12:43:12 PDT
Question: I couldn't get this question typed in time, but maybe queue this up for later. What I wanted to ask was: "In
the business world, people are generally really used to having open multiple windows and having the ability to drag & drop data onto windows, as well as toggle between them. What is a good way to provide a similar functionality with the new style restriction of one (or two) windows, ie. how would/could a drag and drop like functionality be implemented?" Answer: Great question Tony! In windows store apps drag and drop is not allowed outside the app. However you
may employ the use of the Share Contract to perform similar functionality across two apps. Just to note; you may still use drag and drop gestures within a single app; ie moving items from one list/grid to another.
12:46:14 PDT
Question: For all business app developers. Here is an excellent guidance on how to use Prism for Windows
Runtime: http://prismwindowsruntime.codeplex.com/ Answer: Sharing
13:20:13 PDT
Question: i think we cannot talk about Windows in Windows store apps. talk about just a window but this Window
(app) talks other Windows (apps). this is great function and better than old Windows apps. Answer: Yes, that's the idea. Each app is a focused experience. Snap views allow some multi-tasking, and those will
be covered in more detail tomorrow.
13:52:00 PDT
Question: Thanks awsomedevsigner! Used Prism in a win 7 business project so it is nice to know. Answer: Sharing...

simulator would be installed with Microsoft Visual Studio 2012, which you can download the Express version of for free here:http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/eng/products/visual-studio-express-products Answer: Sharing

Question: Frankly as a long-time SQL DBA/Sharepoint Admin/Developer I'm not wholly sold on Win8. Much of it is
excellent but some of it is irritating. Contracts allowing app-to-app communications is the single most powerful change - in my opinion. But ... I have a [very] wide screen so that I allows me to show two screens - one for Visual Studio [source code] and another to view the results. It can be done in Win 8, but works better in Win 7. Answer: Sharing
11:15:03 PST
Question: Any chance of similar event for WP8 UX? This is very informative and great stuff! Answer: LOVE this idea and I'm absolutely looking into providing this sort of event. Thanks for the suggestion. Stay
tuned to MVA and @MSVirtAcademy for announcements.
11:15:56 PST
Question: Are these sessions being recorded? Hopefully so, since it'd be nice to reference them later. Answer: Absolutely! All Jump Starts are recorded and posted to MVA within a week or so. We hope all of you make it
a habit to explore MVA regularly!
