Out Of Office

Hello,

It’s my pleasure to address you in this issue’s “Out of the Office.” If you’re new to WorldVentures, welcome to our family! We look forward to helping you go on an incredible journey as you achieve your goals and realize the fun, freedom and fulfillment you’ve been searching for. And I want you to know we’re dedicated to providing the vehicle that will get you there.

WorldVentures is a company that was started by experienced network marketing sales representatives, built for Representatives. We know what you’re going through, and our mission is fairly simple: Every day, we continue improving the WorldVentures product, opportunity and experience so that you can achieve your goals and dreams faster than ever. We’re dedicated to never becoming a stagnant company—in fact, it’s simply not in our DNA.

One improvement we’ve just made is the brand-new look and feel of this very magazine. Thanks to Rebecca Larson, Whitney Allen and some of our top Reps, Voyager’s layout, quality and content have gone to a brand-new level. They’re committed to giving you the information and success stories you need to go out and create your own success story.

With that in mind, in this issue, we put a spotlight on Troy and Kathy Brown and Jeff and Cindy Bolf. In the cover story, “A Winning Season” on page 16, you’ll learn about their struggles and achievements and get a game plan that outlines exactly how to achieve your goals in the coming months.

And, to more synergistically integrate all of your favorite PSP tools, with every issue of Voyager, you’ll find a Drivetime University: Overdrive CD with content relating to the magazine. So, for this issue, you can listen to and learn from Jeff and Troy as well as watch a video of Troy and Kathy talking about how they got started. And when you’re checking out the PSP area in your back office, don’t miss these powerhouses’ success tips.

From this point forward, you can count on getting the best profiles, success stories and training from Voyager. And if you like what you’re reading in the magazine, you can now purchase back issues through the WVGear portion of your back office to hand out and build your business (while supplies last).

From the bottom of my heart, I want to personally thank you for participating in the WorldVentures journey and doing your part to help yourself and others have a life filled with more fun, freedom and fulfillment.

We know you are getting excited about your upcoming DreamTrip, so we’ve created a list of helpful tips that will get you on your way and traveling smart before you head out the door. A little extra planning will make the difference between “I can’t believe that happened” and “I wish we could do it again!”

Keep emergency numbers at your side. Keep important customer service phone numbers for your bank or credit card, in your wallet or pocket, so you can call to cancel your card if it’s lost or stolen. You can also call them to request a quick replacement.

Budget, budget, budget. Create a travel budget to prevent returning home to a scary credit card bill or empty bank account. Research the areas you’ll be visiting and look for local eateries or sidewalk cafés. Make sure to check out their menus and pricing before you go to avoid overspending. Plan what you want to see and how much you’ll spend on souvenirs. It may be time-consuming at first, but a little planning will make it easier to stay within your budget and skip the “I have to buy everything in sight or I’ll never remember this trip” disease.

the SMarT traveler

enjoy the local scene. Many websites promote local events, festivals, live music shows and gallery events, so why not take advantage of this information and make it part of your trip? Don’t miss your favorite band playing in the local arena, an outdoor concert, or a festival or flea market. You’ll make memories that’ll last a lifetime, and you’re sure to come away with some rare finds.

travel for less. Did you know that many airlines offer specials during low seasons and during off-peak hours? It’s true, and you can use this information to your advantage. One way is to look for deals that require you leaving on a Thursday and returning on a Monday. Use your savings to splurge on something fun, like a gondola ride or extra excursion.

“Be careful the environment you choose, for it will shape you; be careful the friends you choose, for you will become like them.”

It’s time to get a crash course in learning the “millionaire mindset” as Millionaire Boot Camp lands in Singapore—that small island city-state perched at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula. With its strategic location, economic powerhouse capabilities, and diverse culture and history, Singapore offers an ideal destination for both business and pleasure, making it the perfect location for the next International Millionaire Boot Camp!

Singapore may be one of the smallest countries in the world, but what it lacks in land mass—275 square miles, to be exact—it makes up for in beauty, progressiveness and wealth. Combining an amazing blend of an ancient Asian civilization with a modern, contemporary lifestyle, Singapore is a complex land where nature and innovation are balanced harmoniously.

Although small in size, Singapore commands an enormous presence in the world today, due to its fast-growing economy and highly efficient workforce. Singapore’s population currently stands at just over 5 million people and the workforce is well-educated and ready for the right opportunity.

Widely spoken and understood, English is the main language of commerce and education, but almost everyone in Singapore speaks more than one language, and many speak three or four. Add in the country’s complex banking and stock market systems, and Singapore competes with any place on Earth.

This November, you can discover the charismatic country at its best while learning surefire strategies for taking charge of your financial life. This intense training event is straight-shooting and very blunt. And when it’s over, your mind will be sharper, your financial path will be clearer, and you’ll be more confident than ever.

Designed to teach you how to create financial freedom for yourself, International Millionaire Boot Camp shows you how to follow in the footsteps of those who have already accomplished their financial aspirations. Rally your troops and march on over to Singapore for International Millionaire Boot Camp, November 12–13, 2011, so you can be the next WorldVentures millionaire!

Well, it’s that time of year again… the NFL millionaires and billionaires have settled their money issues, and schools are back in session. Are you ready for some football? (For those of you who hate the sport, hang in there with me.)

