Section 1: Pre-Server Configuration Checklist

By now you should have received all your equipment. You should also have the network-cabling run, and have a high-speed Internet connection (if desired) properly provisioned and installed.

Our Sales team should have advised the dealership of the server requirements prior to purchase, and all of the proper equipment should be present.

Section 2: Initial Server Configuration

NOTE: The server must have the IP Address set up, and must be plugged in to a switch for Lightspeed to install properly.

This information must ALL be correct for the system to function properly

Below is the preferred system and network configuration: 1. The hard drives should be configured with RAID 5.

2. The C:\ partition will be 12GB in size.

3. The D:\ partition will be the remainder of the hard drive.

4. The E:\ drive will be the CDROM drive.

5. The server’s IP address should be 192.168.1.10

6. The workgroup should be set to workgroup.

7. The server will be licensed on a Per-Device basis

8. The administrator password should be set to server.

9. Set the server name to LSSERVER.

10. DO NOT install 2003 Service Pack 1. If this is installed, then uninstall it.

Section 3: Pre Setup programs

Windows Server™ 2003 Patch

Before installing any programs, you need to install the Windows Server2003 KB823874 patch. To install this, simply double click on the executable, and click next. The program will install itself.

Windows Server 2003 HASP Driver

NOTE: The HASP must be connected before beginning this installation.

1. Launch the program, and click Next at the welcome screen

2. Click Next at installation Status.

3. Click Finish to complete the driver installation.

Section 4: Installing Terminal Services

You can now install the necessary software components to run Lightspeed Turbo. Section 4 will focus on the Terminal Services section of the software setup.

Remove Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration

Windows Server 2003 servers come with Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration pre-installed on them. This program causes problems with Fiche Finder, and needs to be removed.

To remove Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration:

1. Click on Start ~ Control Panel ~ Add/Remove Programs.

2. On the Add/Remove Programs screen, click the Add/Remove Windows components button at the left.

This displays the Windows Components Wizard.

3. Remove the check mark from Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration.

4. Do NOT click next. Continue directly to the next section to install terminal services.

(If you got ahead and completed the removal, return to the Add/Remove screen and then continue below.)

Install Terminal Services After deselecting IEESC, but while still in the Windows Components Wizard screen, you are able to start the Terminal Services installation.

To install Terminal Services:

1. Scroll down and put check marks in both Terminal Services and Terminal Services Licensing.

2. Click Next.

3. Click Next at the wizard.

4. Choose Relaxed Security.

5. Click Next, then finish. This completes the Terminal Services setup.

6. Reboot if prompted.

Once the installation has finished, do the following to complete the Terminal services installation.

1. Click on Start. ~ Administrative Tools ~ Terminal Services Client Configuration.

2. Right click on RDP-TCP, choose Properties.

This displays the RDP-TCP Properties screen.

3. Click the Sessions tab.

4. Check Override user settings, and set the disconnect session limit to 10 minutes.

5. Click the Remote Control tab.

6. Choose Use remote control with the following settings:

8. Click the Client Settings tab.

9. Disable the following:

o Windows printer mapping

o LPT Port mapping

o Com Port Mapping

o Audio Mapping

10. Click the Permissions tab.

11. Grant the Everyone group full control.

12. Click OK.

Edit System Properties and Group Policies

Before installing the Lightspeed software, you must first make some policy changes.

1. Right click My Computer, and choose Properties.

2. Click the Remote tab, and then click on the Group Policy hyperlink.

The Group Policy Screen will open

3. Browse to Computer Configuration ~ Administrative Templates ~ Printers.

4. Double click Disallow installation of printer using kernel-mode drivers and disable it.

5. Then browse to User Configuration ~ Administrative Templates ~ Control Panel ~ Display.

Disable the Following:

o Screen Saver

o Screen Saver executable name

o Password protect the screen saver

o Screen Saver timeout

Close the Group policy editor screen

6. Back in the System Properties screen, click on the Advanced tab.

7. Click the Settings button under Performance.

8. Click the Advanced tab.

9. Select Background services.

This completes the initial server configuration and Terminal Server setup. Continue to the next section to install pcAnywhere.

