Windows 10 VPN ConfigurationInstructions Picture Guide (click picture to enlarge)

Click on the network icon in the bottom right hand side of thescreenClick on "Network Settings

On the following screen, select "VPN" from the left hand sideClick on "Add a VPN Connection"

Enter the following details

VPN provider: Windows (built-in)Connection name: UoE L2TP VPNServer name or address: vpn2.net.ed.ac.ukVPN type: Layer 2 Tunnelling Protocol with IPsec(L2TP/IPsec)Type of sign-in info: Username and passwordLeave everything else blank and select "Save"

After you have saved the connection, click on "Changeadapter options"On the following page, right Click on UoE L2TP VPN andselect "Properties"

Click on the "Security" tabFor "Type of VPN" select "Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol withIPsec (L2TP/IPSec)"For "Data Encryption" select "Require encryption(disconnect if server declines)"Click on "Allow these protocols"Select "Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol(CHAP)"Select "Microsoft CHAP Version 2"Click on "Advanced Settings"

In the "Advanced Properties" window, select "Use presharedkey for authentication", and for "Key": enter "playfair"Click "OK" to close both windows

Back in the VPN window, click on the UoE L2TP VPNconnection and select "Connect"When it asks for your credentials, enter your UUN and yourVPN password.
