Installation Procedure for MATLAB(matlabr2011a) Software
Redundant clients-Windows XP-SP2/Vista/Windows 7
Download:
• win32.rar or win64.rar (for 64 bit system)
• PLP
• "license.dat" from http://mirror.iitd.ernet.in/matlab into Your Desired Folder.
STEPS: Installation of MATLAB Software for window XP/VISTA / Windows 7
Get administrator privileges for the system on which you plan to install MATLAB.
Use WinRAR to extract RAR file
1. Start the installer
For Windows, double-clicking on setup.exe
2. On the first screen, select “Install manually without the Internet” and click next

3. Do you accept the terms of the license agreement? Yes, Click Next.
4. Provide File Installation Key, “I have my File Installation Key” (PLP) and enter
theFile Installation Key

5. Choose a Typical installation and click Next or Custom to create desktop shortcut
6. Specify Installation folder and Click Next

Specify the name of the folder where you want to install MathWorks products. You can
accept the default installation folder or specify the name of a different installation folder,
if the folder doesn’t exist, the installer creates it
7. Enter the path or browse to the “processed” license.dat file
Enter the full path of your License File in the text box (or drag and drop the file) and
click Next

8. Review the list of products to be installed and confirm your installation settings by
clicking Install.
To change a setting, click Back. To proceed with the installation, click Install.
As it copies files to your hard drive, the installer displays a status dialog box to show the
progress of the installation.

9. Installer will select by default files, select Desktop option to create Desktop
shortcut.(Custom Only)
10. Your installation may require additional configuration steps, See the notes…: Next

11. Your Installation Complete: Click Finish
When the MathWorks installer finishes, it displays the Installation Complete dialog box.
Click Finish to exit the installer.

12. After completing installation remove "network.lic" file from your machine which is
situated in "C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2010a\licenses".
(If you haven't change default installation folder path.) 1. Click right Button on My
Computer
Select Properties……..>Advanced System settings …….>Environment
Variables…>New
The environment variable that should be added is as follows:
Variable_ name: MLM_LICENSE_FILE
Variable_value:[email protected], [email protected], 27000@
licmanager.cse.iitd.ernet.in.

10. Enter the following lines in your
C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file
10.7.173.31 licmngr1.iitd.ernet.in
10.7.173.32 licmngr2.iitd.ernet.in
10.20.3.30 licmanager.cse.iitd.ernet.in
