Contact: Sam Velazquez Tel. 317.709.9628 Email: [email protected] FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 2, 2015 WIUX REVEALS CULTURE SHOCK 2015 LINEUP Foxygen, Twin Peaks, TOPS to play annual music festival WIUX, with assistance from the Indiana University Memorial Union Board, is proud to announce its lineup for the 2015 Culture Shock Music Festival to be held on April 11 in Dunn Meadow. This year’s Culture Shock festival will feature indie rock band Foxygen as the headliner. Foxygen released the critically acclaimed double album “…And Star Power” in 2014, and is coming off a well-received ap- pearance on the Late Show with David Letterman. Chicago-based rockers Twin Peaks and Montreal’s TOPS round out the top three performers. Culture Shock has always been a big promoter of local and regional music, and this year is no exception. This year’s local acts include Vista Kid Cruiser, Dietrich Jon, Thee Tsu- namis, and Mike Adams At His Honest Weight. Indy-based rappers Oreo Jones and Sirius Blvck will also be performing. Dating back to 1986, Culture Shock is WIUX’s biggest on-campus event, combining music with the local arts and business community. It serves as an opportunity for WIUX to showcase everything Pure Student Radio has to offer, and works to connect the station with Indiana University and the Bloomington communi- ty. Past Culture Shock acts have included Mac DeMarco, The War on Drugs, Maps & Atlases, Ty Segall, and Beach House. Culture Shock is a free, all ages music and arts festival. Music is scheduled all day between 1 p.m. and 10 p.m. Food and drink from a variety of local vendors will be available for purchase.
