design intent

Within the existing architecture, different sizes and types of groups collaborate. Resident stations are in an area that provide a more concentrative zone and mobile stations in an area nearer the collaborative zones to enhance spontaneous meetings and allow people to be seen. A range of collaborative spaces offer users choice and control over where they do their work and support different size groups. Towers can be used as lockers to provide lockable storage to both resident and mobile works and help divide space with out walls or panels.

Enclosed enclave spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis for all users. These settings support 1:1 conversations, confidential phone calls, and more concentrated work. Full height walls and a door are included.

the building.

power/data access and storage within the desk.

A work café space within the middle of the floor provides a central gathering place for resident and mobile workers. The work café can also support additional spaces for both individual work and collaborative work. A range of open, semi- open and enclosed spaces offer users choice and control over where they work. The enclaves can be used a personal focus work areas or small dyadic collaborative spaces. The design provides a palate of settings that support different postures that the end user can chose from including lounge, seated and stool height options.

Located in the middle of the department, it creates a physical center for the team and is welcoming to visitors. The space is intentionally flanked by more small group settings for all to use.

Just off the café space, this semi-enclosed space supports 2-3 person work. Ideas can be developed and shared using a large whiteboard surface. Laptop use allows users to share digital content shoulder to shoulder.

Post & Beam framework on three sides of the full height wall offers a comfortable sense of privacy for dyadic work.

The back surface of the media:scape provides for

multiple uses, including branding, collaboration, and

messaging.

But how else can we set ourselves apart…..

• Set up schemes so you can easily pull in color pallets when you are presenting to design concept to a client

Simple Strategies

• The Power of training your Sales Staff on CET Designer….Not as scary as it sounds

• How did we convince our CEO this was the best way to go. • We reviewed the size of our average order and what those orders consisted of.

• What we found is that many of our orders were repetitive and the same typicals and designs were being used for many of the applications within our annuity accounts.

• He understood the capabilities of CET and recognized how training some of our sales force that held that annuity accounts could open up a designers time to focus on larger more strategic projects

• He realized the financial investment would have a gain in the long run as it would free up resources (designers) to center their focus on larger more complex projects where there their expertise would add more value and create more wins.

• Process Overview 1. We took a select group of Sales people to pilot the program for approx 6 months

• Each one received a laptop equipped with CET Designer • First step was to have all of them go thru basic CET Designer training. • Each of them was paired with a designer to mentor them thru any issues

they may run into. • After 6 mon we reviewed what was working and what was not

2. The next step for Sales People (that held annuity accounts) • We realized some of our internal process weren’t supporting the change we

were asking the Sales people to take on with CET Designer• We revamped our Operations/Customer Service/Design and Sales process to

support the change. • We on boarded the rest of the sales people that had not gone thru the CET

Designer basic training. • We put a double check system in place for all drawings that were done by a

Sales Person. • We created new product training platform for all the sales people. • We have a monthly lessons learned seminar so that we can continue to

improve upon this process.

• These changes have allowed our designers to partner with our New Business team on projects that need more strategic input and allow the design department to utilize CET Designer to win business from the competition.

• Having them partner with the New Business team we feel is a good training ground for them to learn the sales side of the business

• The long term goal is to have our Annuity Sales staff made up of designers that can bring the experience of using CET Designer as the ultimate selling tool that will help enhance the customer experience and close deals more effectively and efficiently.