Section 5: Installing pcAnywhere

Now that the server is up and on the network, install pcAnywhere so that our technical support teams can assist you with the Lightspeed install by remote connection if needed.

NOTE: You must have a dedicated Internet connection or a modem in place before installing pcAnywhere.

Install pcAnywhere

1. Find the ADP Lightspeed Software Release CD and place it in the CD-ROM drive. (This is also included on the Installation Companion CD).

NOTE: If ‘auto-run’ is enabled on you machine, your server may try to load the Lightspeed DMS software automatically. If this happens, cancel the Lightspeed installation program to return to your desktop.

2. Double click on ‘My Computer.’

3. Right click on the CD-ROM Drive and then left click on Explore.

4. Double Click on the pcAnywhere folder.

5. Double Click on ‘Setup’ to start the installation program.

6. Click Next on the welcome screen.

7. Accept the license agreement.

8. Enter the user as the username, and ADP Lightspeed as the company information. Then click Next.

9. Choose Typical and click Next.

10. Click Install to begin the program installation.

11. Click Finish to complete the installation.

12. Reboot when asked.

Section 6: Installing the Lightspeed DMS on the Server

Now that Windows is properly configured on the server, you can begin the installation of your new Lightspeed software.

Install the Lightspeed DMS

1. Open My Computer, and open the E:\ drive.

2. Double click on SETUP.EXE.

When the program installation wizard loads you will see the following screen.

1. At the welcome screen, choose your version of Lightspeed. Click Next.

8. Choose Terminal Services, and click Next.

9. Make sure All Boxes are checked and click Next.

NOTE: You may get a message prompting you to load to drive D:\. If you do, please let it install on that drive.

10. Leave the destination directories at default, and click Next.

11. The program should ask to share the Bell & Howell directory. Click Yes.

12. Click Next to begin the installation.

13. Enter your dealer ID and password

14. When asked to setup the licensing, click on Yes.

At this point, you will need to contact our sales admin department at 1 800 521-0309. They will ask you for some specific information from the server, and then fax you your license info.

2. The license information from Sales Admin includes the number of users. Enter the number here, and click Next.

The licensing service starts.

3. Click on the OK button to continue.

The Bell & Howell Product Licensing screen is displayed.

4. Give the Dealer Key and Computer Name information to your Sales Admin.

The Sales Admin will now Fax you the Price Book Subscription List.

Here is an example of how the Price Book Subscription List relates to the License screen.

The area circled on the Price Book Subscription List is the information needed for the licensing screen.

Once you have verified the dealer key is the same, enter the data into the Product Licensing screen.

5. Enter the number of Users from the Price Book Subscription List into the field marked Number of Licenses.

6. Enter the Expiration Date from the upper right hand field of the Price Book Subscription List into the Expiration Date field on the licensing screen.

7. Look at the Modules section of the Price Book Subscription List and put check marks in the appropriate boxes under Modules on the licensing screen.

8. Enter the Authorization number from the Price Book Subscription List in the Authorization Password field on the licensing screen.

9. When you have finished your entries, click on the Apply Button.

The system will pause for a few moments. You should see the “License has been installed” feedback box.

10. Click OK.

11. Click the Close button on the licensing screen.

NOTE: If the license fails to install correctly (license verification failed -8), please continue through the rest of the installation. When you are finished you can click Start ~ Programs ~ ProQuest ~ ProQuest Powersports DMS Licensing. This will bring you back to the license screen. Double check your information and try again. If you still fail, contact System Operations at (800) 521-0339 Option 2, Option 3, or Daren Gleed at (801) 519-7692.

Add Terminal Server Users

The “Add Terminal Server Users” dialog box is displayed automatically when the licensing screen is closed. Continue in the Add Terminal Server Users screen.

NOTE: We suggest that you add 10 additional users to your total number of licensed users.

For example if you have 6 users you would want to add users 1 to 16. This will allow for future expansion of your business, and will not affect your user licensing in any way.

1. Enter the number of users you need (actual users + 10) and then click the Add User button.

When finished adding users, click the X to close the window.