I know that when I say “football,” many people think of what we Americans call soccer, so, just to clarify, we’re talking about American football here. If you aren’t from the States, roll with me—I promise you’ll learn a great lesson, and I pledge to cover international football in a future “The Coach’s Corner.” If you are a faithful ESPN sports television viewer like me, or if you’re an avid sports radio guy or gal, you know most of the media coverage is about the skill players, aka the glamour players—the quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers. They get all the attention because they’re the ones who handle the ball and score the touchdowns. That’s all well and good, but every year, the NFL Super Bowl champion is not determined as much by the “glamour players” as it is by the guys in the trenches. They are the big guys up front, who either block to make it possible for the “skill players” to demonstrate their skill on offense, or stop them from displaying it by tackling them on defense. The players in the trenches are the life blood of any championship team.

So, what does that have to do with you building your WorldVentures business? Everything, actually.

Most people want the “glamour” that comes with being the presenter or the trainer, but guess what? If you haven’t invited anyone to the presentation, you won’t make any money doing the presentation. If you don’t have any team members at the training, you won’t make any money doing the training. The money is in inviting. In football, blocking and tackling are the “grunt” work. But in WorldVentures, the grunt work is inviting. And, just like in a football game, your ability to invite is what separates the winner from the loser! The glory will come with the results! When you make RMD because you invited so many personal prospects (to whom someone else may have presented) that you end up personally sponsoring more than 50 of them a year, you’ll have lots of glory! Do the non-fan-pleasing, mundane job of inviting in excellence, and you’ll be like an All-Pro or an All-American lineman—the most certain way to win the game at WorldVentures. If you are an excellent presenter and trainer, which most of our top Reps are, keep presenting or training—just make sure not to get caught up in “management mode” and do not stop inviting new prospects!

Consistently inviting new prospects will eventually duplicate throughout your whole team, and you’ll not just win one championship—you’ll create a dynasty.

See you back here in the locker room next time!

“The No. 1 request from the field has been to add a robust video training library to PSP, and that’s exactly what we’ve done,” Marc says. “And the best part? The price for PSP has stayed the same—you receive extra value without any additional costs.”

Through a series of systematic “mini-courses,” Virtual Trainer gives you access to engaging learning materials and high-tech tools designed to keep you organized, as well as training modules to help you and your team obtain results. “The idea started with about 40 training clips of me and Dan,” Marc says. “Together, we have nearly 50 years of experience as mega-producers in network marketing.”

a Q&a With john Bonnett

John Bonnett, a WorldVentures Representative in the U.K., was recently inducted into the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, granting him knighthood. John was instrumental in introducing the Maltese to WorldVentures and aiding the growing market in its first days after launch.

Voyager caught up with John while he was in Malta.

V: Since you live in the U.K., how did you become involved in the launch of Malta? In 2005, Linda and I decided to go on holiday somewhere we’d never visited, which led us to Malta, an island with only 360,000 inhabitants. Upon our arrival, we were met by Alfred Difesa, a leader in the company we were working with who’d built a team of 20,000 people in the small country. We became good friends and developed a mutual respect for each other professionally.

In September 2009, Alfred emailed, asking me to visit him in Malta in December. We decided that we wanted to introduce WorldVentures there, marking the first time WorldVentures would officially launch somewhere other than the United States.

In January and February, I visited Malta on three occasions, and Alfred and I did the preliminary ground work. The first Maltese Representative enrolled March 2, 2010, and we built a team there very quickly. However, this speed of growth had its drawbacks: New members joined quickly and then left quickly, and we didn’t have a product (DreamTrips) available.

Malta officially launched at WorldVentures’ first international convention in April 2010.

V: You were recently invited to become a knight in the Order of Saint John—how did that come about? In December 2010, Alfred invited me to attend an investiture ceremony of the Knights of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, a charitable organization that dates back almost 900 years. At the time I was unaware of why I was invited, and it wasn’t until then that I found out Alfred was “Sir Alfred of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem.” He had never even mentioned it!

I was then invited to join the Order of Saint John, and over the next few months, I had to supply

various references of a financial, personal and charitable nature that would be scrutinized by the General Council before I was accepted into the order.

V: Why were you invited to join?I don’t know why exactly. I believe it was because I introduced WorldVentures to Malta, but this seems a high honor and privilege for such an event. Our team here realizes we are not in WorldVentures to make a fortune, but to see how many people we can help achieve their goals in life.

V: What effect, if any, has WorldVentures had on your life?Because of WorldVentures, my wife and I were able to retire on June 14, 2010, and we have been enjoying life through WorldVentures ever since. As I chat with you, I’m staying in an apartment in Malta. The temperature is 35 degrees Celsius, the sun is shining, and we Make a living… Living!

V: What’s been the best advice you’ve received? That in the future everyone will need a Plan B, so never quit. That was a long time ago, and much water has passed under the bridge since then, but it was one of the most profound statements I’ve ever heard, and it affects me to this day.

could forget your worries in Greece without breaking your piggy bank?

Sounds nice, doesn’t it? Well, with the addition of Rovia Select to DreamTrips

Life and Luxury DreamTrips, traveling in the lap of luxury just got easier. Welcome to Rovia Select, and welcome to a new way of traveling.

