Wisdom & Life in Summer of 2012

The truth is indestructible. Summer is an awe inspiring time where vacations are abundant and greatrelaxation transpires constantly. It's an excellent time of the year. During numerous times, summer isseason where new love can develop and a reconnection with relatives & families can blossom. I havebeen fortunate enough to live in this very special generation. Changing cultural themes, changing music, wars, rumors of wars, social movements, and massive debates are massive parts of our time period. Notto mention that it's a time where love is abundant. People have access to a wide spectrum of technology.More and more folks are discovering the truth. As Zbigniew Brzezinski recently said in a recent CFR

meeting, For the first time in all of human history, mankind is becoming politically awakened.Thats a

great thing to see the common people waking up about the current actions of society.Volunteering and help for our communities exist all of the time. It's a great time to be alive and to livelife. New beginnings are coming about. I believe in love of the Creator, love of family & friends, love ofhumanity, love of life, and a special romantic love for females. Love is still here and stereotypes havebeen refuted since human history transpired. For example, just because you are different, doesn't mean

that you are inferior. The fundamental truism is that being different is a blessing and being you is one ofthe realest attributes of a human being. All human beings are created equal. All people have the purejustification to find that pursuit of happiness that we all seek. All people are unique and all people arespecial in the eyes of God. This time is an end of an era. A lot of legends passed away and they are withthe Father God. Even the Sister Yvette Wilson passed away recently in June of 2012. This is also thebeginning of a new era. We are approaching the third decade of the 21st century in 2020 . 2020 iscoming soon. There are tons of people in this new generation that are heroic, are heroes, and arefighting for the same goal of justice that we are all fighting for. I remember the 1980's, the 1990's,the 2000's, and the 2010's like it was yesterday. I remember wearing clothing to go into a new

home back in 1987. Back then in the late 1980s, the new home had red sofas and a certain retrovibe. The 1980s was a time of exploration for me since I was just developing my thinkingprocesses about how the real world functions. For some people the 1980s was before peoplewere born. Back in the summer of 1992, I worked in a reading program during the BarcelonaOlympics. The program related to the Olympics and subsequently reading literature. I recallplaying around in a recreation center back in 1992 with my relatives and friends. I have doneactivities, games, arts and crafts, and other activities in the recreation center over 20 years ago. Itseemed like yesterday. I remember having a soulful time listening to music in the summer of 1996.That summer of 96 was special since I went into Hampton, Chesapeake, and all over HamptonRoads to have fun and to learn about environmental issues. I recall celebrating the newmillennium during the year of 2000 and other joyful times in my life. Time is moving ever fast, butthe truth remains concretely established within the confines of the Universe. I still believe inindividual liberty and religious freedom. I fully agree with the sanctity of human life and the right to defendthe oppressed, the poor, and the outcasts. Likewise, I accept the premises of economic justice andrespect for human civil liberties as well. For if one person's rights are being violated, and then all of ourrights are threatened as mentioned by the late heroes of Dr. Martin Luther King & President John F.Kennedy. Using real soul power mixed with wisdom is a potent combination. That's undeniable. People

may hate you now, later, and in the future, but the truth can never be brought, sold, or paid off.

You cant pay as you go with the truth or half step. See, the truth is fixed and

foundationally strong and thats easily discernible.

The Left/Right paradigm keeps many people down. What is the Left/Right paradigm? Numerousindividually have succinctly explained this important concept before. The Left/Right paradigm is a systemwhere the corporate elite tries to control mainstream political choices in the world, not just in America. Thecorporate elitists present the people with an establishment Left entity and an establishment Right entity. Some believe that these entities are authentic choices that people can vote for. Yet, these choices areallied to the same corporate/oligarchical interests. In other words, the global elite via foundations, andWall Street backed banking interests control the leadership of both the Republican and Democraticparties. That is why the heads of both major policies agree mostly with the war on terror, some forms ofprivatization, the continuation of the War on Drugs, the maintaining of laws that violate our fundamentalcivil liberties, the acceptance of neo-liberalism, a refusal of have a moratorium on foreclosures

