Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I have my ceremony at the hotel? Yes, this is subject to room rental fees. Depending on the size of the ceremony we may be able to provide you with a separate room for the ceremony from the reception. If the ceremony is in the same room as the reception, the hotel requires at least 2 ½ hours to reset the room.

Does the reception site provide directions? Yes we will be happy to provide information cards to distribute to your guests if requested.

Are we allowed to have candles as part of our décor? Yes, you are able to use candles in any of our banquet spaces. We must ensure that there is approximately 1” of space in the holder surrounding the lit candle; the rule of thumb is a votive holder with a tealight candle. Any candles not meeting this requirement will be removed I immediately.

Are there any musical restrictions? Yes, Music/DJ services are required to end at 2am.

Is there a fee if I Do or Do Not have a dance? If you do, yes there is a fee. SOCAN is a non-profit organization which under the copyright act of Canada is authorized to collect fees for all music events. Events without a dance will be subject to a fee of $20.56-29.56 depending on the number of attendees. Events with a dance will be subject to a fee of $41.14-$59.17 depending on the number of attendees. RESOUND formerly known as the Neighboring Rights Collective of Canada or “NRCC”) is a Canadian copyright collective that seeks to obtain equitable remuneration for music performers and record companies by licensing the use of recorded music for public performance and broadcast. Events without a dance will be subject to a fee of $9.25-13.30 depending on the number of attendees. Events with a dance will be subject to a fee of $18.51-$26.63 depending on the number of attendees.

Are outside decorators permitted, and if so, what time can they come in to decorate? Outside decorators and wedding planners are encouraged, and they are able to access the room at 3:00pm; however, there is the possibility of earlier entry, based on availability of function space.



Decorations: If you have rented overlays for the tables, they can be dropped off at the hotel 72hours prior to the wedding-, which is subject to an additional fee. We do allow chair covers, however we ask that you have someone come in to place them on the chairs if they are rented from an outside company. You are able to hang decorations from the walls and ceiling as long as you use our in house tape and do not puncture or tear the painted walls or wallpaper. Tacks and nails are prohibited. All decorations can be stored at the hotel overnight, but must be picked up by noon the following day. A storage fee of $5.00 per box, per day will be applied to the final bill after noon of the day following the event.

Is there a Cake Cutting Fee? Yes, we charge $1.50 per person cake cutting fee. This fee includes us cutting, plating and serving the cake to your guests. The hotel will not be responsible for your cake topper.

Can we provide our own liquor/bar? We are a fully licensed facility capable of providing for all your beverage requirements. We offer full host bar or full cash bar, or we can arrange for subsidized bars (e.g., tonie bar, host tickets, etc.) talk to your wedding consultant for more information.

What if I just want to bring in my own WINE? You are able to bring in your own wine for a corkage fee at $18.00 per person. The bartender fee will still apply to your host or cash bar if the event does not exceed minimum revenue of $500.00. The client is responsible for providing the hotel with a liquor license, even for wine. A copy of the receipt must be provided.

What is the policy for special meals? The hotel will accommodate any dietary restrictions. Arrangements for this must be made at least 4 working days prior to the wedding. The price for these will be the same as the main menu chosen for the event. Children’s meals: 0-5 is free, Children 6-12 years is 50% off of the menu price. For Plated Dinners children 6-12 years will receive a three course meal for $13.95 per child.

Is there sufficient parking? Yes, we have 180 parking stalls with overflow parking behind the building. Parking is complimentary

Save Some Money: Did you know booking on a Friday or Sunday at most venues can save you quite of bit of money? Ask around! A Friday wedding is becoming much more popular.

The Honeymoon: Planning on going away for your honeymoon? Make sure you have your passport and any immunizations required at least a couple months beforehand. Research all the requirements of a destination before you book it.

Plan A Head: Talk to your hairdresser about doing a hair and makeup rehearsal about two months before the big day. Make sure you have both the same vision of what you are going to look like on your wedding day.

Go With What You Know: Just before your wedding is not the right time to try out the latest fashion trend.

Comfort Is key: Break in your shoes before the wedding day. We all know how uncomfortable a new pair of shoes can be.

Be Prepared: Accidents happen, but they are not easier to deal with if you are prepared. Have a small bag with stain remover (e.g., Tide Stick), sewing kit, earring backs, deodorant, safety pins, nail glue, band-aids, antacid and mints.

Eat! It is a big day, and you need to start it off right. Make sure you have a healthy breakfast. Have your maid of honour or bridesmaid prepare a small cooler to have in your limo filled with water, small sandwiches, granola bars, cut fruit or ready-made meal replacement drinks.

Go With Water: Most of the time the limos will supply with champagne to sip on while you are being transported… be careful not to drink too much! A better choice is to stick to water during the day. You don’t want to be the bride (or groom) who falls out of limo!

Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff: A perfect wedding day does not equal a perfect marriage! The small quirks and unexpected turns give you something to remember.

Relax and Enjoy the Moment: This is the beginning of a new chapter in your life. Sit back and enjoy the spotlight.

Minimum rental period is one da. Rental period commences on day contracted and finished when equipment is returned and taken down by the hotel.

Service Charge & Tax:
