SPARKLING WINESEstablished by the Barnes family in 1969 starting with just one acre the Biddenden Vineyards have since grown to 23 acres growing eleven varieties of grapes. Set on a gentle, south facing slope in a shallow, sheltered valley the vineyard provides ideal conditions for ripe flavourful grapes.

BURGUNDY The Bourgogne region enjoys an exceptional combination of factors that enable the area to produce some of the worlds best wines. Perfect weatherfor growing ripe, flavourful grapes and rich soils combine to become over 100 appellations that are recognised around the world. Located in the east-central part of France, Burgundy has 5 wine growing areas: Chablis, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise, Mâconnais. . These top regions produce very complex Burgundies.

BORDEAUX The white grapes commonly grown in Bordeaux include Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, Muscadelle, Colombard and Ugni Blanc, although most white Bordeaux are a blend of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. There are two major styles of white Bordeaux produced, light & fruity styles make up the majority but rich & creamy whites are produced in Pessac-Leognan.

GRAVES AND PESSAC-LÉOGNANThis area of the Graves is located just south of the city of Bordeaux. AUSTRALIA Australia is fast becoming one of the world’s most prolific and highly awarded wine producers in the New World wine market. The major red varieties are predominantly Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir. A common blend for the red in Australia is the GSM blend of Grenache, Shiraz, and Mourvèdre. This blend originated from those used in some Southern Rhône wines, including Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

SOUTH AFRICASouth African wine has a history dating back to 1659 with Constantia, a vineyard near Cape Town, being considered one of the greatest wines in the world. Traditionally South African red wines had a reputation for being coarse in texture with rustic flavours. Today Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Pinotage have risen to prominence with Cabernet Sauvignon being the most widely grown red grape variety.