nationwide, etc. The Left/Right Paradigm tries to contain real radical change in society. This paradigmcontrols the mainstream political establishment by using the 2 columns of this 2 party duopoly. Oneexample of the Left/Right Paradigm is how the pharmaceutical industry, Goldman Sachs, and othercorporate entities give financial contributions to the Republicans & the Democrats. Another example ishow people like Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, etc. either call the Democrats the enemy or vice versa whenthe real originator of these problems internationally comes from the 1 percent. Also, Limbaugh claims thatthe President isnt doing enough in terms of his foreign policy when the President is very much likeGeorge W. Bush in terms of foreign policy issues. For example, the Bush administration and the Obamaadministration agree with drone attacks (some of these drone attacks have killed innocent men, women, children, and babies in Central Asia), the war in Afghanistan, and the present administration believe inassassinating American citizens if he or she is classified as a terrorist. Both major parties have folkswho support mass incarceration of people in America, drone strikes, and bailouts to Wall Street. Thisparadigm hates anyone exposing the globalism agenda too. On the other hand, some folks are criticizingPresident Barack Obama via the usage of the most obscene, disrespectful, and slanderous rhetoric in the

world. We should be like those bigots. If we disagree with the President, it ought to be truthful, uncompromising, but respectful of the brother President Barack Obama, his beautiful wife Sister MichelleObama, his children, and his family. I dont hate this man personally at all. We are all family and I do wishthe brother success in his life. Although, as a man, I decry NATO, the G8, and any form of imperialismregardless of who is in the office of the White House. There should be a fair solution to the MiddleEastern question without apartheid, terrorism, or discrimination. I am a consistent man.

In the final analysis, the Republican Party props up the Democratic Party and vice versa. If one partywas the sole party, then real revolution can come . So, the elitists use the two parties as a means to

form an arch of control over people. It makes it a stable system for the elite to build their globalgovernance system. That is why its hard to end the 2 major party system since they lean on each otheras a mainstream powerful force. The Left/Right paradigm allows some people to ignore the banker elite

and the larger power structures internationally (like the Pilgrim Society, etc.). There is almost nodifference between the two major parties at the highest levels except for some issues. One secretbreaking down the Left/Right Paradigm is to present the truth that the Big Mega-Banks, the Military

Industrial Complex, and the Big-Insurance Companies (that help to create the Romney caresystem in Massachusetts) have been exploiting America economically and has been promoting a

crony capitalist ethos in Western society. Select corporations get preference under this system to.

What ends this Left/Right paradigm is for people to embrace independence, agreeing with the promotionof the general welfare of all folks, care for our neighbor via public plus private means, long termsufficiency, and a sense of progressive action. In this life, I am an Independent man. I like myindependent political views. In the final analysis, I am a regular human being that was inspired to do whatI needed to do to improve my life. Subsequently, I will be dedicated to advance the interests of my ownpeople & real humans.

Im older, so I dont play the political correct game. I will not be silent. I will not be silent when

babies are being destroyed by drone attacks. I will not be silent when people are demonized for

who they are naturally. I will not be silent when a country claiming to be for democracy

advocates neo-liberal policies and supports (I cant believe Im typing this) the assassination of

an American citizen. Now, silent is betrayal and every human being has the crucial right to

speak out against any variation of injustice wherever it exists. I speak whats on my mind. I

express my emotions honestly in public and in private. Residing in my mind, I still agree with

universal health care for all Americans. I have an adherence to ending the war on terror

completely. I do believe in promoting human civil liberties and true dignity for the entire

human race. I still oppose unwarranted censorship and falsely ascribing peaceful calls for truth

as equated to censorable material. Materialism is something that I will strongly and vehementlydisagree with. Human value isnt defined by Gucci or other forms of clothing. Our value is

equally given to us since the beginning of our lives. The rights of labor, the rights of

immigrants, and the rights of other minorities ought to be enriched in any society and in any

nation. When there is talk of economic justice, it means many things. It means that we should

fight against hedge fund extremists, we should allow the super-rich to pay their fair share of

taxes (since America has record low taxation and has one of the lowest tax rates in the