2. Click Finish to complete the installation.

3. This displays a reboot prompt.

4. Click OK to reboot.

Section 7: Test the Program Installation

1. Click on Start ~ Programs ~ ProQuest ~ ProQuest Powersports DMS.

You should see the following screen.

2. Enter the password lightspeed (all lower case) to open the program.

If you were able to run and access the Lightspeed program the installation was successful. You may close the program and continue with the installation.

Section 8: Installing FicheFinder

For this installation you will need 2 things:

• Your ProQuest FicheFinder V 4.4 CD

• A HASP for the back of the server.

Begin by installing the HASP if it is not already plugged in to the back of your server. This is a security device that must be connected to the server in order for FicheFinder to work.

Your hasp will look similar to the one pictured here.

Plug the HASP into the Parallel Port on the back of the server.

NOTE: The HASP is a ‘Pass-Through” device, meaning it has both a male and a female connection on it. If you would like to install a parallel printer on the server, the printer cable should be plugged into the HASP, not the port directly.

1. Insert the FicheFinder 4.4 CD into the CD-ROM drive.

The install program should auto-run. If it does not, browse the CD and select Setup.

2. At the welcome screen, click on the OK button to begin the installation process.

3. Click NO when asked to read the release notes.

Installing the Fiche Finder Data CD’s

For this you will need:

• Your Fiche Finder OEM Data CD’s

MAKE SURE ALL USERS ARE LOGGED OFF OF THE SYSTEM!

1. Place a data CD into the CD-ROM drive of the server.

2. Double click on My Computer, go to the E:\ drive, and run Setup.exe

3. Click OK to close the welcome screen and start the setup.

4. Click OK.

5. Click NO. When asked to read the release notes.

Repeat these steps for ALL of the OEM data CDs that you have.

Speed Enhancing the Fiche Finder Data

All manufacture CD’s must be ‘Speed Enhanced’ before using Fiche Finder

NOTE: This process will take some time to complete. Do not Speed Enhance data during business hours, unless you can afford to have ALL your employees off of Fiche Finder for at least an HOUR!

1. To begin, place Disk 1 of your OEM CD

into the CD-ROM drive.

2. Click Start ~ Programs, ~ Bell & Howell, ~ Speed Enhancer.

3. Click on the check box next to each product you wish to install to place a check in the box.

NOTE: If you have more than one hard drive you will be prompted to select a drive to install on to. Choose the drive with the most free space available, as shown in the Space Available section on the right side of the dialog box.

4. After all the appropriate boxes are checked, click the Copy Button.

5. After the copy is complete, click OK to finish the installation.

Repeat these steps for each OEM for which you have data.

Section 9: Installing the PCDB

Once all the programs are installed, we can install your pre-configured database (PCDB). You may have been given a CD with the database information on it. If not, contact the Lightspeed implementation team to have it uploaded into your system.

Note: You must complete the PCDB installation before installing price books in the next step. If you cannot install the PCDB at this time, you may skip to section 11 and return to this section and the price book installation later.

To install the preconfigured database:

1. Explore the CD

2. Open the dealer PCDB Folder.

3. Copy All information into: *\Program Files\Bell & Howell\Database.

Section 10: Installing the Price Books

In this section you will install price books onto your Lightspeed server.

To begin you need the following:

• The Lightspeed Price Book CD

• The Price Book Subscription List.

NOTE: Price Book loading takes on average 45 minutes to an hour.

NOTE: All users must be out of the Lightspeed program before loading price books.

Here again is an example of what your Price Book Subscription List looks like.

To load your subscribed price books onto your system:

1. Insert the Price Book CD that you received into the CD-ROM drive on the server.

2. Click Start ~ Programs ~ ProQuest ~ ProQuest Powersports DMS Zyupdate

NOTE: You may get an error when trying to run Zyupdate.exe. If this happens click on the KILL USERS button, and then click OK.

There are two lists on this screen. Available Price Books, and Authorized Price Books.

3. Look at your Price Book Subscription List. The section on the left shows all of your authorized Price Books.

4. Find the first price book from your subscription list in the Available Price Books section of the loading screen. You may need to scroll to locate the price book.

NOTE: Check the price book names carefully. Many price books are published with multiple instances that differ slightly. It is important that you select the one to which you are subscribed.