Since its launch at July’s Millionaire Boot Camp in Las Vegas, this exciting addition to the DreamTrips Life and Luxury DreamTrips memberships is making it possible for travelers to fit the five-star lifestyle into their budget.

“You could book these hotels through any travel agent in the world, but they’re going to book them for twice what Rovia Select would,” Rovia President Mike Putman says. “Rovia Select is a high-end product with offerings for the discriminate traveler.”

And the discriminate traveler will certainly find something to smile about when they click “Rovia Select” on their DreamTrips Life or Luxury DreamTrips website. In fact, 15 of the hotels Rovia Select offers have been lauded within the pages of Condé Nast Traveler, and five more were designated to be among

the world’s best hotels by Institutional Investor magazine; that’s not mentioning the fact that a number of hotels in Rovia Select’s lineup have received awards from the likes of Zagat, Luxist and other noted authorities on high-end travel. “These are the top properties in the world,” Mike says. “These are brands like Mandarin Oriental and Ritz-Carlton, and they’re alongside a nice mix of independently owned properties. So, Rovia Select is a nice blend of brand-name hotels and local, individually owned properties.”

This year alone, Rovia Select is taking members to destinations like New Zealand and Thailand—destinations not previously available through DreamTrips Life and Luxury DreamTrips. So, for the first time ever, DreamTrippers can stay at the Matakauri Lodge in Queenstown, New Zealand; the Rayavadee Resort in Krabi, Thailand; or Las Balsas Gourmet Hotel & Spa in Patagonia, Argentina, without feeling guilty in the least.

In a world rocked by recent economic downturn, Rovia understands the importance of rest and leisure and delivers members five-star luxury for travelers on a budget. So, if you’re looking to escape the daily grind, look no further than Rovia Select. It’s just one more way Rovia is helping you Make a living… Living!

If the top-earning franchise owner came in and gave you a few pointers on how to run your franchise, you would take notes and have a recorder ready (and then have extra recorders in case you missed something).

If you were to take that same mentality of spending $500,000 on a new franchise and applied it to your Worldventures business, not only would you blow a franchise owner’s income away in five years, but if you stay committed to your business, you also wouldn’t have to work as hard as they do in the sixth year. Treat WorldVentures like a business, and results will come.

1. fundamentals result in money.A lot of people say they want to be successful, but they don’t consistently put in the work that needs to be done over time. You’ve seen those guys before. They’re the ones you absolutely knew were going to generate a lot of sales but failed to follow through.

They don’t stick with it long enough. They have this initial fire that fuels them to start, but eventually burns out. Either they simply don’t do anything, or they keep trying to find some secret loophole to having people buy and join. But even if these secrets actually do get people to join the business, it doesn’t mean they’ll work for everyone. Secrets aren’t duplicable.

Stick to the fundamentals and keep doing them consistently. You must teach a system that will duplicate so your organization will move away from you.

2. KnoW Why you’re doing it.Knowing your “why” is truly powerful. You always hear stories from WorldVentures’ top earners—but you have a story, too.

People don’t join you because of your product; people join you because of your “why.” People don’t buy what you do; they buy why you do it. People will join your business when you lead with your “why” because you have a purpose, you have a cause, and you have a mission statement. They’ll join for their own reasons, but they’ll be attracted to you. You’ll achieve your goals and they’ll achieve theirs. Ultimately, they see you going for it, right in front of them, and they’ll want to come with you!

But, before you recruit others, you have to own your “why.” So, sit down and think about why you got involved in WorldVentures.

Successful people are specific, so be as specific as possible about why you’re doing this. Writing your “why” will help you remember it longer and become more committed to it. In times of doubt, refer to it to keep you motivated.

3. commit to your Business. Ask yourself: “Am I committed to reaching International Marketing Director?” “Am I committed to being financially independent?” “Am I committed to getting rich?”

Commitment means holding absolutely nothing back, giving 100 percent of everything you’ve got to achieve wealth. It means being willing to do whatever it takes, for as long as it takes. No excuses, no ifs, no buts, no maybes. It means failure is not an option.

Most financially unsuccessful people I know have limits on how much they are willing to do, how much they are willing to risk, and how much they are willing to sacrifice. Although they think they’re willing to do whatever it takes, upon deeper questioning, I always find they have plenty of conditions around what they’re willing to do and not do to succeed.

Remember, this is a business, and building your business takes time. There are no magic bullets to becoming successful through WorldVentures.

4. treat it liKe a Business.Let’s say you open a franchise. If you want to make $100,000 a year, as a rule of thumb, it will cost you $500,000 to start it. Now, if you opened up a franchise and you just spent $500,000, you would probably take all of the training on how to run the franchise and how to make burgers pretty seriously wouldn’t you?

Together, two friends have built their team by helping others sort through their own success.

Their team is on fire. Jeff Bolf and Troy Brown are the

only ones who have reached the WorldVentures top

spot as International Marketing Directors—twice. But

you wouldn’t necessarily know it by talking to them.

While they are absolutely go-getters, Troy and Jeff

are also a couple of laidback, friendly and genuinely

humble guys from Oklahoma who have found their

success doing something they truly love. “When we

first started, we just believed what people told us was

possible, and we went to work,” Troy says. “Now, I

wake up every day and I can’t believe this is my life.”