Western world), and policies should come about to make sure that affordable housing is real

in this country. Many of these voter ID laws have restricted the voting rights of veterans, the

elderly, and other human beings. Its very unpopular to abhor war, to abhor bigotry, and to

fight the ideologies of the oligarchy, but it must be done. Popularity is never equated tounvarnished truth. Truth reigns irrespective of social popularity or the changing tides of

history. When you have Governor Scott (he even refuses to expand Medicaid in helping the

poor in his own state of Florida) shutting down a hospital and firefighters being fired, you

know that austerity is a sickening dogma.

Many progressives and many conservatives are trying to do the right thing, but the elite among bothmajor parties have done their fair share of nefarious policies. Also, laws that promote legitimate rules inbeing anti-discrimination and promoting civil rights aren't about forcing white people to do evil (or left outof a multicultural society). It's about preventing discrimination and promoting basic human rights for allpeople. All people deserve liberty, justice, and equality without exception. The racists and reactionariesare slick with their literature. Rational people don't view black people of having an advantage when black

people have experienced discrimination then and now for over 400 years (and my people suffered otherills). Only reactionaries believe that legitimate laws equate into some oppressive, abrasive quota system. Many blacks people in America have earn their success by hard work not handouts. Also, numerouswhite people via the Homestead Act and other policies have received public assistance throughout theages. Also, race-based quotas are banned and tons of people of color have worked hard fairly to earntheir benefits.

The Democrats and the Republicans aren't perfect. So, many folks want to use Republican talking pointsas a means to try to patronize my people to accept reactionary propaganda. I will not yield to it. Blackpeople are victims of racism spanning centuries. That's real. Examples include Jim Crow, police brutality, the criminal justice system (as documentary by numerous authors like the Sister Michelle Alexander), andother actions. Black people should have accountability individually, but not omission of a whitesupremacist system (that promotes GM foods, population control, etc.). Blacks have contributed a fairshare to this country before numerous folks were born. We of black African descent build many buildingsin D.C. as slaves. Some black people were exploited as a means to establish the modern Americanempire via blood and sweat. Therefore, legitimate labor is important to promote. We work here. Thebigots are all the same. The Declaration of Independence doesn't mention reactionary worship. A voucheris more complex than what conceive of it as. Many vouchers do nothing to build up public schools, butonly make public schools worse. Some violate the church and state relationship. Tons of the poor paylocal, state, and federal taxes. It's a lie to assume that the poor doesn't pay any taxes. The rich on manyoccasions pay little to no taxes (there is record low taxation on the super rich too). People like O'Reilly,Limbaugh, and Romney omit that the top 1 percent of the Americans own a disproportionate amount ofwealth in America. The rich don't pay their fair share with subsidies, outsourcing jobs, the existence of taxloopholes, and labor exploitation. An educated population realizes that progressive tax structure grew theeconomy under Clinton and other Presidents. Reaganomics didn't do it. President Barack Obama iscompromising to placate the radical Republican ilk and it isn't enough for that ilk. The President isn'tperfect, but Mitt Romney may be worse on economic issues. Austerity never works. Real blacks will never

bow before Republicans as slaves. Also, the Bush tax cuts can cost Americans over 1 trillion dollars. MostAmericans agree with the existence of middle class tax cuts.

