Logger’s Lodge is a private eco-luxury wilderness lodge for two, with 5 kilometers of nature separating the cabin from the nearest neighbor.

Founded by Eric Borg, that previously had his own business as a photographer and management consultant, he is also a certified mountain leader. The vision was to create a private lodge in the wilderness with total silence, clean air, and zero light pollution with a 5-star level in all aspects of the guest experience.

Situated in the middle of the forest, the Lodge’s location is ideal for viewing the Northern Lights. A wide range of outdoor activities like Nordic Ski Touring, Horseback Riding, Snowmobiling and Dog Sledding, among others, is led by your private wilderness guide.

The clean air and total silence of the surrounding area make this a perfect spot to reconnect with nature. A wood-fired sauna and outdoor jacuzzi are available for you at any time, day or night.

Using ingredients traditional to Swedish Lapland, the chef and copartner Jörgen Drugge will cook organic gourmet meals served directly to your table in the Lodge.

Should you need anything during your stay, the Lodge has an iPad from which you can send a message. Your private host, who lives 150 meters away, will be happy to assist you.

Testimonials”What you have created here is truly world-class! The lodge is wonderful, the food is delicious, and your service and attention to detail are fantastic.”

“The feedback in this book says it all, amazing space, superb food, and hospitality and care, which is second to none… What makes this setup so special for me, is it allows me to experience this remote freezing existence but still be surrounded in luxury. You don’t get more decadent than that.”

”As fantastic as the fine food, drinks, sauna, hot tub are, none of that matters as much as the warmth and attention to detail that you provide. We loved every moment.”

”What a special place. A one-bedroom hotel (a world record?) of such high design and with perfect execution.”

Both Jörgen and Eric are brimming with positivity with the ability to have made our stay both private and as if we are visiting friends. Not easy but achieved and it segregates this type of holiday from anything we have experienced before.Massive success and we will definitely be back.”

”Pure Lapland…Pure Heaven. We cannot thank you enough for introducing us to the wonderful world that inspires you. Eric & Jorgen, you have taken hospitality to a new height!”

”Eric, you are the most thoughtful & attentive host! Nothing is ever too much, and your attention to detail is impeccable. We´ve been so spoilt & well looked after here. And Jörgen! Your food is so delicate and unbelievably delicious. We looked forward to dinner every night, and we leave here today sublimely happy.”

Food at Logger’s LodgeThe cuisine at Logger’s Lodge is an essential part of your stay, and just like the rest of the experience, attention to detail is in focus. We only use the finest of local produce to create traditional Swedish gourmet food of the highest quality. Berries, mushrooms, reindeer, moose, fish, and caviar are all sourced from the surrounding nature and local shops.

All your meals are served directly to your table in the Lodge by your private host, that shares stories about the different ingredients. In case you have dietary restrictions, we can adjust the menu to fit your needs and wishes.

If you want to get the most gastronomic experience, we recommend upgrading to our 5-course dinners together with exclusive paired wines.

HistoryBack in the day, timber floating was a common way to transport timber. The downed logs floated inland from the forests on flowing streams and rivers, to sawmills on the coast. The people who worked in this capacity were known as loggers, and their difficult job was often hazardous. Walking on rolling timber and breaking up logjams would occasionally result in drowning.

Strategically placed logger’s cabins close to the rivers and streams were built during the late 1800s. It wasn’t until the 1970s and 80s that this method of transporting timber gave way to truck and train transfer. Logger’s Lodge is an original timber cabin with a large central fireplace, that was common for these type of worker homes.

This cabin served as a temporary home for up to 16 loggers at a time, all of whom slept on bunk beds after a hard day’s work. Everyone had a personal cast-iron pan and would sit around the fireplace to cook meals. Rich history is contained in the walls of the cabin, and the pristine natural surroundings hearken to another era.

Today, the Lodge has been carefully renovated to a romantic eco-luxury suite for two. The exterior timber logs are painted in the Swedish traditio-nal Falu red paint, and the interior pine walls are burnt, to emphasize the wood’s beautiful grain.

The Bodträskå Stream that once floated timber flows just a stone’s throw away from the Lodge.

