As an organization with large campuses in urban settings, we are acutely conscious of our responsibility

towards urban diversity and have set for ourselves the following goals

Integrated Approach Towards Campus Sustainability


Biodiversity

Our first campus biodiversity project was initiated in 2011 at our Electronics city

facility in Bangalore and started with an assessment of the existing plant, birds,

butterflies, insects, small mammals and other taxa in the campus. The project area is

divided into four themed parts:

All these projects are retrofit, where we work closely with expert partners in biodiversity, conservation, ecological design and communications.

earthian 2013 is the third edition, introduced in early 2013. In the first phase, teams submitted papers and

activities results on different sustainability related themes. After a rigorous selection process, the top 23 winning

institutes were felicitated by our Chief Sustainability Officer, Mr. Anurag Behar.

Wipro Cares

Wipro Cares is Wipro’s community initiative focused on certain key

developmental issues faced by underserved and underprivileged

communities. It is a trust formed in the year 2003 that seeks to work with

communities proximate to Wipro’s centers of operations. It also provides a

platform to employees to meaningfully engage with disadvantaged

communities.

Wipro Cares has currently:

Reaches out to more than 60,000 people in 53 villages in Karnataka,

Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Uttarakhand.

Provides educational opportunities to more than 70000 children

through six of its existing projects

Assists the livelihood of more than 60 farmers and have planted more

than 75000 trees through a project on social forestry

Rebuilt the lives of people affected by the tsunami in TamilNadu,

Bihar Floods, Karnataka Floods, Japan Tsunami, Hurricane Sandy,

Uttarakhand Floods, Orissa Floods and many more.