In society, we have many blessings and we have a long way to go before we experience thePromised Land. The present system is corrupt. There are no means to be around the brushabout it. This system permits the incomes of Americans to be stagnant for over 30 years. It's asystem that is supported by the Democrats and the Republicans. The fruit of the moderncartel-capitalist system is shown in the problems in Appalachia, Detroit, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, the rural areas, and even in some suburbs. Big money, finance capital, etc. have allcontributed to the stripping of public resources in locations from America. Some even believethat a top down economic philosophy is the better way to solve poverty issues. The reality isthat we tried this philosophy during the Reagan era and it didn't work. To defeat poverty, it is

critical for us to use programs to help the bottom up. The lack of rules and regulations in WallStreet contributed to the current recession that we experience today. Right now, JP MorganChase lost billions of dollars. The current economic system of free market capitalism hasfailed. In terms of foreign policies, the nepotism of the West is blatant. The West wants worldhegemony and the Russia/China clique is standing in their way. After 9/11, the U.S. usedterrorism against the Third World in response to what they perceived as terrorism againstAmerica. What happened to America on 9/11 was terrorism. Yet, it is wrong to use terrorismin foreign lands under dubious justifications. The war on terror has been expensive costing upto 3 trillion dollars. This war isn't just in Afghanistan. It's in Somalia, Yemen, other areas ofAfrica, Pakistan, and other places globally. These wars harmed our domestic infrastructureand caused more tensions in the world. As some states cut back on the government funding ofhealth care pensions, food stamps, housing subsidies, and other parts of the social safety net,

then aggregate demand will go down (causing it more difficult for income stressed Americansto survive). The Fed continuing to drive the interest rates down will cause the bond prices toincrease. With 5-year Treasury bonds that paid only seven-tenths of one percent and 10-yearTreasuries paying only 1.6%, below even the official rate of inflation, Americans desperate foryield move into 30-year bonds currently paying 2.7%. However, the high bond prices meanthat the risk of capital loss is very high. The Feds debt monetization, or a drop in theexchange value of the dollar as other countries move away from its use to settle their balanceof payments, could set off inflation that would take interest rates out of the Feds control. Asinterest rates rise, bond prices fall. Some nations are moving away from the dollar or they are

trying to have more trade links with China (like Japan). In situations like these, only radicalsolutions can help our situations.

*Mitt Romney recently spoke at the NAACP convention. Mitt Romney wanted to communicate themessage that he has the interests of the black community and his policies will enrich families of any color. There are a lot of real issues in the black community. His views were from a Republican point of view. He

talked about education. Education is important and I believe that people should have access to all formsof education. I just believe that all public schools ought not to be eliminated in America for public schoolsshould mean that all kids should have access to education. Reforms ought to exist in public schools (likethe ending of privatization and the end of corporate control of public schools) without their totalelimination. Romney is hiding his finances. He didn't release his 2011 tax return that deals with hiswealth. Mitt Romney condemned the new health care law, but he created its blueprint while he wasGovernor of Massachusetts. My views are on known on the health care law. I believe that the law shouldbe revised without eliminating all parts of the law. A singer payer system or a Medicare for all like avenueis better than the current law presently. It certainly takes some guts for a man like Romney to speak at theNAACP location. Yet, Romney is wrong to end the Office of Affirmative Action when he was Governorand issued a fee for discrimination claims. The NAACP has an interesting history. Neither Romney norPresident Barack Obama is perfect since all of us understand both of their agendas. While the Presidentagrees with drone attacks globally, Romney agrees with the Voter ID laws (that have even nowdisenfranchised minorities, one veteran, an elderly person, and other human beings). The President didn'tcome into the NAACP meeting, but Vice President Joe Biden will ironically enough. This debate aboutPresidential candidates is an old one. As an individual, you have the right to vote who you want to. Yet,you have to keep in mind that economic inequalities, high unemployment rates, civil liberties beingtrashed, released prisoners having lax opportunities to move on with their lives, and other realities shouldbe learned about too. Mitt Romney said that he is the man that will represent the interests of the AfricanAmerican community. LOL. I don't believe in the two extreme views that there should be no governmentin existence or that government should dominate all aspects of society. I believe (as JFK said) in efficientgovernment to promote the general welfare of the people and enrich that our rights & to make sure thatopportunities are protected. So, I do believe that the public sector and the private sector can help society.I reject the collective mindset of the Republican Party that desires to cut public jobs radically. On the flipside, race neutral policies don't work to solve racist policies. In other words, you need explicit policies thatchallenge racial discrimination (like ending racial profiling, ending discrimination, getting rid of mandatory

