aceite.

5.3.4 Reinstale el tapón de drenaje.

5.3.5 Llene la caja del cigueñal a través de la abertura (b) con el aceiterecomendado hasta la marca superior de la varilla indicadora de aceite(c). No enrosque la varilla indicadora para verificar el nivel. Vea DatosTécnicos para la cantidad y calidad del aceite.

5.3.6 Cuando la caja está llena, reinstale la varilla indicadora.

5.4 Limpieza de la Taza de Combustible


5.4.1 Para sacar el agua y la suciedad, cierre la llave de paso decombustible y extraiga la taza de combustible.

5.4.2 Inspeccione si hay agua o suciedad en la taza de combustible (a).

5.4.3 Después de haber extraído el agua y la suciedad, lave la taza decombustible en solvente no-inflamable.

5.4.4 Vuélvala a instalar con seguridad para evitar fugas.

5.5 Filtro de aire


NUNCA utilice gasolina u otros tipos de solventes con puntos bajos deignición para limpiar el filtro de aire. Existe peligro de fuego oexplosión.

AVISO: NUNCA encienda el motor sin el filtro de aire. Daños severosocurrirán al motor

El motor viene equipado con un filtro de aire de dos elementosfiltrantes. En condiciones operativas normales, se deben limpiar loselementos una vez por semana. En condiciones severas, desequedad y exceso de polvo, se debe realizar un mantenimientodiario. Cuando un elemento se encuentre saturado de suciedad queresulta imposible quitar, cámbielo por uno nuevo.

5.5.1 Retire la tapa del filtro de aire (a). Retire el filtro al levantarlo endirección vertical. Inspeccione si los elementos tienen orificios oroturas. Cambie los elementos dañados.

5.5.2 Elemento de esponja (b): Lávelo en una solución tibia de agua ydetergente. Enguágelo en agua limpia. Permita que el elemento seseque completamente.

5.5.3 Elemento de papel (c): Golpee levemente el elemento, en su base,para remover suciedades o sople aire comprimido a través delelemento (de adentro hacia afuera). Reemplace el elemento si estároto o demasiado empapado con suciedad.

5.6 Almacenamiento

Si la máquina es almacenada por más de 30 dias:

5.6.1 Vacie el tanque de combustible. Arranque el motor. Deje que lamáquina funcione hasta que el combustible se consuma.

5.6.2 Quite la bujía. Vierta aproximadamente 5 cc de aceite limpio SAE10W30 en el cilindro a través del agujero de la bujía. Tire lentamentela cuerda para distribuir el aceite. Reponga la bujía.

5.6.3 Cambie aceite de motor.

5.6.4 Tape la motor y almacene en un lugar limpio y seco.

2.2 Sécurité d’utilisation

2.3 Sécurité pour l’opérateur en utilisant le moteur

LLes moteurs à combustion interne présentent des dangersspécifiques pendant l’utilisation et l’alimentation. Lire et suivre lesmises en garde exposées dans le manuel du propriétaire du moteurainsi que les consignes de sécurités énumérées au-dessous. Le nonrespect des mises en garde et des consignes de sécurité peutentraîner des blessures graves ou mortelles.

2.3.1 NE PAS utiliser la machine à l’intérieur ou dans un endroit clos telqu’une fosse profonde, à moins qu’une ventilation appropriée ne soitgarantie par le biais de ventilateurs ou de tuyaux d’échappement. Lesgaz d’échappement émanant du moteur contiennent du monoxyde decarbone toxique et l’exposition au monoxyde de carbone peutprovoquer une perte de connaîssance et peut entraîner la mort.

2.3.2 NE PAS fumer en utilisant la machine.

2.4 Sécurité lors de l’entretien

Un matériel mal entretenu peut devenir un danger pour la sécurité !Pour que le matériel fonctionne en toute sécurité et de façonconvenable sur une longue période, il est nécessaire de procéder à unentretien périodique et à des réparations occasionnelles.

