This workshop aims to introduce today's wireless, mobile and Sensor network technologies, as well as future technologies and techniques required to engineer the networks of the coming decades. It will provide a forum to exchange ideas, discuss solutions, and share experiences among researchers and professionals from industry and academia in the field of Wireless, Mobile and Sensor networks.

Wireless networks have experienced an explosive growth during the last few years. The development of cellular and wireless local area networks gradually makes the notion of ubiquitous computing a reality. As one of the most advanced applications of wireless networks, sensor networks share a similar definition, but put more stringent resource conditions at each node. Researchers in the field are kept challenged to design better architectures and protocols, and apply them to industrial, consumer, medical, and military needs. This workshop intends to bring together leading researchers and practitioners to identify the fundamental challenges and future prospects of wireless networks, especially cellular networks, local and metropolitan networks, and sensor networks.

MAEER Maharashtra Academy of Engineering and Educational Research (MAEER) was founded in 1983, with the sole objective to excel in the field of Education and Research and become a well known center of scientific and educational research in India and abroad. The MIT Group of Institutions has grown leaps and bounds and has made a strong impact in the field of education throughout the country. MIT Group provides education in the fields of Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Marine Engineering, Management, Insurance, Distance Education, Food Technology, School of Government and also School Education. Prof. Dr. Vishwanath Karad sir’s vision and unparallel efforts in championing the cause of promoting the Value Based Universal Education System for spreading the message of peace in the society, based on the appropriate blending of science, technology and spirituality, UNESCO, Paris bestowed the World Peace Centre, MAEER's MIT, Pune, India with an UNESCO Chair for Human Rights, Democracy, Peace and Tolerance on 12th May 1998.

Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT), PuneMaharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT), Pune, is an engineering college affiliated to the University of Pune, India. Established in 1983 by Prof. Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad, it is among the first engineering colleges in the private sector in Maharashtra and India and also one of the few colleges in India to carve out its name in the field of research and innovation. MIT Pune's seventeen acre campus is situated in the city of Pune also known as Oxford of the east. MIT offers under-graduate and post graduate engineering studies in various disciplines. To fulfill the need of carrying out Research, Development and Innovation work, MIT Center of Excellence for Research & Innovation (MITCERI) is established on MIT Pune Campus. The institute also has Amdocs Innovation Lab established by Amdocs, IBM Center of Excellence established by IBM India, NVIDIA CUDA Parallel Computing Laboratory established by Nvidia. MIT in collaboration with Doordarshan also organizes Robocon India.

Maharashtra Institute of Technology College of Engineering (MITCOE)Maharashtra Institute of Technology College of Engineering (MITCOE) is an Engineering college situated in a serene part of the spectacular yet quiet MIT Campus at Kothrud, PUNE, India. MITCOE has seven academics departments and multidisciplinary centres with quality infrastructure and labs. It offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in engineering. A state-of-the-art infrastructure of international standards has been developed for each discipline of study that goes far beyond the stipulated requirement. The institute has very well planned laboratories built around a modular concept that simulates a near industry environment. An exclusive research center has been set up to coordinate research activities of students and faculty. The Institute is among a few institutes, who are ISO certified and got ISO certificate from American Quality Assessors (AQA) a prestigious body especially in Europe & USA.

A separate Division for Industry Academia Collaborations has been set up which actively helps to establish close and long term association with the Industry. Under this, excellent opportunities such as Faculty Development Programs, Sabbaticals, Support for Research Projects, Establishment of R & D Labs / Centre for excellence, Industry people involvement in various technical activities / competitions, are all available to the Institute. It is a matter of great pride that over 300 MNCs / top Corporates visit for Campus Recruitment and Students are selected by them. This activity is combinely conducted for the three colleges MIT/MITCOE/MAE. The Institute has excellent infrastructure for all the Training and Placement Activities. Twenty-one Multinational and Fortune 500 Companies have signed collaboration Agreements to offer live / high tech projects and impart practical orientation to the students and faculty, thus shaping future of the graduates. Separate cells for Research, Consultation, and Entrepreneurship have been created to enhance academic and overall performance of the students.

Departments of Electronics & Telecommunication (MIT & MITCOE) The strong Electronics & Telecommunication Group in MIT and MITCOE is active in teaching and researching fundamental and practical aspects of Electronic systems, Communication engineering and Telecommunication networks. You can opt to follow either the four-year BE in Electronics & Telecommunication or two-year ME in Electronics-Digital Systems / E&TC-VLSI & Embedded Systems course run under the aegis of University of Pune. The departments also boast themselves with University of Pune - approved research centres to pursue doctoral studies. They have strong links with industry, industrial support for research, and sponsored prizes and projects. Laboratories are equipped with industry-standard computer-aided design softwares and circuit design, simulation and virtual instrumentation systems.