minimums, and promoting policies to build up the black community) in order for things to change. For

example, the black sister Marissa Alexander deserves freedom not prison time for her actof self-defense. She will be in jail for a minimum of 20 years. The sisters are right thatthere is a war on black women and children and we should knowledgeable of this reality.Folks of numerous backgrounds (not just my people) are being jailed and harshlypunished when they are innocent. The present judicial system needs real reform and thatis to put it lightly. If other minority groups can put pressure on the President to enact policies thatbenefit them, then the black community has the right to do the exact same thing. As an African American,I have to present my issues to the public and speak out about things. Also, I will look at views and make asuccinct decision on who to vote for and what issues I want to express in the world.

We live in a new generation. One of the newest generation's most proponent proponents of thediscredited philosophy of anarcho-capitalism (that Ron Paul loves) is Adam Kokesh. He recently debated

Webster Tarpley on the issues of economics and politics. The debate was a great debate. Each man waseven in their debate (I agree with Webster Tarpley's views more) until the end when Webster Tarpleytalked about social justice and economic reforms. Kokesh couldn't refute the truth that social justice andprogressive economic reforms are a necessity to eliminate as much poverty as possible. No human canbe truly free and truly liberated without justice period. Kokesh is a libertarian. Kokesh forgets thathumanity is imperfect. Libertarians are right to assume that the human individual can achieve excellentcontributions and excellent inventions in the world. Yet, they are wrong to ignore the need of somegovernmental intervention (even on the federal level) to prevent fraud, to protect human rights, and togive the general welfare to society. These acts aren't oppressive since the government should be by andfor the people. Corporations in America shouldn't have unfair tax loopholes. Unfettered casino capitalism

was one out of many reasons on why the recession came about in the first place. When Wall Streetlacked real regulations, they acted in a destabilized fashion. It's better to end the war and fund ourinfrastructure than to gradually cut all areas of the social safety net (which Libertarians ultimately wantsince they hate government. To them, the government itself is the enemy [even if the government is ruledby decent people] ignoring the corporate/oligarchy-dominated government we have today). You eitherhave some form of fair government in a complex nation (with diverse ethnic groups, diverse technologies, diverse locations, diverse flora & fauna) or you have a feudal system. Ending the social safety net willextend poverty and cause possible genocide. For example, before the New Deal, millions of peoplestarved and suffered for food. Many politicians back then wanted to do nothing to help the Americanssuffering an enormous amount of pain and heartache. The New Deal caused so many of the suffering tohave jobs, foods, and a chance at a better life in their longevity. The libertarian propagandists talk aboutlocalization, which I have no issue with. Yet, even with localization (or local power in business, trade, etc.), there should be federal standards in society since one nation is a federal institution. America iscomposed of complex technologies, locations, and climates. You need an organized federal structure tohandle our national problems. The federal Bill of Rights is legitimate. Polls show that Americans want thesame or more spending on infrastructure, Medicare, aid to the needy, education, etc.

There is a Florida man who was threatened with prosecution for registering voters. Sabu Williams

wanted to register voters on Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend. Soon he received a letter from the state

supervisor of elections that threatened him with prosecution. The letter said that Williams (or thePresident of the Okaloosa County NAACP) was violating the Florida's new voter suppression law.

This law was passed by the Republican controlled legislature last year. The law cut the state's early

voting period in half. The law created new requirements on voter registration groups. Now people in

Florida must turn in completed forms within 48 hours exactly or face a fine. A federal judge blocked

the 48 hour rule. After the rule was first put in place, the NAACP was the only group in Okaloosa

County that braved the new pitfalls and continued to register voters. However, when they registered

voters over MLK weekend, they were charged with submitting the forms an hour late on Tuesday,

despite the fact that they were unable to submit forms on Monday because it was a holiday. Were

here the very first day that youre open at 2 oclock in the afternoon and youre saying that were an

hour late? Williams asked. Youve got to be kidding me. The state supervisor of elections sent a

letter to him saying: "...We appreciate you going out and registering voters, the letter read.

