Guard and Tackle Technique
• The guard and tackle will combo versus an odd front
• They will read the DT and progress to the ILB• Guard
– If the DT stays straight or wide – go to ILB– If the DT comes inside – wheel him into backfield
• Tackle – If the DT stays straight or wide – wheel him into
backfield– If the DT comes inside – punch him and go to ILB
TE Technique
• Step to the play side and cup to the sally side
• Block the DE unless he rushes hard past your outside shoulder. If this case arises – slap him and release up field.
