in this issue

Like so many of you, this time of year is always a time for me to reflect, both personally and professionally, on the past 12 months and really start focusing on the year ahead. As my dad always taught me growing up, goal setting is vital to success. The coming of the New Year is the perfect opportunity to evaluate current goals and to set new ones.

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about my folks, Bob and Sandy, who just spent much of the fall traveling for Relìv, especially in the Asia Pacific region. They attended National Conferences in Australia and the Philippines, in addition to meetings in the other countries in which Relìv operates.

It impresses me that after 22 years, they still have the desire to make such long trips and commit so much of their time. After 22 years, there is no getting tired, there is no sitting back, and there is no taking it easy. Why do they keep going? They do it because there are still people who need to know about Relìv!

And they’re not alone. I think about Dr. Carl still searching scientific journals for the latest research, finding new ingredients and creating new products. And I think about those passionate Relìv business owners who still approach every day like they did when they first started — as an opportunity to introduce more people to Relìv.

They are all still committed to the same goal: to Nourish Our World. And the only way to make it happen is to make sure the world knows we’re here.

You are a Relìv Distributor, which means you are a business owner. What are your business and personal goals for next year? To lead a more active, healthy lifestyle and help people you know do the same? To create a lifestyle and freedom for your family and offer the same opportunity to others? California Relìv Rush!New Distributors flocking to Relìv in this booming state

Already well-known for the Gold Rush, California is earning notoriety once again as a booming state. But this time, people aren’t rushing for gold; they’re rushing to join Relìv!

“Excitement in California is at an all-time high,” Senior Vice President of North American Sales Steve Hastings says. “Distributors are using the Relìv Success System exactly the way it was intended. Make Saturdays SuperSaturday meetings begin with basic training followed by a break, and then a special training topic that changes each Saturday. The Vances have incorporated some practical training modules that people can put to use right away. “We provide regular Saturday morning training workshops on a variety of practical topics such as ‘How to bring customers to the MA level’, ‘Goal-setting and planning’ or ‘How to approach the cold market,’” Linda says.

Follow the Fast Start Guide“The Fast Start Guide not only makes it easy for Distributors to get started right away, it also provides a great basis for training,” says Norma. Going through the guide step by step with a new sign-up (or a large group of them) shows them how simple and easy the Relìv business really is. The guide serves as both a teach-ing tool and a workbook to get new Distributors moving forward right away.

Create Visuals That InspireThe Relìv promotions are a great way to give Distributors a goal to reach toward as they build their business. California Distributors keep promotions top of mind by handing out flyers at meetings and using engaging signage and banners to catch people’s attention. “We always have large banners on display in front as people walk in, so they can see the upcoming promotions right away,” explains Richard.

“One key to the success of the Hispanic market in California has been the open communication encouraged between Ambassadors in the US and in Mexico,” US Hispanic Sales Director and Mexico Sales and Marketing Director Javier Ramirez says. “The exchange has been an unlimited resource to sustain and grow both markets.”

California was one of the original Hispanic markets in the US, and now accounts for nearly half of this growing segment of Distributors. Cold Weather Exercise Tips from Team Relìv:

Don’t spend the winter hibernat-ing under a Snuggie with a cup of hot cocoa. Now is the time to get off the couch! Sign up for the Team Relìv Exercise Club and get moving!

1. Join a gym. Many gyms offer special rates on membership and personal training at the beginning of the year. Some even offer free trial periods. So you can get start-ed on your resolution to hit the cardio circuit and it won’t break your budget.

2. Get outside. Ice skating and skiing can burn up to 200 calories per hour, while shoveling snow burns up to 400 calories per hour. Sledding down a hill is fun, but running back up that hill burns up to 300 calories an hour. Plus, your body works harder to stay warm in the winter. So, a walk

through the snow is going to burn more calories than a walk on a spring day.

3. Make your own workout studio. Winter is ideal for a DVD workout regimen. Get a couple of dumbbells and a mat, and you’ve got everything you need for an intense workout right in your living room.

4. Shop the deals. You’re probably exhausted from all the holiday shopping, but it’s worth checking out the athletic supply stores. Often, the previous year’s models of treadmills, ellipticals and stationary bikes go on sale to make room for the new models. You can get a great machine for a nice discount.

How did you first learn about Relìv?

a: My husband, Quinn, was a cattle-man, so he had worked with nutrition in animals and understood the benefits of supplementation. He wanted to apply the same principles to improve the health of our family. What attracted him to Relìv in particular was the completeness of the formulas — all the nutrition you need in one shake. So we started on the products at the end of 2001.

What kind of results did you experience?

a: The whole family — Quinn and I and our four sons — all experienced great results. More energy, help with allergies and a variety of other benefits. I personally experi-enced relief from hormonal imbalances and all the problems that come along with that. More than anything, we just felt better.