However, you were late for two of those and if youre late anymore were going to turn this over tothe Florida Department of Justice for prosecution. Voting rights are being suppressed by these voter

ID laws since it doesn't give enough time for people to register, there is rare voter fraud, and people

have admitted that these laws are being instituted in order for Republicans to be voted into office. A

new study from the Sentencing Project proved that nearly 6 million voting age adults are blocked

from the ballot box this year because of a felony charge. Also, innocent human beings have been

falsely eliminated from voting rolls in various states.

It is easy to witness the fact that the Big Brother system has grown or expanded under the

current administration. Recent news describe about how the feds desire to find ways to record

more conversations and texts found from cellular phones in America. Federal, state, and local

law enforcement agencies and courts made at least 1.3 million demands for subscriber

information in 2011. Even today according to the New York Times, telecommunications

companies routinely hand over thousands of pieces of information (to the feds) every day about

their customers (including the contents of text messages and caller locations). AT&T evenresponds to more than 700 government requests for information every day. Sprint reported that

it received an average of 1,500 government requests each day last year. A Congressional

Committee investigated the increased usage of phone tapping and other forms of date mining

by government agencies. They found that 9 telecom companies reported on the huge

surveillance by the state on their customers. The Times found that there are over 1.3 million

government demands for cell phone users' private information in existence. The cell phone

companies describe information about the federal government agencies have increased their

requests for subscriber information. Sometimes, even legitimate safeguards against warrantless

invasions of privacy are flouted. State surveillance of cell phone usage have grown and there

has been a fall in the number of police requests for wiretapping warrants made to the U.S.

courts last year. Surveillance has increased globally in the world. Whether they realize it or

not, Americans are carrying tracking devices with them wherever they go, said American Civil

Liberties Union spokesman Christopher Calabrese in response to the revelations to Congress

from the cell phone carriers. The cell phone data of innocent Americans is almost certainly

swept up in these requests, he added. The ACLU found that local law enforcement agencies

skirt safeguards and that telecom companies regularly give the feds a huge database of phone

information. This reality is startling according to Rep. Edward Markey (or a Democrat of

  • 7/31/2019 Wisdom in the Summer of 2012

    9/12

Massachusetts). Yet the current Obama administration is in favor of the expansion of

unwarrantless state surveillance in America when it wanted to grant legal immunity to phone

companies that had participated in the previous Bush-era program (of illegal wiretapping

carried out by the NSA or the National Security Agency). Even during January 2012 the Ninth

Circuit Court of Appeals dismissed 33 lawsuits against companies that participated in

warrantless electronic surveillance. The NY Times didn't report on the Bush's program ofdomestic spying in 2003, but later in 2004 when the election was still on. Both parties have

played a serious role in the attacks of our democratic rights. The U.S. Constitution, the 1934

Communications Act, and the 1978 Foreign Intelligence Communications Act respect either the

right of privacy or the right of human civil liberties. That is why we should do all we can to

fight against social and economic inequalities in the world. The reactionaries in the past decades

have strengthen the repressive power of the state via police agencies, prisons, spying

operations, etc. that violate human freedoms. This isn't right. It is just to eliminate Guantanamo

    Bay too.

One taboo comment to make in today's political world is about facing up to the fact that we live in a veryconservative nation of America. I know what you're thinking. The President of the United States is BarackObama. Yet, on domestic and foreign policy matters, the 2 Presidential candidates are heavily similar.Romney and his policies are influenced heavily by the Tea Party extremists. President Barack Obamaand the Democrats are speaking words like they are similar to the moderate Republicans from decadesago. For example, decades ago, the Rockefeller Republicans talked about middle class tax cuts, urbandevelopment, and environmental improvement like the President is speaking today in 2012. There is theAffordable Care Act or the ACA health insurance plan. This plan was upheld by the Supreme Court twoweeks ago. The ACA's blueprint ironically came from the Republicans (who hypocritically now are fighting