2.4.1 NE PAS tenter de nettoyer ou d’entretenir la machine pendant qu’elletourne. Les parties rotatives pourraient occasionner des blessuresgraves.

2.4.2 NE PAS essayer de nettoyer ou d’entretenir la machine lorsqu'elle esten marche. Les pièces pivotantes peuvent entraîner des blessuresgraves.

2.4.3 NE PAS chercher l’origine des étincelles sur les moteurs à essence sile moteur est submergé ou si il y a une odeur d’essence. Une étincelleisolée peut causer l’inflammation des gaz d’échappement.

2.4.4 NE PAS utiliser d’essence, d’autres types de carburant ou dessolvants inflammables pour nettoyer des pièces détachées,particulièrement dans des endroits clos. Les gaz d’échappementémanant des carburants et des solvants peuvent devenir explosifs.

2.4.5 TOUJOURS veiller à ce que la zone autour du pot d’échappement nesoit pas encombrée de débris tels que des feuilles, du papier, ducarton etc. Un pot d’échappement chaud peut provoquerl’inflammation des débris et ainsi déclencher un feu.

2.4.6 TOUJOURS remplacer les parties constituantes usées ouendommagées par des pièces de rechange recommandées et misesau point par Wacker Corporation.

2.4.7 TOUJOURS débrancher la bougie d’allumage sur les machineséquipées de moteurs essence avant l’entretien afin d’éviter undémarrage inopiné.

2.4.8 TOUJOURS veiller à ce que la machine soit propre et les autocollantslisibles. Remplacer tous les autocollants manquants ou difficiles à lire.Les autocollants fournissent des instructions d’utilisation importantesqui servent à prévenir des dangers.

4. Fonctionnement

4.1 Carburant Recommandé

Ce moteur est certifié pour un fonctionnement à l’essence pourautomobiles sans plomb. Utiliser exclusivement de l’essence propre etneuve. Une essence contenant de l’eau ou des impuretésendommagerait le circuit de carburant.

4.2 Avant de Démarrer

4.2.1 Lire et comprendre les consignes de sécurité et de fonctionnement decette notice d’emploi.

4.2.2 Vérifier:

• le niveau d’huile moteur.

• le niveau de carburant.

• l’état du filtre à air.

• que toutes les attaches externes sont serrées.

4.3 Pour Démarrer

Voir Dessin : wc_gr000655

4.3.1 Ouvrir le robinet de carburant en basculant le levier vers le bas (a1).

Remarque : Lorsque le moteur est froid, placer l’étrangleur en positionfermée (d2). Lorsque le moteur est chaud, placer le starter en positionouverte (d1).

4.3.2 Placer l’interrupteur sur la position “ON” (b2).

4.3.3 Ouvrir la manette des gaz en la basculant légèrement vers la gauche(c2).

4.3.4 Tirer sur la corde de démarrage (e).

Remarque : Si le niveau de l’huile est bas, le moteur ne démarre pas.Le cas échéant, ajouter de l’huile au moteur.

4.3.5 Ouvrir l’étrangleur au fur et à mesure que le moteur chauffe (d1).

4.3.6 Ouvrir complètement la manette des gaz pour que fonctionne (c1).

4.4 Pour Arrêter


4.4.1 Réduire le régime du moteur en basculant la manette des gaz à fondvers la droite (c3).

4.4.2 Placer l’interrupteur sur “OFF” (b1).

4.4.3 Fermer le robinet de carburant (a2).

5.2 Bougie d’allumage


Nettoyer ou remplacer la bougie lorsque c’est nécessaire pour garantirun fonctionnement correct. Reportez-vous au manuel utilisateur dumoteur.

Le tuyau d’échappement devient très chaud pendant lefonctionnement et reste chaud pendant longtemps après avoir arrêtéle moteur. Ne toucher pas le tuyau d’échappement lorsqu’il est chaud.