With a friendship spanning more than two decades, the college buddies played football together at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. And yet they were at completely different points in their lives upon discovering the WorldVentures opportunity. “I knew from Day One that this was my ticket out,” Jeff says. “I had been selling insurance for about 15 years and had lost all my passion for it. When we saw this, I knew, that I knew, that I knew… this was it.”

While Jeff was struggling in the insurance business, his friend Troy was at the opposite end of the spectrum, with a successful anesthesia practice. Troy had carved out a comfortable life; the only problem was, he never had time to relax and enjoy the fruits of his labor. “I was creating a great lifestyle, but it was all for my wife,” Troy says. “She had a great lifestyle, and I was just busy all the time.”

Although, by all appearances, it would seem that the men’s circumstances nearly six years ago were worlds apart, in retrospect, maybe they weren’t so different after all. Both were yearning for freedom—one for financial freedom and the other for time freedom—and it’s what they’ve found in abundance since joining WorldVentures.

Deciding to Be Different It didn’t take much to convince Jeff and Troy to get on board. A friend had approached them about the startup, and his belief and excitement were so infectious that they were immediately taken with the new opportunity. “I just wanted to be a part of something I could be passionate about,” Jeff says. “I was ready to make something happen with someone who believed in it so much.”

Once the newly formed team made their decision, they were all in, and they never looked back. “We committed ourselves to the business for a season,” Troy says. “It’s different for everyone, but for us, it was a year. We worked as hard as we could on our WorldVentures business that first year, and in the end, it was totally worth it.” Within 13 months, they had achieved their goal of becoming International Marketing Directors for the first time. “There were times in that first year that we would be talking on the phone in the wee hours of the morning and I would either fall asleep on the phone or he would,” Jeff says. “And that’s how crazy it was. For lack of a better term, it was all-out massive action.”

If you ask them, there’s no special secret to their success. Instead, they say it can be attributed, in large part, to good, old-fashioned, nose-to-the-grindstone hard work. “We’ve been blessed with a tremendous work ethic,” Jeff says. “When we saw this could be the answer to our dreams, we went after this like most people weren’t willing to go at it.”

The tide began to turn with a simple promise they made to each other just over five years ago—that things were destined to change. “We’re not smarter or better than anyone else,” Troy says. “We just made a decision that we were going to do this. People make plans every day to do stuff, plans to lose weight, plans to work out… but plans always change. A decision doesn’t.”

“Pressure either makes people break, or it makes them break records.”

Worth the SacrificeEven with their successes mounting, that first year was not without its challenges, to say the least. “I was as down and out as a person could be when I discovered WorldVentures,” Jeff says. “I was literally broke, spiritually, financially and emotionally. Bill collectors were relentless, our house was in foreclosure, and my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. It would have been very easy to veer off the line, but I really believe those times made me stronger, mainly because I had a business partner who was always encouraging me to go on.”

No matter how much life threatened to get in the way, Jeff and Troy were resolute, and more focused than ever on achieving their goals. “For that first 12 to 15 months, we were a little out of balance because we were doing so much,” Troy says. “But we’re extremely balanced now. We don’t make decisions based on time or money anymore.”

As Jeff describes it, “Pressure either makes people break, or it makes them break records.” For he and Troy, the pressure was on to change their circumstances, and rather than sit back, they took action and propelled themselves into the stratosphere of success.

Today, life is good. Jeff’s bill collectors are ancient history, Troy replaced his anesthesia salary within about a year and a half—and no one’s trading time for dollars anymore. “When I was an anesthesiologist, by most people’s standards, I made a lot of money,” Troy says. “But if I didn’t go in that day, I made no money. And now, because of residual income, the amount of money that comes in is irrelevant. I don’t know of a better plan that that.”

Loyalty MattersNeither Jeff nor Troy can pinpoint exactly why their partnership works—it just does. In fact, when most people ask if they should start a partnership, they advise against it. “It works for us, but it’s rare,” Troy says. “Even for people who’ve had great friendships like ours for 25 or 30 years, it just doesn’t work very often.”

For one thing, they play off of each other’s strengths. And there’s no doubt that loyalty factors into the equation. Not only are they fiercely loyal to each other, but to WorldVentures as well.

There was a time early on when they were wooed by a rival company, and despite the fact that money was still tight for Jeff in those days, even the promise of cash and ready-made success wasn’t enough to lure them away. It’s a testament to the team’s character and dedication to what they had started with WorldVentures.

“People make plans every day, but plans always change. A decision doesn’t.”

The Dream LifeAnother key to the leaders’ success is their unique approach to the business. “We’re not in sales, and we’re not here to convince people to join WorldVentures,” Troy says. “We’re simply in the sorting business. And there are three sorts: those who want to do this business, those who want to build teams and those who want to lead a massive group of people to success. And whoever sorts the fastest… wins.”

No matter what success means to someone—a few extra thousand dollars a month, more time to spend with family—Jeff and Troy help people achieve those dreams. Quick success is possible, but it’s important to be realistic. And go all in. “Just be around the culture, go on a DreamTrip, go to meetings, be a part of this,” Jeff says. “Also, make a commitment to be here a year from now. This company is evolving, and within a year, it’ll be even better!”

