BEREAVEMENT GROUP BEING PLANNED FOR EARLY 2016

Our 4th Parish Bereavement group is being tentatively planned

for early next year – Wednesday evenings in February and

March. The group meets at the Convent from 7 – 8.30 pm.

The overall purpose of bereavement groups is to provide sup-

port to those who have experienced the loss of a loved one. It

offers an environment where the bereaved can help each other

through their pain and sorrow, and to see each other emerge

from the experience able to survive and become stronger.

Sister Mary Petrosky, FMM,( MSW. MA) will co-facilitate the

group with Barbara Burns, MA. Please call Sr. Mary at the

convent (212) 678-6901 and leave a message and your phone

number, if you are interested in joining the group.

It is in Giving that we Receive…..

There is something authentically Franciscan about

coming together to celebrate 25 years of shared min-

istry. Thank you for the privilege and the generosity of

spirit. From our Community of Holy Name, the Middle

Eastern Refugees will receive $2,500 through the

Catholic Relief Services.

You are impressive and we are grateful!

The Franciscans

MERCI! THANK YOU!

GRACIAS!

50/50 RAFFLE

Holy Name introduced a 50/50 Raffle to give parishioners a chance to have some fun while at the same time financially supporting the parish. Special 50/50 envelopes are included in registered parishioners’ bi-monthly envelope mailing. The 50/50 envelopes are also available for sale on the last Sunday of each month after each Mass. The envelopes cost $10 each and on the Tuesday following the last Sunday, a lucky winner splits (50/50) the money raised from envelope sales with the parish. The parish share is used to support operating expenses.

Winner of the Monthly Parish 50/50: Our 50/50 raffle draw-ing for the month of October totaled $480.00 and the winner

of half the monies is Juan Rodriguez. Congratulations! Thank you to all who participated.

Giving Tree of Hope

Holy Name

Last year our community here at Holy Name was so generous to fill the HOUR CHILDREN and INCARNA-TION Kids with their Christmas wish list that we collected over 400 gifts. Once again we are asking for your help

in filling out their Christmas wish list.

HOUR CHILDREN: Founded in 1986. HOUR CHILDREN was named to acknowledge the important hours that shape the life of a child with an incarcerated mother– the hour of his mother’s arrest, the hour of their visit and the hour of her re-lease. HOUR CHILDREN’s mission is to help incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women and their children success-fully rejoin the community, reunify with their families, and build healthy, independent and secure lives. We will also con-tinuing to help and support The Incarnation Children’s Cen-

ter. New York City’s only skilled nursing facility providing

specialized care for children and adolescents living with HIV/AIDS.

The ornaments will be placed on the Giving Tree of Hope on the First Sunday of Advent, November 29th. Please take an ornament and return your gift donation unwrapped to the Par-ish Office no later than Wednesday, December 16. Thank you once again for your kindness and generosity. If you have any question, call the Parish Office at 212-749-0276 ext. 112