How did you decide to launch a Relìv business?

a: I didn’t want anything to do with the business at first. We had been involved with six other network marketing compa-nies previously and had been burned by the last one. And as a nurse with a busi-ness degree, I could just not see myself doing it.

Quinn and I argued about it for three weeks. I said we couldn’t afford to do it. He said we couldn’t afford not to — based on the improved health of our family alone. So we looked at the compensation plan one more time, and I realized I had never seen that big of a payout in all of my network marketing experience. Our

sponsors explained the benefits of Master Affiliate, the highest profit level. The more we thought about it, the more we knew that’s where we wanted to be. We became MAs in January 2002.

When did you start to see the full poten-tial of the Relìv opportunity?

a: Even though we were MAs, I was still not looking at it as a real business. I was doing it very part-time initially, but kept thinking of more and more people who I knew could use these products. By fol-lowing the Relìv Success System, things started to happen. Before I knew it, I had sponsored a friend as an MA and was beginning to build an organization.

The light bulb finally came on in June 2002. I know when I don’t know how to do something and will freely admit it, but that was when I said to myself, “I can do this!” I got to work just sharing Relìv with more people and finished as the top Distributor in the nation that month. When you include all bonuses, I earned $12,000!

We had a farm note due at the bank and were able to pay it off in cash! But my favorite moment came with my son. Before Relìv, a limited grocery budget meant we usually couldn’t afford juice. I’ll never forget the excitement in his voice when he told his brothers, “Guess what? Mom bought juice and we can drink all we want!”

How did you turn the opportunity into a career?

a: I committed myself to Relìv with a goal to make $5,000 per month in five years time. I may have had an incredible June 2002, but I understood that Relìv was a process and not a get-rich-quick scheme. My sponsor told me, “You are going to hit crossroads in your journey. If you always turn to Relìv, you’ll never regret your decision.” I followed her advice, reached my goal and continue to reach bigger goals today.

As you build toward that long-term goal, Relìv provides the means to live a full life and raise a family along the way. With Relìv we always had money for clothing, vaca-tions and the like, plus emergencies and whatever else life would throw at us.

What do you tell those people who say ‘Relìv is not for me’?

a: People don’t like to feel uneducated. That’s why I never try to “sell” Relìv; I just say, “I encourage you to become edu-cated about Relìv, and I’ll be glad to help you with the process.” They’ll discover for themselves where they fit in best. Some people just don’t want to live better. For those who do, Relìv has a place for them.

Buckheart Ranch in San Diego, CA, is the most recent beneficiary of the Relìv Kalogris Foundation. The ranch takes a variety of approaches to transform the lives of at-risk youth.

“We use the experience of mentors to influence and train youth to be successful physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually,” say Relìv Directors Chuck and Julie Dilts, owners of Buckheart Ranch.

A Passion for Youth MinistryWith a passion to serve youth and 27 acres, the Dilts wondered how they could make a difference. When a desperate mom contacted them, the Dilts brought the boy to live at the ranch and finish his schooling.

“Our son Jonny is a different person since being mentored at Buckheart ranch. He has a positive attitude and is much stronger in body and spirit. He is more sensitive, respectful and generous in helping out at home,” the boy’s father explains.

After seeing Jonny’s tremendous turnaround, another mother called. Word spread, and seven years later, Buckheart Ranch is a non-profit min-istry and school where many boys have found healing and a new way of life. As more boys came, so did more workers, teachers and men-tors, who have helped nearly 30 boys turn their lives around.

“Some of these boys have histories of abuse, depression, drug addiction, violence and drop-ping out of school. Through classes and a variety of chores, they learn the value of hard work and gain a passion for life,” says Julie. “We know we’re making a difference when we see a boy transform from being suicidal to having hope for his future. We try to show them the love of God and use the Bible to train them in godly character.”

Programs That Teach Life SkillsWhen the boys arrive, the Dilts determine where they are in their education. It’s a priority that they understand and are able to practice in real life what they learn in the classroom.

The vocational program teaches career skills including landscap-ing, gardening, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, food ser-vice and maintenance. They learn how to use farm equipment, raise chickens and care for an orchard. The active, hands-on work gives them a sense of responsibility and accomplishment. In addition to the education the Dilts provide, several volun-teers also come to the ranch to teach the boys various skills.

“In our activities we provide an environment of trust and respect, where young people can share their dreams, struggles and goals,” say the Dilts.

Requalification Reminder

To safeguard your Master Affiliate privileges, including your 40 percent profit level, overrides and eligibility for contests and bonuses, all Distributors who were fully qualified MAs on February 1, 2010, must requalify by January 31, 2011.

