We have over 1,000 higher education students studying with us every year - students who are excelling in and out of the classroom, with nominations and awards in their industries and achieving exceptional pass rates.

We understand that it’s hard out there in today’s ever-changing world and competition for jobs remains strong. That’s why our courses are designed with input from industry experts so you will be 'work ready' when you graduate. What's more, our safe, friendly campuses and supportive staff will make you feel right at home and allow you to focus fully on your personal and professional development.

Future preparedToday’s job market is dynamic and ever changing. We believe that to be successful throughout your working life, you need a range of skills and attributes – an entrepreneurial mindset. These qualities enable you to move from job to job or progress up the career ladder, being adaptable to the changes and challenges you’ll meet on the way. To help develop these qualities, our degree courses include a tailored module called Academic Study Skills and Entrepreneurial Thinking. This starts you on your journey of personal development and highlights the changes you might need to make to achieve personal goals and aspirations.
Industry-ledAll of our foundation degrees and degrees are technical or professional and designed to be relevant to industry. In fact, they’re designed in partnership with employers so we know we’re up to date with the latest developments and you know you’re learning from the experts. Our emphasis is on hands-on learning and you’ll have the full support of our specialist lecturers and industry experts, ensuring you develop great depth of knowledge and confidence in your ability.
Well-ConnectedWCG has strong links with industry, and this is clear when it comes to our degrees. Businesses put forward live briefs for our students to work on, and we have excellent input from industry on a whole range of lessons, masterclasses and placement opportunities.

A degree of flexibilityWhen you’re making a decision as important as this, you need to have the right options available to you. That’s why we offer a diverse range of courses from honours to foundation degrees, HNCs and HNDs to suit your situation.
Juggling family commitments, changing career and fitting study around work can be tricky. Our part-time and distance learning courses can help you earn as you learn, further your career and ultimately enhance your future prospects.
Tailored to youThe majority of our classes are small allowing you to train and study in a more focused environment. You benefit from more one-to-one time with your lecturer or instructor and it's easier to get to know your classmates. This also allows us to tailor your course to suit you. We can pick up on your strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes and work around a learning style that’ll suit you and help you achieve your true potential.

NightlifeNot only can you enjoy the on-campus bars which run popular events such as the Bavarian Beer Party, Back to School and Rave Nights, but the towns and cities on your doorstep offer a huge choice of fantastic nightlife. Students can choose from sophisticated wine bars and restaurants, to cheesy and trendy nightclubs, traditional pubs and large professional music venues and theatres. So if you’re looking to watch a Shakespearean tragedy, catch a big name music artist, or just get your friends together for a birthday meal somewhere nice – you can be sure we’ve got it covered here.
Your students’ unionWith fundraising, environmental campaigns and day trips, there’s loads going on thanks to the Students' Union (SU). The SU is made up of a group of elected students whose job is to entertain you, represent you and look out for your rights and needs. They will make sure your experience at college is the best it can be and run an exciting and growing programme of events and activities.
Culture and the artsTheatre performances take place each year at Rugby College and you can visit one of many art exhibitions in our studios at Leamington, Rugby and Malvern. Check out our talented music performance students at one of their gigs and get a front row ticket for our student fashion shows - a must see!

Business, Computing and Events Management
Within all our business, computing and events management courses there is a strong emphasis on the application of learning and teaching to the ‘real world’. Workplace examples and experiences are a fundamental component to all our courses, enabling students to be equipped with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to gain employment and move up the career ladder.
“There were a couple of reasons I did the course - one was for personal satisfaction, to prove to myself that I could do it. Secondly it was for my own career - I’d done some professional qualifications but was very aware that if I wanted to progress in my career, I really needed a degree, or something more behind me to do that.
For people who want that higher level of responsibility, the degree really does open your eyes. There is theory along the way which you can then start to see put into action.”
Expert staff
Ed Shuker lectures on the Computing foundation degree programmes.
“The college provides a supportive and friendly learning environment which encourages students to achieve their potential. Enterprise plays a key part in the college ethos encouraging students to develop not only their academic skills but also their core skills making them more prepared for the workplace.”

Care, Early Years, Education and Counselling
A common philosophy for our courses is professional competence underpinned by reflective practice. The strength of the teaching team lies in their diverse experience within the sectors, giving them current knowledge and up-to-date skills.
“I wouldn’t be where I am today without the college and tutors - they’ve helped me so much. I’ve worked really hard to achieve this, studying part-time while working, but choosing a vocational degree has meant it’s all directly relevant to my career.”
“Everyone said that the tutors on the foundation degree were excellent - it has a fantastic reputation. It’s better than I could ever have imagined. The tutors are really supportive and the facilities are great. It’s been incredible, I’m a different person.”

Higher and degree apprenticeshipsDid you know that you have the opportunity to move your career forward and gain professional skills – all while working and earning a salary? With a higher or degree apprenticeship you can achieve a full Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. And just like traditional degrees, an apprenticeship is a great route to a great career.
Higher and degree apprenticeships bring together the best of higher and vocational education, combining degree study with practical skills gained in work and the financial security of a regular salary. Apprentices split their time between university study and the workplace and are employed throughout – achieving their qualification while earning a wage and getting real on-the-job experience in their chosen profession.
• Those completing a higher apprenticeship could see increased earning of an estimated £150,000 over their lifetime*
• Employers think that qualified higher apprentices are 25% more employable than those that took another route into work*
• On completion 92% of apprentices stay in employment with 72% staying with the same employer+
• 46% of apprentices received a pay rise since completing their apprenticeship, while 30% had been promoted+
WCG already works with top companies such as Jaguar Land Rover and Cummins on higher apprenticeships in engineering, but new programmes are currently being developed.

Full-timeFor the academic year 2018/19, the full-time HE course fee per academic year is on each course page on the website.
The College will review full-time HE course fees on an annual basis and fees will be subject to increase according to the Government inflation rate and potential policy changes within the Higher Education landscape. The maximum amount of increase will be limited by the RPI-X inflation forecast for the year. Fees will normally be rounded to the nearest £5 once the inflationary increase has been applied.
Part-timeThe part-time course fee is dependent on how many academic credits you choose to study in an academic year.
Each stage of the qualification [e.g. FdA Year 1 / FdA Year 2 / BA (Hons) top-up] will require you to complete 120 credits. You can study up to 120 credits in one academic year or study at a slower pace (usually 60 academic credits per year).
Therefore, the total part-time HE course fee per stage of your qualification if completed in the academic year 2018/19 is: £6,935.00. If you choose to study 60 academic credits in one academic year, the total fee per academic year will be £3,470.00.
FundingFinancial support is available from the Government through student loans to pay for tuition fees and maintenance loans (for full-time courses) to cover living costs. More information can be found at www.wcg.ac.uk/hefinancialsupport, or you can contact Student Finance England by calling 0300 100 0607.