5. Click once to highlight the price book, and then click on the Subscribe Button.

You should then see this screen.

6. Enter the Expiration Date and Password shown on your subscription list for the selected price book.

7. Click OK.

Repeat these steps until all the price books on your Price Book Subscription List are in the Authorized Price Books Section of the window.

This lists all of your subscribed price books.

8. After listing all of your authorized price books, highlight all the price books in the Authorized Price Book section by clicking once on the top price book in the list, holding the Shift key and clicking again on the bottom price book. This should highlight all the price books in the Authorized price book section.

9. Once all the price books are highlighted, click on the Install button on the top of the screen. This starts the installation.

NOTE: The installation can take some time to complete. PLEASE WAIT UNTIL ALL PRICBOOKS ARE LOADED BEFORE CONTINUING.

The price book load will be complete when you see the following message

Click OK, and then remove the Price Books CD from your CD-ROM, and close the loading screen.

Section 11: Veritas® Backup Exec™ Software Installation

This section explains how to install the Veritas Tape Backup system on a Windows 2003 server, and how to configure it to do backups.

Program Installation

To begin:

1. Insert the Veritas CD

The install should begin automatically. If not, explore the CD and run Browser.exe.

2. Choose English and click OK.

3. Click on the installation link.

4. Click on Start Backup Exec Installation.

6. Accept the license agreement, and click Next.

7. Choose Local Install, and Install backup Exec software and options. Click Next.

8. Enter the license information and click the Add button. Then click Next.

9. Leave everything at default, and click Next.

10. Leave Administrator as the user name, and enter server as the password. Click Next.

11. Keep the default database setting, and click Next.

12. Choose Use Veritas device drivers for all tape devices. Click Next.

13. Click the Install link to begin the program installation.

The program begins to install.

14. After the program installs, remove the check boxes from both Run the Veritas Online Registration Wizard system restarts and View ReadMe after system restarts.

15. Click Finish to reboot the server.

Backup Program Configuration Once the server reboots, open the Veritas program from the icon on the desktop. Once the program opens, the First Time Startup Wizard will open automatically.

1. Click Next at the welcome screen.

2. Click Next at the media management screen.

3. When asked if you want to customize your media sets, choose Yes. Click Next.

4. Click Next at the media set wizard.

5. Choose Create a new media set.

6. Name the media set LSBackup. Click Next.

7. When asked how long to keep the data from being overwritten, choose 1 day. Click Next.

8. Choose Infinite in the Set the Append Period wizard. Click Next.

9. Click Next at the Media Set Summary screen.

10. Click Finish to complete the Media Set Wizard.

11. Choose the Overwrite scratch media option.

12. Choose a partial protection level.

13. Click Next at the Device Configuration Wizard.

14. Your backup tape drive will appear in the backup devices field. Click Next.

15. The Backup to Disk Folders field should be blank. Click Next.

16. Verify that your tape drive shows up on the Drive Configuration screen and click Next.

17. Click finish to complete the device configuration wizard.

18. Choose Select an existing logon account and click Next.

19. Make sure to choose the System Logon Account. (This should be the default option.) Click Next.

20. Click finish to complete the logon account wizard.

Job Setup

Once the first time startup wizard completes, it should bring you to the main Veritas screen.

1. Click on Job Setup, and then click on New Job.

2. Under selection, choose D:\Bell & Howell, and select the following:

a. Database folder

b. FormGen folder

c. Variable Reports folder

d. Zybis.cfg file.

3. Click on Devices and Media, and choose your tape device. (Usually called Dell1.)

4. Click on General, and name the job Lightspeed Backup.

5. Click on Pre/Post Command. Enter C:\utilities\ungrip.bat in the Pre-command field.

6. Enter C:\utilities\lsbackup.bat in the Post-command field.

7. Remove all checkmarks accept Run post-command even if job fails.

8. Select the on this media server option.

9. Click on Schedule, and choose Run according to schedule.

This will automatically display the scheduling screen.

10. Click on Week Days, and click the Select All button. Then remove the checkmarks from the days of the week that you are closed. Click OK.

11. Back at the backup job properties screen, click on the Submit button.

This completes the Veritas setup.
