The Bavarian National Museum has the most extensive and artistically valuable nativity scene collection in the world. On display are more than 60 nativity scenes, replete with figures, created in the Alps region and in Italy between 1700 and the early 20th century.

At the Dachau Christkindl market in the historic “old town”, surrounded by Christmas booths and an extensive program of music, a prize is raffled behind one of the little doors every day.

Each market has its own charm and you can reach them by foot as they are all situated in the heart of the Old Town (open November 27th to December 23rd, 2014). The most famous Christmas Market in Regensburg is the Romantic Christmas Market in the courtyard of Thurn and Taxis Palace, a fairy-tale like Christmas event.