More than anything else, keep it simple. “Most people feel like there’s something people aren’t telling them—there’s not,” Troy says. “We’re doing exactly the same stuff we did five years ago. We’re just doing it over and over and over. The only difference now is that the growth of our business does not depend on us anymore. We’re just two guys on the team.”

They believe you become a product of the five people you’re around most. “You either need to change your friends… or you need to change

your friends,” Jeff says. “It makes a difference when people are always saying you can instead of you can’t.”

Today, time freedom is no longer elusive. “I played a lot of golf before, but it was always at the same course, because I had to stay close to the hospital,” Troy says. “Now, Jeff and I have played at some of the greatest courses in the world. And even better than that, I can put my family first. My son is 3 years old; my wife and I adopted him the day he was born—and he is my alarm clock. I wake up when he wakes up. That is the coolest thing I’ve ever done in my life.”

Both men have a strong support system in place. Troy’s wife, Kathy, does the books for the partners. And Jeff’s wife, Cindy, has started to scale back her thriving real estate business so she can play a bigger role with WorldVentures. “She got tired of working 10- to 12-hour days and coming home to see me fishing with our son and daughter and earning a residual income,” Jeff says. “But it helped that our families bought into this from the start. The first couple of years, we missed some ballgames and some family functions, but now we don’t have to miss one thing. The juice is worth the squeeze. Today, we live a lifestyle that most people only dream about.”

“You either need to change your friends… or you need to change your friends.”

The art of relaxation is a difficult technique, rarely mastered. For those of you accustomed to the endless rinse and repeat of eat, sleep and work, take a moment and consider: Is that really a cycle you want to be accustomed to? On the rather safe assumption that you’ll fervently shake your head no, flex those leisure muscles, scour your brain for that alleged feeling called “serenity,” and consider the Islands of Loreto, where relaxation may not be that difficult to master after all.

Voted eighth in the New York Times’ “Top 41 Places to Go in 2011,” the Baja California town of Loreto was founded in 1697 by Jesuit missionaries and has since been a historic and well-flocked-to destination. Situated on the eastern cape of Baja, Loreto is a widely renowned fishing village and is known as the “un-Cabo” because of its unspoiled beauty and rich landscape. Loreto skirts the Sea of Cortez and is home to an abundance of wildlife, including five species of turtle, 15 species of whale, 17 species of marine birds and more than 800 species of marine life in total. Sea lions, gray whales, dolphins and countless exotic birds are not a rare sight in the islands’ scenic vistas.

Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto offers you a precious array of suites, services

and amenities unique to the destination’s “Old Mexico” atmosphere. With a dazzling view of Pacific waters from every room, morning, noon or night, let it inspire you to discover the luxuries that have allowed this resort to earn its esteemed merit.

The Mexican resort’s cuisine has helped forge that merit. Wide palate? Picky eater? No worries, because universal and picky eaters alike will find something to their liking during their stay at Villa del Palmar. Enjoy a buffet-style dining experience at The Market; authentic Italian cuisine at Casa Mia; or extravagant, specialty offerings at the Danzante steakhouse, opening late 2011. Twenty-four-hour room service is available, as well as fire pits on the beach for those who just aren’t up to standard restaurant dining.

What will you do when you check in at the islands of Loreto?

Visit your Dreamtrips website, and book your Dreamtrip to this mexican paradise today!

Loreto

Enjoy complimentary use of the resort’s fitness center, opening late 2011. Eat, drink, relax and be guilt-free while you’re at it. The center will offer a wide variety of amenities, including a yoga/Pilates studio, treadmills, free weights and strength-training stations.

There’s a world under the sea, too. Indulge yourself and imagine: Rainbows of fish tickle your sides, dart out from blots of coral and burst from niches. Sea turtles kick up sand and swim along the water’s floor. Take a day—go snorkeling. Scuba dive, if you’re among the bold. See mighty, majestic whales breach the surface of the bay on a whale-watching venture. The resort offers an abundance of activities, with your adventures limited purely by your stamina. And don’t worry about the little ones; 24-hour baby-sitting service is available upon request, or drop them off at the Kids’ Club, open for children from ages 3 up to 14.

Unwind and recharge at the Villa del Palmar Spa, also set to open late 2011. Relax with a soothing massage, offered in your room, by the pool or at the beach. De-stress and indulge with a day at the full-service beauty salon, including body wraps, facials and hydrotherapy.

The art of relaxation is not some airy, intangible concept. Let it build within you. Let it originate here, at the Islands of Loreto.

At ease, workaholic. At ease.

Beneath

Contrary to popular belief, the greenest corner of Europe may not be that clover-studded shamrock bobbing along beside the British mainland. It may not be nestled on the Atlantic edge of

the Iberian Peninsula, and it isn’t a secluded vintner’s paradise hidden in the lower Loire or upper Rhone valley. Slovenia is the name of the unexpected haven in question; and though it echoes Ireland, Portugal and others, with its vivid landscapes and rich culture, Slovenia carves its own niche into the European terrain.

Through the early part of the 20th century, the Austro-Hungarian Habsburg Empire encompassed the territory of present-day Slovenia, as did Yugoslavia in the post-WWII era. Eventually, as the Yugoslav federation dissolved, a culturally (both by language and history) distinct assembly of Slovenes emerged, an independent nation, firmly establishing Slovenia as a voice of democracy in southeastern Europe.

