Exercise can literally cure certain types of heart disease and diabetes, help reverse depression, aid in arthritis relief, and of course, promote weight loss. Exercise can improve, extend, and bring quality to your life. Of course, theres a catch. You need to get yourself, and keep yourself moving to reap all of the benefits of exercise. Often, the hardest part of starting an exercise regimen is just that, starting! Here are a few tips to help get started, and help you succeed on your fitness journey: Consider your fitness goals, and make a realistic plan. Are you training for a goal? Weight loss? Overall health and strength? Take some time to think about the why... and make a realistic plan for YOU. Write it down. Putting it on paper and scheduling it into your calendar helps you stay on track. Dont abandon your plan! If it isnt working, edit your plan to make it work for you. Make exercise part of your daily routine. If you make exercise the first priority of your day, it will set the tone of your entire day, and give you the energy to accomplish everything on your list. Start slow, keep it simple, and progress slowly to avoid injury, and allow time for recovery. Change it up. Include different types of classes or activities. This helps keep exercise balanced and fun. It also helps your body to not get too accustomed to one exercise. Dont go it alone. Commit with a friend or family member to work out with you, or even carpool to keep you on track. This helps hold you accountable. You are much more likely to show up and workout if you have plans with a friend! Get comfortable. Try BACs Introclasses to gain confidence and skill, so you can progress into other classes slowly, and avoid gymtimidation.Invest in some comfortable stretchy clothes that move with you and that you feel good in. Proper shoes are a must! Visit your local running or sports store for help. Ask questions! Consider meeting with a personal trainer to answer your questions, help assess your fitness level, and point you in the right direction. At BAC, we offer a consultation with a personal trainer as one of your choices for a welcome coupon, take advantage of this! We can help find the trainer that s right for you. Fitness doesnt have to be a chore, or boring. It can actually be fun and rewarding! Get yourself motivated and start slowly. The results you start to see and feel will help motivate you further, and get you into the best shape of your life! If you have any questions, or need a starting point, I would love to assist you. ainbridge Athletic Club - (206) 842-5661 1 January/February 2018

Despite what you have heard, exercise (along with diet) is the magic pill to good health. Exercise can literally cure certain types of heart disease and diabetes, help reverse depression, aid in arthritis relief, and of course, promote weight loss. Exercise can improve, extend, and bring quality to your life. Of course, there’s a catch. You need to get yourself, and keep yourself moving to reap all of the benefits of exercise. Often, the hardest part of starting an exercise regimen is just that, starting! Here are a few tips to help get started, and help you succeed on your fitness journey:

Consider your fitness goals, and make a realistic plan. Are you training for a goal? Weight loss? Overall health and strength? Take some time to think about the why... and make a realistic plan for YOU.

Write it down. Putting it on paper and scheduling it into your calendar helps you stay on track. Don’t abandon your plan! If it isn’t working, edit your plan to make it work for you.

Make exercise part of your daily routine. If you make exercise the first priority of your day, it will set the tone of your entire day, and give you the energy to accomplish everything on your list.

Start slow, keep it simple, and progress slowly to avoid injury, and allow time for recovery.

Change it up. Include differ ent types of classes or activities. This helps keep exercise balanced and fun. It also helps your body to not get too accustomed to one exercise.

Don’t go it alone. Commit with a friend or family member to work out with you, or even carpool to keep you on track. This helps hold you accountable. You are much more likely to show up and workout if you have plans with a friend!

Get comfortable. Try BAC’s “Intro” classes to gain confidence and skill, so you can progress into other classes slowly, and avoid “gymtimidation.” Invest in some comfortable stretchy clothes that move with you and that you feel good in.

We can help find the trainer that’s right for you.

Fitness doesn’t have to be a chore, or boring. It can actually be fun and rewarding! Get yourself motivated and start slowly. The results you start to see and feel will help motivate you further, and get you into the best shape of your life! If you have any questions, or need a starting point, I would love to assist you.