against it). Almost 20 years ago, the Heritage Foundation promoted this idea or a private insurancemandate as a means to oppose a Medicare for everyone system (as admitted by the liberal Keynesianeconomist Paul Krugman). A similar law was passed by then Governor Mitt Romney in 2006 inside of thestate of Massachusetts. The Times is wrong to assume that the ACA is the most significant piece of sociallegislation since the New Deal. Medicare, Medicaid food stamps, and civil rights achievements of the1960's have more important than the ACA. ACA has strengthens and weaknesses (like potentially leavingover 25 million people without insurance and allowing states to deprive millions more of poor families ofMedicaid).

In the final analysis, we have to care for the poor, because even a lot of Americans dont care about thepoor at all.

Even the free market cap and trade plan was supported by Reagan, Bush Sr., and Bush Jr. The plan triesto reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the atmosphere as a means to fight against global warming. Thisflexible market-based program allowed high greenhouse gas emitters to buy the right to continue pollutingthe atmosphere from companies with low emissions. Cap-and-trade was a less stringent alternative totougher regulations. James Hansen, head the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies, has beenleading a campaign against cap-and-trade for several years, charging it "does little to slow global warmingor reduce our dependence on fossil fuels." Cap and trade was scuttled in the Senate and the House (ledby Big Oil and Dirty Coal influenced Republicans). So, on health care and environmental issues, thecurrent President opted for more moderate plans, because of the obstructionism in Congress. Some bluedog Democrats and Republicans refused to vote for or against the Employee Free Choice Act. Today, radical reactionaries want to end the social reforms from the 1960's and the early 1970's. The reason isthat some Republicans believe in an extreme philosophy that the poor must help themselves (without anyassistance hardly) in order to improve their own selves. Now, the Republicans moved so much morereactionary in their views that many Democrats are center right today. The counterrevolution evolved fordecades with the corporate weakening of the labor union movement, the redistribution of wealth to therich, offshoring, deregulation, privatization of government services, and the cutting of social programs.Even cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security could come in the future under this administration.

There are setbacks for our civil liberties too and an increase in the prison population. The conservativeestablishment grew in the Presidencies of Reagan (1981-1989), Bush I (1989-1993), Clinton (1993-2001),Bush II (2001-2009), and during this current administration of Obama from 2009 to the present. Evenduring the Clinton years, Bill Clinton passed the welfare reform act that harmed the poor and hecontinued with NAFTA. He repealed the Glass Steagall Act in 1999 which influenced the recession. Wehave economic stagnation, unemployment, and housing foreclosures. People already know thePresident's concessions to the Republicans. The Tea Party movement is the union of conservatives, libertarians, and some religious conservatives that are funded in the billions of dollars. Some of the TeaParty folks believe that the poor are undeserving, some call immigrants freeloaders, some of them areracist, and many of them hate people of certain lifestyles. They rage against big government and wastefulspending, but the Bush II administration caused increases in government and created deficits (when theyadvocated a smaller state and lower spending). Also, they support big government in the military.

It is obvious to see that many Republicans don't want a smaller government per se. They want thegovernment to be controlled by laissez faire capitalism and entirely ruled by Wall Street, monopolycorporations and the 1 percent. They want most regulations gone. They want collective bargaining to beeliminated. It is obvious that the Affordable Care Act and cap and trade are conservative Republicaninitiatives originally. Therefore, why are the Republicans including Mitt Romney fighting against thesepolicies? One reason is that the Republicans are radically shifting to the right than even 5 years ago andlater the Democrats are following suit. Even conservative Republican Richard Nixon in his first term of1969 to 1972 issued some social programs. Our time is far beyond the old domestic liberalism of the1930's and the 1960's. It seemed that the center left Clinton and Obama administrations madeconcession when the Republicans push back on progressive reforms. There are many examples of this. One is the health care law. When the big business and insurance interests opposed a public option or amore inclusive Medicare single payer for all health care, the President dropped the public option in favorof the Republican originated plan. The administration worked with the major pharmaceutical and health