A year later, in 1992, Slovenia became a member of the United Nations, and then 12 years on, the Slovenes celebrated their acceptance into the European Union as well as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Hardworking and self-reliant by nature, Slovenes make up the majority of the population, with leading minorities of Italians and Hungarians, alongside token contingents of Croats, Serbs, Bosnians, Macedonians, Montenegrins and Albanians. The primary language is Slovene, followed by Italian and Hungarian, respective of the demographic areas.

For all their challenges as a young country, the Slovenes are the protectors of a deep-seated tranquility and cultural heritage. The linden tree symbolizes these virtues with an enduring grace. In fact, one of the first gatherings of Slovenian statesmen, following their

declared independence from Yugoslavia, took place beneath the sun-dappled branches of the Najevnik linden tree, which is said to be more than 700 years old. These trees are iconic of primal village gatherings, and saplings are planted to mark significant occasions.

Just as the roots of the linden tree are metaphorically wound around the foundations of Slovenian political identity, they also form the basis of a national commitment to natural resource conservation. Slovenia is the third-most forested country in Europe, and more than 30 percent of that land is protected from human development. Furthermore, visitors can experience four distinct geographic landscapes with such near proximity as can only be found in Slovenia, including the Alps, the Mediterranean, the Pannonian Plain and the Karst, which is the name for both a region and the singular geological formations found in that area’s caverns and sinkholes. The Karst region hosts the Postojna Cave, the most visited cave in Europe, and the Škocjan Caves, which are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Perhaps while spelunking in the mineral cathedrals below Slovenia’s surface, tourists may catch a faint, echoing rhythm, one that mimics the clip-clop of hooves above. Such a sound (if it could be heard

in the caves) would be the work of a unique breed of horse, none other than the famous Lipizzaner stallions, descended from a storied pedigree dating back to the late 16th century. These magnificent, white creatures catch their stride at the Lipica Stud farm, which has reared the stars of the world’s most famous equestrian ballet for centuries (originally they learned the dance of battle), and although the performers themselves may be away on tour at the time of your visit, the majesty of these animals is evident from their early days as foals prancing in the rolling Karst meadows.

Just as visitors may find that the refined characteristics of these beautiful horses harken to an older, more noble era, so also will they find serene reminders of a more medieval time in the rock-covered hills and castles birthed from their quarries. Emerging from the sylvan landscape, these monuments of man and mountain appear like barnacle-encrusted whales breaching a verdant sea.

Of course, Slovenia’s amenities extend beyond its raw, natural beauty. Consider the town of Bled, situated on an Alpine lake in the southwestern corner of Slovenia. Laying claim to the country’s only island, this community is a sanctuary to travelers and natives alike, with a cliff-dwelling castle standing guard 328 feet (100 meters)

This idyllic lakeside locale boasts an array of tourist attractions and activities, including walking trails and hiking paths throughout the surrounding mountains, as well as skiing, golfing, hunting, fishing and gambling accommodations.

Without the ostentatious landmarks and touchstone monuments of Europe’s most well-known towns, Slovenia’s communities allow guests to immerse themselves into the fabric of Slovenian life as well as the habits and pleasures of its people, not the least of which is a passion for literature that earned Slovenia’s capital, Ljubljana, the title of “World Book Capital” in 2010.

All in all, Slovenia is a remarkable combination of antiquity and modern development, a characteristic shown by Slovenian wine itself. While today’s native Slovenian vintages rank among the best in the world, the Slovenian town of Maribor also maintains a vine that has produced fruit for more than 400 years, making it the oldest-known grapevine in the world. The wine-road tour that details this veritable specimen of ancient viticulture is an absolute must for anyone wishing to taste the full bouquet of Slovenia’s riches.

Travelers are sure to find not only a country steeped in history, but also a country that is both modern and sophisticated. While its cities boast an urban nightlife fitting of any European nation in the 21st century, Slovenia’s itinerary, filled with festivals and cultural events, belies a country that knows how to stay in touch with its origins.

For those seeking new horizons within the European Union, set your sights on Slovenia as an undisturbed corner that also promises world-class accommodations, prolific outdoor activities, and cultural vibrancy unmatched in more heavily treaded destinations. It seems that this newly matured gem, nestled in the heart of Europe, is bound to embrace generations of newcomers into a love that is hidden within Slovenia’s very name.

Poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow said, “Music is the universal language of mankind.” The Élan International Music Festival, more than ever, is uniting youths across the world and stressing the exact truth of these words.

The Élan International Music Festival is a nonprofit designed to teach children from around the world how to become better musicians and better global citizens. It’s a lofty goal, definitely, and one that requires funding—which is where WorldVentures enters the picture.

WorldVentures has signed on as the Élan 2012 title sponsor, meaning the company and its Representatives can expect Élan’s performers to support WorldVentures’ efforts with the Manifest Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters and other humanitarian endeavors.

Founded in 1996 by Ronald Neal, a University of Texas at Dallas faculty member, the Élan International Music Festival is a program providing hands-on instruction to talented young musicians from around the globe. Élan’s mission is to provide a nurturing, educational environment for these musicians and to help them form lifelong learning habits in an effort to promote advanced musical development, awareness and appreciation.

