LEARN TO LOVE THE GAME Youth Baseball at Billy Herman ParkA Spring Training Camp is planned for kids who want to play baseball without the stress of league play. Experienced adult athletes will offer instruction based on children’s skill levels. All equipment and a t-shirts will be provided by the parks department. This is a free camp however, a 4 week commitment is required from youth and parents. FREE AFTER SCHOOL RECREATION ACTIVITIESCommunity recreation sites provide safe, supervised activities for school age boys and girls throughout the winter. Weekly programs include arts & crafts, drama, enrichment skills training, fi eld trips & get fi t classes. The program is free and open to youth ages 5-12. For a weekly schedule of activities, stop by a neighborhood center. All sites are open Monday thru Thursday from 3:00pm - 6:00pm at the following locations:

FREE BASKETBALL LEAGUE FOR TEENS Come out and showcase your talents during league play on Wednesday’s and Thursday’s beginning February 24th. Team members aged 12-17 years old will be drafted on Monday, February 8th at 5:00pm by volunteer coaches. Teams compete in 4 games, followed by a season-ending “hoop-mania” event. To sign up, stop by the Griffi n Recreation Center prior to February 8th. This program is sponsored by the New Albany Parks and Recreation Dept. with support from the New Albany Redevelopment Commission. LITTLE SLUGGERS PRE-TEE BALL (boys and girls ages 3-4 years old) Join our inaugural Little Sluggers Pre-Tee Ball League where children will learn the basic fundamentals of baseball/softball while utilizing whiffl e balls and bats. We will teach throwing, base-running, batting and fi elding in an effort to build game awareness and improved hand-eye coordination. Leagues will play at the Silver Street Park Indoor Facility beginning Tuesday, March 22nd and Thursday March 24th. Thirty minutes of practice will be followed a 30 minute “game” with focus being on taking day’s lesson into game. Registration will begin Monday, January 11th. Parents must be present for these events. COST: $25.00 per child

SPRING BREAK CAMPS:“Redeem the Dream” Soccer Camp (boys and girls ages 6-14 years old)Come join us during our spring break soccer camp brought to you by Redeem the Dream and European Soccer start Elmo Rodriguez! All campers will receive instruction about the game of soccer and t-shirt while also talking about life choices. The camp will run from Monday, March 21st through Thursday, March 24th from 8:30am to 12:30pm. COST: $20 per child

FIELD GAMES CAMP (boys and girls ages 6-14 years old)The second week of spring break, March 28th – March 31st, the New Albany Parks Department will be hosting a 4-day Field Days Camp from 8:30am to 12:30pm. Children, divided into age appropriate groups, will be taught and play fl ag football, whiffl e ball, ultimate Frisbee, kickball, relay races and other fun indoor turf activities. Lunch and a t-shirt will be provided to every camper! COST: $20.00 per child

Recreation Center and the new Silver Street Park and Sportsplex, letting you get that workout or game in while staying free of the elements.

New Albany Parks and Recreation will be introducing numerous adult leagues throughout 2016. New leagues forming will include fl ag football, kickball, whiffl e ball, dodgeball, ultimate Frisbee and soccer. All leagues will have both indoor and outdoor sessions throughout different parts of the year. Leagues will have a men’s co-ed and women’s league available at time of signups. Four teams are needed to start leagues.

Sign up for three or all of our leagues for a grand total of $500! You must sign up in person by visiting Silver Street Park administrative offi ce, located at 2043 Silver Street, to receive this special discount! Only one team per league (e.g. one softball, one kickball, one Frisbee) applies for this special discount.

SLOW-PITCH SOFTBALL LEAGUESThe 2016 spring softball slow-pitch league registration will open on Monday, February 1st. The last day to register for the spring leagues is Monday, March 14th. Games will be played on Monday (men’s competitive and women’s league), Tuesday (men’s recreational and men’s church league) and Thursday (co-ed and corporate co-ed).
