It’s A Bugs’ Life!
June 11 to 16 @ the Library
Watch our butterflies and ants grow, change, and tunnel. Learn all about different insects and then visit a librarian for your own “growing” insect. How big will your insect grow? Stop in all week.
Project Wild
June 20 — 11 a.m. @ Centennial Park
Join Lucy Diggins-Wold from Wyoming Game and Fish and explore being a wildlife scientist. Please wear proper footwear for running and becoming animals!
Dinosaur ROAR!!!
June 25 to 30 @ the Library
Dinosaurs have taken over the library! Stop in throughout the week and dig up some dinosaur fun. Don’t forget to visit a librarian for your own toy dinosaur egg this week.
Superheroes
July 2 to 7 @ the Library
Celebrate superheroes all week at the library. Stop in for an activity and the chance to win a super prize basket!

Storyteller Denise Gard and her famous border collies, Sienna and Joey, will take to the stage to kick-off sum-mer read-ing. Sien-na and Joey will perform some groovy tricks in this engaging show! Discover incredible stories set to music that you help create, then learn how to dance like a dog!
Libraries Rock (and Roll)

Are you ready to ROCK AND ROLL?! We are, and we’re ready to make some music with you. Create instruments and enjoy a mini concert at the park.
Railroad Days

Take a journey with us as we celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Union Pacific Railroad in Green River. It’s going to be Choo Choo much fun! Stop in all week.
End of Summer Party

Princess Bride Interactive Movie

The Princess Bride, rated PG, with a runtime of 1 hour and 38 minutes, is sure to delight all ages! Watch the classic book-to-movie adaptation with your friends and family. But that's not all. Each viewer will also receive a bag of props and instructions so they can interact with the movie as it plays!

STEAM Story Time

STEAM Story Time is a fun early literacy program that includes reading, singing, playing, creating, and simple interactive science experiments. STEAM Story Time focuses on Science, Technology, Engineer-ing, Art, and Math concepts for children ages 3to 7 years old and their families.

Harry Potter Interactive Movie

Harry Potter fans won't want to miss this interactive movie party! We’ll watch Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and join in on the magi-cal experience. The movie is two and a half hours, plus we’ll have a pizza intermission. Costumes are encouraged!
Karaoke Party

Libraries Rock! You can rock too at our Karaoke Party! Join us for singing, ice cream sundaes, a photo booth, and door prizes!
Cupcake Decorating

Bring your friends and learn how to turn a cupcake into a work of art by using a variety of decorating techniques. All sup-plies will be provided, including prizes!
Titanic Exploration

Have you ever wondered what it was like being aboard the Titanic? In this interactive experience, you’ll see what it was like being a first, second, or third class passenger on its maiden voyage and learn about what hap-pened the night the “unsinkable” ship sank.

The LEGO Olympics

Teens and pre-teens will split into teams of four to compete in the ultimate LEGO competition! Register in advance, then test your skills in the Fast Build, the Float-Athalon, the LEGO Luge, the Free-Style Bridge Build, and the Tower Sprint. Work together to win the gold!

AARP Defensive Driving Class
August 13 — 8 to 2 p.m.
Jeanine Cox teaches this class — sign up at the library front desk. The cost is $15 per person for AARP members and $20 for non-members. Check with your insurance carrier — attendees may receive 10 percent or more off their auto insurance. Refreshments will be served.

Summer Reading Program
Thursdays @ 11 a.m.
Elementary school-age kids are invited to join the Youth Services librarians for indoor and outdoor activities, special guests, read-alouds, and crafts. Caregivers are welcome and children under 8 should be accompanied by an adult.
June 7 — Rock Springs Historical Museum — Museum Director Jennifer Messer will bring costumes to match old historic photos. Kids will have the opportunity to dress up.

Bad Art Night

Do you like art projects, but feel that nothing you create turns out well? If so, this program is for you! Join us for an evening of bad art. We’ll provide the art supplies for you to make the worst art project you can create. In the end, we’ll vote to on who’s art is the worst of the bad. The “winner” will receive a prize!
Library 5K Run/Walk — Saturday, August 11
The Sweetwater County Library Foundation presents its first Library 5K Run/Walk. Run from White Mountain Library to Rock Springs Library on August 11 as the culminating event for Summer Reading! Register at White Mountain Library, Rock Springs Library, or the Sweetwater County Library prior to the run, or at 8:30 a.m. the day of the event. Registration is $20 per person or $35 for a family of up to 4. The run starts at 9:30 a.m. All proceeds benefit library reading programs.

Douglas Ross: The Oregon Trail
June 1 – July 14
Ross traveled the trail and captured the land that settlers passed through in his paintings. Opening Reception is Friday, June 1 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Ron Bohleen: Wooden Wagons
July 18 – August 31
Ron has duplicated perfectly proportioned, horse-drawn wagons, stage coaches and sleds in miniature. As a working rancher most of his life, he draws on his experience to craft these works of art. Reception tba.
Performances
Sweetwater Blues n’ Brews
August 11
Blues music, microbrews and great food in Bunning Park! The CFAC sponsors one of the performers for this all-day event held by the Rock Springs URA. Bring your lawn chair and relax in beautiful Bunning Park while listen-ing to live music all day long. Microbrews from Wyoming and surrounding areas and local food vendors provide refreshments.

Knitting Basics and More
Thursdays — 4 to 6 p.m.
Free open knit class for beginning and experienced knitters. Each month we focus on a new technique or project.
June – Charity knitting is the topic. You can decide to knit a chemo cap, Mother Bear Project bear, baby blankets, or for any other worthy cause. We meet for World Wide Knit in Public Day on June 16 and will be supporting the Wyoming Alzheimer’s Association Fundraising Walk.
July – Our theme of Christmas in July focuses on decorations or gift making to get a start on handknit holiday items.
August – Pull out those WIPs and UFOs to finish or frog and get ready for new projects in the Fall!
Kids’ Classes
ArtCamp
June 4 to 7 & June 11 to 14
Co-sponsored with Sweetwater BOCES, ArtCamp is four days of making art for 5th through 9th grade students. A variety of projects give the participants an in-depth creative experience and is taught by Pame-la Sipe and Nathan Wonnacott, art instruc-tors from Sweetwater School District #1. All materials provided with $30 fee. Students only need to bring a sack lunch and their enthusiasm to learn! Register at the CFAC.
A is for Art
Tuesdays, July 10, 17, 24, & 31
— 2 to 3 p.m.
Create art inspired by famous artists in various medium. Free art lessons for 1st through 4th graders. Registration required.
Knitting for Tweens
Wednesdays in July — 2 to 3 p.m.
Learn the basics of knitting to make a dishcloth and a hat. Students will bring their own supplies and must be ready for homework!