An MA may requalify by accomplishing one of the follow-ing between February 1, 2010 and January 31, 2011:

Relìvables: A Whole New Way to Share Relìv

Distributors everywhere are discovering that Relìvables® offer more than great products — they are also a great way to build your business.

Ambassador Karen Turner and other Distributors in her area featured Relìvables and the Slimplicity® Weight Loss System in a booth at a recent women’s expo. “We gave away samples of the Relìvables Healthy Snack Bars and the r night moisture + RA7,” she explains. “At something like a women’s expo, people aren’t as ready to talk about nutrition as they are skincare. We wound up getting 150 leads!”

Although skincare provided the opportunity, following up with the leads led to interest in Relìv’s nutrition products and business opportunity. “We’re still working our way through all those leads, but we’ve already added around 20 customers, 20 Distributors and a new Master Affiliate,” Karen adds.

“Relìvables are just a great way to get the Relìv name in front of people,” she continues. “I host events at my home to share the skincare and other Relìv-ables products. Many of my guests are people I’ve already approached about Relìv. And as it works with our nutrition products, once people try Relìvables and get results, they tell other people and it just grows from there.”

Tips for sharing Relìvables r skincare products:

o You’re not a chemist or dermatologist, so don’t get hung up on the science — just share your story and the benefits of the products.

o When you tell your Relìv health story, tell your Relìvables skincare story too.

o Re-visit those who initially said “no” to Relìv’s core nutrition products and see if they have an interest in skincare. Once they see results, they might want to start taking our shakes too.

o Customers who are already getting great results with Relìv nutrition might be interested in trying our skincare as well. Ask them.

o If new people are reluctant to purchase the entire women’s r collection at first, suggest starting with r night or r body.

o Most everyone uses some sort of cleanser and moisturizer. Ask them if they’d be interested in switching to a superior product.

o Approach women about the men’s products — 83% of women in the U.S. make all household purchases, including products for the men in their lives.

Relìv has improved our health and given us something we can do together

Key Directors Sally and Terry Cover from Bedford, PA, didn’t set out to start a business when Sally’s sister introduced them to Relìv.

“When we signed up as Distributors, we were looking for a dis-count on the products we wanted for ourselves,” Sally explains.

Terry, who runs a successful logging export business, drank his shakes at work. Pretty soon, employees were asking him what he was drinking. “Before we knew it, we had people who wanted to try Relìv,” Sally says. The business took off as the Covers shared Relìv with coworkers, family and friends.

“We attended our first International Conference in 2010, and were so impressed by the people and the company,” Terry says. The couple used conference to take their business to the next level, sponsoring 16 Distributors in the two months following! “Our goal is to sponsor 25 by the end of 2010,” Terry explains.

The Covers currently run their business part-time. “My goal is to retire from my logging business in two years and focus on Relìv,” Terry says. “Relìv has improved our health and given us something we can do together as a couple. I have the best partner!”

‘The Hope is Real!’

Six-Star Director Elisa Petree of Arden, NC, became a Distributor 11 years ago to get discounted products for her family. When the real estate industry fell through, Elisa and her husband Tim, a general contractor, lost their building business.

Elisa had attended Opportunity Meetings, but says it “never clicked” until she needed the income. “Turning to Relìv as a business was a no-brainer. I feel 20 years younger!

Without Relìv, I know I couldn’t be the athlete I am today

Master Affiliate Susan Spiegel of Gas City, IN, has been tak-ing Relìv essential nutrition for years to stay healthy. But after adding Relìv’s sports nutrition products she discovered what Relìv could do for her running performance.

Susan was surprised by how quickly her muscles recovered after a long run. “It just blows my mind that I can run a long distance and not be sore afterward. Sponsoring Distributors only need to provide the new person’s name and email address and select their starting profit level to get the process started — that’s it! Relìv sends an email to that indi-vidual with a link to our website where they can fill out all personal information on their own. Please note:

o Be sure to access the direct sponsor’s Distributor portal when sponsoring a new person. If you are helping a downline Distributor sponsor a new person online and log into your own portal, the new person will be sponsored directly by you.

o If you receive an error message during the online sign-up process, an RCN may have in fact been established. Please call 800 RELIV US (735.4887) and a Distributor Relations representative will be happy to help you.

o When completing the paper application, please select a single profit level for your new Distributor. Selecting multiple levels may delay processing.

Distributor Enrollment Packages:

Industry statistics show that new Distributors who don’t act in their first few days are far more likely to give up on the busi-ness. That’s why new Distributors will now receive an enrollment package with the tools they need to hit the ground running. The enrollment package they receive depends on the level at which they sign up. Distributors entering as a Retail Distributor (20% profit level) will receive a Fast Start Guide. New Affiliates (25% profit level) or above will receive a Business Kit, which includes a Fast Start Guide. Distributors qualifying as Master Affiliates in the month they sign up or the following month receive the MA Brief Bag.
