Cleckheaton Folk Festival is offering a series of free workshops with award-winning singer-songwriter Bella Hardy for emerging folk musicians, singers and performers based in Yorkshire.

Kirklees Theatre Trust Company Limited by Guarantee 1504033 England Registered Charity 510693 Creative Scene is the Creative People and Places project for North Kirklees, West Yorkshire, supported by a consortium including The Lawrence Batley Theatre, Kirklees Council and Batley Festival.

In these workshops, acclaimed folk musician Bella Hardy will guide you through exercises and techniques in a relaxed and supportive environment.

In addition to giving feedback for each participant, Bella will share her advice on the creative and business side of the folk industry, including guidance on how to approach promoters and festivals.

Whether your instrument be fiddle, guitar or ukulele, if you’d like to take part, send in an application telling us:

• Your folk music background and experience so far.

• What you hope to gain from Bella Hardy’s masterclass.

You’re also welcome to send a recording of one of your performances.

Participants will also receive a free ticket to attend the 2020 festival. You must be over 18 to be considered for this opportunity.