Remarque : Voir la Données Techniques pour la bougierecommandée et ecartement des électrodes.

5.2.1 Retirer la bougie et inspectez-la.

5.2.2 Remplacer la bougie si l’isolant est fissuré ou éclaté.

5.2.3 Nettoyer les électrodes de la bougie avec une brosse métallique.

5.2.4 Régler l’écartement des électrodes (a).

5.2.5 Serrer fermement la bougie.

ATTENTION : Une bougie mal serrée peut devenir très chaude etrisque d’endommager le moteur.

5.3 Changer l’huile


5.3.1 Vidanger l’huile lorsque le moteur est encore chaud.

Remarque : Pour assurer la protection de l’environnement, placersous la machine un récipient pour recueillir le liquide qui s’écoule etune toile imperméable pour protéger le sol. L’élimination des liquidesrecueillis doit se faire conformément aux normes en vigueur.

5.3.2 Enlever le bouchon de vidange (a).

5.3.3 Vidanger le carter.

5.3.4 Revisser le bouchon de vidange.

5.3.5 Remplir le carter-moteur à travers de l’orifice de remplissage (b) avecune huile appropriée jusque le niveau supérieur du jauge d’huile (c).Ne pas serrer le jauge d’huile pour vérifier le niveau. Voir la DonnéesTechniques pour la quantité et la qualitité de l’huile.

5.3.6 Après le remplissage, revisser le jauge d’huile.

5.4 Nettoyage de la coupelle a carburant


5.4.1 Pour nettoyer toute trace d’eau et de saleté, fermer le robinet decarburant et déposer la coupelle.

5.4.2 Vérifier l’absence d’eau et de saleté dans la coupelle à carburant (a).

5.4.3 Après avoir nettoyé l’eau et la saleté, laver la coupelle dans un solvantininflammable.

5.4.4 Reposer en serrant soigneusement pour éviter les fuites.

5.5 Filtre à air


NE JAMAIS utiliser d’essence ou d’autres solvants à bas point d’éclairpour nettoyer le filtre à air. Il pourrait en résulter un incendie ou uneexplosion.

ATTENTION : NE JAMAIS faire tourner le moteur sans filtre à air. Lemoteur en serait gravement endommagé.

Le moteur est doté d'un filtre à air à deux éléments. Sous lesconditions de fonctionnement normales, les éléments devraient êtrenettoyés une fois par semaine. Sous les conditions graves, sèches etpoussiéreuses, les éléments devraient être entretenus chaque jour.Remplacer un élément quand celui-ci est saturé avec des saletés quine peuvent pas être ôtées.

5.5.1 Déposer le couvercle de filtre à air (a). Déposer l’ensemble de filtre enle soulevant verticalement. Rechercher les éventuels trous oudéchirures sur les deux cartouches. Remplacer les cartouchesendommagées.

5.5.2 Elément en mousse (b) : Nettoyer à l’aide d’une solution détergentediluée ou d’eau chaude. Rincer abondamment à l’eau claire. Laissersécher complètement.

5.5.3 Elément en papier (c) : Taper avec précaution l’élément pour éliminerl’excès de poussières ou insuffler de l’air comprimé dans le filtre, del’intérieur vers l’extérieur. Remplacer l’élément en papier s’il est tropsouillé.

5.6 Entreposage

Si la machine est remisée pendant plus de 30 jours:

5.6.1 Vider le réservoir à essence. Démarrer le moteur et faire tournerjusqu’à ce que l’essence n’en reste plus.

5.6.2 Déplacer la bougie. Verser approx. 5 cc d’huile propre SAE 10W30dans le cylindre à travers le trou de la bougie. Tirer lentement la cordedu démarreur pour laisser répartir l’huile dans le moteur. Remplacer labougie.

5.6.3 Changer l’huile du moteur.

5.6.4 Couvrir le moteur, et entreposer dans un endroit propre et sec.