Both Élan and WorldVentures are enthusiastic about this unique opportunity. “WorldVentures is all about creating significance for its members,” says Élan International Music Festival Board President Christopher Ryan. “Similarly, our mission at Élan is to create an impact that changes the slope and trajectory of these kids’ lives in a way that will forever affect them positively.”

“We’ve created this mecca where students from literally all over the world come to learn from masters,” Christopher says. “These students are becoming better violinists, pianists, cellists… whatever their instrument of choice is. They are absolutely developing their technical skills and interpersonal communication skills, and we try to help them develop life skills as well. The idea is to not only make these kids better musicians, but to give them a taste of what it means to be a good world citizen.”

Christopher is wholly invested in these children’s futures. A business entrepreneur whose charity aid has earned him respect in the humanitarian sector, Christopher is not only the board president of Élan—he’s also a parent of one of Élan’s students.

“I’ve seen my daughter, Bishop, excel as a musician, grow as a person and experience real joy through the friendships she’s developed in this program,” he says. “The value of this program, when measured in light of these benefits, is simply priceless.”

Élan doesn’t gather its musicians from a single social body—it welcomes children from across the globe with open arms. “Our program is completely based on aptitude,” Christopher says. “If you’re good enough to come, you’re coming.”

Attendees vary in age and are anywhere from 6 years old to 25. The program has included

children from Japan, China, Korea, the Philippines, the U.K. and Germany, in addition to Canada, South and Central America, and the United States. Of students who attend the program more than once, and, according to Christopher, about 10 percent of non-U.S. students and between 20 and 25 percent of U.S. students return. Because of the accrued travel

expenses, Élan gives scholarships to most of its non-U.S. students to ensure that finances don’t get in the way of what the program offers.

As a title sponsor, WorldVentures is now able to help fund these scholarship opportunities. “We [WorldVentures] are happy to be supporting Élan because their values are in line with ours,” says WorldVentures Co-Founder and Chief Visionary Officer Wayne Nugent. “We both want to develop talent and create wonderful experiences for others.”

Dallas Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster and Élan International Music Festival Artistic

Director Gary Levinson says he aims to incorporate musical teachings into these students’ lives. “Élan is about the incredible opportunities for each child,” he says. “It’s amazing to work with our faculty and to watch them work with students and see them grow. It’s unbelievable, and it’s even more gratifying for me to launch another professional musician

and really, really remember why it is that we do what we do.”

Christopher also acknowledges the beauty of what these children can offer. Take Claire, for instance, a 9-year-old girl who, when paired with a violin, creates something akin to magic. “This little girl is pulling sounds and emotion and music out of this violin that make you think she’s an old master,” he says. And then there’s Alex, a 10-year-old Chinese-American boy. “You see him rock on the piano, and even Liberace would turn over in his grave! This kid plays as hard as his muscles can deliver… and it sounds breathtaking.”

The Élan International Music Festival is aiming to maintain its current pace of growth and development. Élan International Music Festival Board President Christopher Ryan says a 50-50 ratio of U.S. and non-U.S. students is ideal and that it will concentrate on bringing in between 60 and 75 students for the 2012 festival.

The nonprofit also has its sights set on going beyond its primarily instrumental scope and bringing in vocals for the first time. “If we bring in some singers, we become more mainstream in our music appeal,” Christopher says. “We’re going to continue to develop quantity, and we’re going to broaden the scope of quality.”

The Élan International Music Festival thrives, thanks to the continued support of those who believe in expanding the program’s reach and overall impact. As a WorldVentures Representative, there’s plenty you can do to help these gifted children reach their utmost potential. Watch for them at events like Millionaire Boot Camp, Journey and View from the Edge, and keep an eye on your inbox for a WorldVentures DreamNight announcement. The possibilities are endless, and they’re easy to find if you’re looking. You’re also invited to visit ElanMusicFestival.org and donate to this worthy organization. So, get out there and help build a world where music and world-class citizenry can clasp hands and grow together.

WorldVentures’ new role as a title sponsor is an opportunity, and it’s a unique one at that. “I’m familiar with the high caliber of Élan’s other longtime supporters,” says Wayne, “and so I am incredibly honored and humbled by their selection of us as their title sponsor. They are a great organization with incredible leadership. And the memories we’re creating together are serving as a catalyst for plenty

more, all thanks to the generous nature of our Representatives who appreciate amazing music and want to help children.”

WorldVentures is looking forward to showing off Élan’s talented youth at future events, including October’s U.S. View from the Edge, the 2012 International Convention, Millionaire Boot Camp and more.

WorldVentures promotes Élan’s ambition as much as Élan promotes WorldVentures’

core values. “My belief is that WorldVentures has ‘world impact,’ ” Christopher says. “In the context of what you’re doing and what we’re doing, we are all unmistakably aligned to not only impact these kids, but to make the world a better place.”

The title sponsorship is generating mutual excitement; it’s an opportunity that will

allow WorldVentures and Élan’s places to grow and experience a humanitarian impact. “WorldVentures is incredibly caring, giving and fun,” Christopher says. “That combination tells me this is a family of people willing to support, help and create some level of betterment in whatever it is they’re doing. This is about giving these kids more choices, more opportunity and more breadth-of-life experience so they can do whatever it is they want to do.”

it’s aBout time! TipS To Manage Your TiMe—anD FinD SucceSS by Tori Brown

checkList

1. plan your schedule. The first (and most important) step in managing your time is to organize and schedule your day, your week and your month. In fact, set aside an hour each month just to prepare your upcoming schedule—yes, you need a plan to plan! And when you’re arranging your calendar, make sure to be specific and include measurable goals, like making 10 calls or sending 10 emails during your set time frame. Include both work and personal activities for an all-encompassing agenda. Once you’ve set organized, pre-scheduled time blocks for work and for play, you’ll feel more in control and less stressed.

