Using Handwriting Recognition Software

Windows 7 allows you to use your Tablet PC pen to write on the screen and convert it to text.  To use this feature, hover your pen above the screen.  You will see either a small icon on the screen or a tab that appears on the left side of the screen.  Click on either item (see diagram).

A text box will appear on the screen.  Write on the line.  Microsoft will automatically recognize the text.  There are four correction methods for fixing mistakes.  Click on the appropriate icon at the top of the box for a quick diagram on how to correct, delete, split, or join a word (see diagram).

When you are finished writing, click the insert tab to place the text in your document.  Click the red X to close out the handwriting recognition software.