insurance companies plus hospitals telling them that will make profits if this law comes about. Despite thegreat parts of the law, the President made concessions to the Republicans and the traitorous Blue DogDemocrats. Now, Republican leaders falsely call this new law (in the slur of "Obamacare") as part ofsocialism. Meanwhile, some Democrats compromise instead of fighting for progressive objectives. ThePresident could have lost fighting for single payer but he may cause many more victories. Medicare for allhas important advantages in addition to covering everyone. Overhead is only 3% compared to about 30%for the profit making insurance companies. Single-payer type health coverage exists in virtually all theleading industrialized capitalist countries of the world but will remain ridiculously overdue in the U.S. untila mass progressive movement or party takes up the challenge. By not daring to struggle, the Democratsdon't dare to win. Republicans use long terms goals and tactics in trying to get what they want. They act

as obstructionists in Congress. The system is broken heavily now. There should be policies to benefit thepoor not just the middle class. There is corruption and compromises among both the Republicans and theDemocrats. We have a plutocracy than a democracy. The election system is dominated by big moneyand economic inequality is the norm. Our civil liberties are being shredded or destroyed. The compromiseis stirring away from revolutionary changes in the world.

Local and state power should never be superior to federal human rights. This doesn't mean thatgovernment should control every aspect of society, but it should be strong enough to protect rights &promote the general welfare without oppression. Ultimately, libertarianism means that all governmentservices are sold to private interests. Peter Thiel supports these ideals and he's on the steeringcommittee of the Bilderberg group. He funds Ron Paul. Corporations in many occasions violate laws fromthe state. Also, some folks act like the state is a dirty word. The state can be good if it's controlled by thepeople and it acts in a reasonable fashion. Also, not all independent private entities are virtuous. Somecorporations escape paying certain taxes and violate state laws. So, some of them act in contrary to theinterests of the state (even when a typical corporation is created under the laws of the state). Thegovernment is made up by the people. It should be strong enough to provide the general welfare withoutoppressing people's rights or liberties. Yet, no one is entitled to their facts. The fact is that the worship ofthe "unholy" unregulated free market doesn't equate into the establishment of an Utopian yellow brickroad. You need both private and public sector solutions in order for us to solve our complications. A groupof individuals determining their destinies is fine with me. As one quote says:

"...Thou shalt not turn away from him that is in want, but thou shalt share all things with thy brother, andshalt not say that they are thine own." The Didache

The specific Article I, Section 8 outlines the right of Congress to tax citizens (debates continue over it).The income tax amendment came later. Today, populists desire a fairer tax system. The reactionariesomit that the state can tax citizens in many areas also as confirmed by the 10th Amendment (whichlibertarians love so much). The commerce clause does deal with trade between states and this trade canbe regulated by the the feds. The rest of the Article I, Section 8 confirms federal government funding ofour infrastructure (as taxes historical. Even a new 2011 study (PDF) from the Massachusetts Institute ofTechnology (MIT) highlighted by economist Dean Baker shows that, contra the conservative talkingpoint, non-military spending can create more jobs than money going to defense programs. The study'sauthors, economists Robert Pollin and Heidi Garret-Peltier of the Political Economy Research Institute,

used statistics from the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Bureau of Labor Statistics and other sourcesto deduce how many jobs are created by public spending in various arenas. The problem is that the realpeople aren't in control of our government, but corporations, international bankers, and lobbyists are. Notto mention that many large corporations are hoarding over 2 trillion dollars in cash without spending it tobuild up American businesses, jobs, and infrastructure. The free market isn't divine nor perfect, sosafeguards are instituted in the market, so fairness can reign.

Now, its important to have a positive outlook in life too. So many people have apathyand pessimism in their daily conduct. That isnt me though. I will still have my joy, mysense of humor, and my patience. Indelibly in my consciousness is a will to improvemyself.