2. find your prime time. Are you a morning person or a night owl? We all have a time of day when we’re most alert and most efficient. Capitalize on your “prime time” and make it your WorldVentures time. For example, for early birds, block out Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. through 10 a.m. to make phone calls, schedule appointments or send emails so you can make use of your more productive morning energy. You can accomplish twice as much when you’re in your prime-time productivity zone. Of course, keep in mind that your potential prospects may not keep the same hours, so limit phone calls to respectable daytime hours.

3. evaluate your activities. Create an activity log with all of your daily activities and the amount of time that it takes you to accomplish each one. This will help you plan your all-important schedule, and bring to light some time-saving and time-draining activities.

4. involve your family. Include your family in your master plan by showing them your schedule and calendar and explaining why it’s important for you to spend the allotted time working. Be sure to point out that you have fun time scheduled with them, too! If you have children, set them up with activities (like reading, an art project or a movie to watch) while you’re working and reward them for letting you work in peace. Also, try setting a kitchen timer so your children can see exactly when you’ll be finished with work time and can enjoy some family time.

If it feels like there just aren’t enough hours in the day to accomplish everything your

frenzied life requires, you’re far from alone. The trick is knowing how to make the most of the hours—or even minutes—that you do have. These simple, yet proven, time-management tips can help even the busiest person find success in WorldVentures.

5. get up early. Create more hours in your day by simply getting up earlier. And, by the way, if you also go to bed one hour earlier instead of watching television (not the most productive use of your time), you won’t miss any sleep. Getting up just one hour earlier each day for an entire year will generate a whopping 10 additional workweeks!

6. use your daily life. As you know, you can find prospects everywhere you go—the grocery store, the gas station, your favorite restaurant. It’s a great way to interact with potential prospects while going about your daily activities. Keep WorldVentures sales aides with you at all times so you can take advantage of these opportune moments—and you don’t even have to schedule extra time for it!

7. sticK With it. Sticking with your schedule will set you up for success in all aspects of your life. Don’t take on additional obligations not on your carefully planned schedule, especially if they could take away from your WorldVentures or your family time. In other words, learn to say no. Keeping your schedule under control, meaning not over-scheduling and not varying from your plan, will establish a feeling of order and a sense of calm… something we could all use a little more of.

time management = success The No. 1 indicator of sales success is, no doubt, time management. And how do you conquer time management? You schedule the heck out of it. So get your calendar under control, and stick with it! Because, really, it’s all about time—and you have more of it than you even realize!

International Marketing Director David Pietsch says one of the keys to success is knowing your “why.” More than anything else, your personal why will sell people on joining you and WorldVentures. Could you explain your why within two minutes? If not, write down the advice on page 15. You’ll have it in your back pocket when you need a quick reminder, and it’ll help keep you motivated.

In “A Winning Season,” on page 16, double IMDs Jeff Bolf and Troy Brown believe you’re a product of the five people you’re around the most. Who are the five closest people to you? Dear WorldVentures Representatives,

What can one person do to make a difference in the life of another?

In the case of Dallas-based Representative Janet Keiffer, a lot. Janet had a 2000 Saab she’d been trying to sell for months; unsuccessful, she looked into the possibility of donating it. Then, while sitting at WorldVentures’ 2011 International Convention and hearing about the Manifest Foundation, Janet realized something. “It suddenly struck me,” she said. “The Manifest Foundation is my charity. Maybe there’s a way I can somehow support Manifest with my car.”

The Manifest Foundation is not set up to take on the legal responsibilities of car donations. Janet, however, remained open to other options, and I promised to work with her through our current partnership networks to find the best solution. One phone call to our respected U.S.-based Impact Partner Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Texas President and CEO Charles Pierson ended in a miracle for Sherry Robinson of Fort Worth, Texas—a single, hardworking mother who supports three of her five children and three grandchildren.

Sherry’s car had broken down about six weeks prior. Without the means to fix it, she’d been borrowing rides and taking the bus to work, where she is an office manager for a medical clinic. “Basic needs like groceries and getting the kids to school were challenging enough,” she told me. “Then, my co-workers made fun of me, saying, ‘What’s it like taking a donkey to work?’ I just knew I had to keep faith and keep working and praying.”

Sherry’s son, Rodderick, has been a “Little” with BBBS since the third grade. He’s a senior in high school this year with a 3.1 GPA and a good part-time job, thanks to the ongoing mentoring, support and community of BBBS. “Before BBBS, I got into trouble often and was going down the wrong road. It’s helped me in all areas of my life,” he said.

On Saturday, July 16, 2011, Janet Keiffer’s car, her desire to give back, became an answered prayer and huge blessing to Sherry and her family.

Your monthly or one-time donation at ManifestFoundation.org helps us manifest better lives for children and families around the globe! Join us, and help the Manifest Foundation’s circle of influence grow.
