Gorgeous aromas of eucalyptus, blackcurrant, berries and stones. A medium to full body, fine tannins and tension. Firm, caressing texture. Better in 2017. 95 points 2012 EMILIANA VALLE DE COLCHAGUA COYAM A fascinating blend of syrah (38%), carménère (31%), merlot (19%), cabernet sauvignon (10%), mourvèdre (1%) and malbec (1%). Beautiful aromas of dark fruit, walnuts and almonds. A full body, extremely integrated tannins and a long, caressing finish. Made from biodynamically grown grapes. 95 points 2014 ERRAZURIZ CHARDONNAY ACONCAGUA COSTA LAS PIZARRAS A new wine from Errazuriz that sets a new standard for chardonnay in Chile. This is tight and dense, with gunpowder, slate, sliced apple, white pineapple and a hint of pie crust. A full body, and gorgeous texture and length. Needs at least five years to come out but has great potential. 96 points 2013 VIÑEDO CHADWICK CABERNET SAUVIGNON VALLE DE ACONCAGUA This pure cabernet sauvignon shows wonderful subtle eucalyptus and blackcurrant character, with cold stones, too. It’s firm and linear with a full body, compacted tannins, and a lightly chewy and tangy finish. A red with form and strength. Better in 2020. 98 points 2012 VILLARD SYRAH VALLE DE CASABLANCA TANAGRA An extreme wine that shows amazing aromas of tar, dried meat, flowers and hints of fruit. A full body, super long and structured, with subtle fruit and a fresh finish that goes on for minutes. Made from head-pruned vines.