Signature Massage Treatments by Anneli Selberg

We are proud to present our cooperation with Anneli Selberg founder of Kroppsbalans Massage Therapy in Luleå. She has been a professional massage therapist for 22 years. 2019 she was voted ”Massage Therapist of the year in Sweden.” A treatment by Anneli is a body and mind experience on another level that will bring you to harmony. You will enjoy the treatments in front of the fireplace in Logger’s Lodge on a comfortable massage bench.

You get a beneficial foot bath with birch foot salt. The treatment continues with a foot scrub made of birch, salt, and honey, which makes your feet beautifully soft, followed by a wonderful foot and lower leg massage.

While we take care of your feet, you may enjoy some of our Arctic taste experiences. You are offered a Birch sap drink, a Chaga mushroom drink, Birch tea, Birch-spiced Dinkel sticks with a Pine sprig dip and dried Reindeer meat.

You then choose between a 60-minute full or half-body massage, performed with warm birch oil. You choose whether you want a gentle, relaxing massage or a deeper, more vigorous treatment.

Effects on the body: The birch oil massage is ideal for aching muscles and joints, while it is also cleansing and excellent for dry skin, eczema and can help with rheumatism, cellulite, and scarring. The foot scrub improves circulation and leaves you with feet soft as silk.

Storforsen Nature Reserve

Experience the majestic river landscape of Storforsen Nature Reserve, home to Northern Europe’s most voluminous rapid, which flows even during extreme cold.

On the forest-access gravel road to Storforsen, keep your eyes open for the many chances to spot reindeer and other wildlife. Once in the Nature Reserve, stroll the easy, two-kilometer nature trail at your own pace. The wooden walkways will take you upstream and up close to the rapid. Your guide will meet you here and escort you to the warming fire for an organic meal prepared in the traditional Muurikka pan.

Northern Lights Photography

Learn to photograph the Aurora Borealis and experience the mystery of a dark winter night in the Arctic. We will keep a close eye on the weather and Aurora forecasts and choose the best timing for this during your stay.

The sensor of a camera is more responsive to light than the naked eye and captures more from the night sky. If solar activity is low, a photograph can sometimes be the only way to observe the phenomenon.

We will equip you with a tripod and DSLR Camera, and also provide step-by-step instruction for capturing the night sky. Take in the vastness of the beautiful Northern Lights, free from light pollution. With 17 km to the closest village, Logger’s is one of the best places in Lapland to experience the Aurora Borealis.

This tour will provide lifelong memories.

To complete the experience, enjoy traditional Swedish boil coffee and homemade cinnamon buns. Yum!

This adventure is best to do on arrival or departure since it’s only 10 minutes from Luleå Airport.

The mooses will give you memories for life in this unique experience!

Snowmobile Safari

Feel the sense of freedom together with your partner while driving a quiet and modern 4-stroke snowmobile! The tour starts from the Lodge, and you will discover the snow-covered forest landscape changing around you as we cruise. We will also ride over pristine frozen lakes and on the majestic Lule River.

You can switch driver as you like, and a tasty wilderness lunch is cooked over an open fire.

Foraging Nature Walk

Meet Eva Gunnare, culture guide and specialist in local wild herbs and berries in Lapland.

Eva has a passionate way of sharing her life through stories, flavors, and songs. During this leisurely walk, you will learn more about the local plants as well as the traditions of usage.

Even if the snow lays thick, you will get an understanding of the local nature as you will taste her homemade products brought in her basket.

Then a special ”Fika” is served indoors with Eva’s treats from her foraged treasures such as Herbal teas, Berry cakes, Herb-flavored breadsticks, and her favorite nature medicines.

In this tasty tour, she wants to give you an understanding of the beautiful arctic everyday life.

Dog Sled

Experience the rush of driving a team of Alaskan Huskies on this exciting dog sled tour, led by expert musher Kim Jonsson. He will coach you in the art of driving a sled team through the wilderness as you glide silently through the untouched powder of this winter landscape. You may choose to drive your own sled or share one with your partner.

At the frozen lake where we’ll break for lunch, while your guide prepares the meal over an open fire, take some memorable photographs and cuddle with the dogs.

If you’re a beginner, we’ll give you a crash course in basic skills. With a guide, you’ll glide silently through the forest and over frozen lakes, as the Sami people have done for centuries. Fully immerse into the Arctic winter landscape while exercising your whole body in a pristine natural setting. To round out the Arctic experience, we’ll prepare lunch over an open fire and serve it beside a frozen lake.
