LETTER FROM THE CAMP DIRECTOR Dear Scoutmasters,

I’m looking forward to seeing you and your scouts at Winter Camp this year. We are returning back to in-person camps – with several successful activities over the course of the past year – Summer Camp 2021, Shoot, Swim & Climb, and even Cub Fall Encampment. Winter Camp will help us finish out the year strong!

We appreciate everyone’s patience as we all work through the after-effects of COVID and Ida, and we

are looking forward to delivering an awesome Winter Camp experience for you. We are continuing our Gumbo Troop program! We bring together individual Scouts from different

Troops, and provide qualified, trained adult leadership while at camp. Your Scout gets the benefits of Camp as well the opportunity to build friendships with Scouts from all over the Council. See you at V-Bar!

Dr. Charles “Chuck” Watkins

PATHFINDER PROGRAM (FOR NEW SCOUTS)

Scouts will be given the opportunity to work towards First Aid and Fingerprinting merit badges. As part of this program, Scouts will learn how to do the following: use a compass, tie basic knots, safely use wood tools, first aid, outdoor cooking, identify poisonous plants and snakes and much more.
