IntroductionGoal
To generate enough energy to light a 75-watt light bulb.
-To design a clean and safe operating windmill with the approximate dimensions of .5mx.5mx.8m
-Windmill must will be operated with out human interaction once started.
Materials
House hold items Cooper/ Tin wire (1500ft) Cardboard box Brass rods ( 12 inches ) Hot glue Styrofoam Canada Dry Cans ( bc Olivia is Canadian)

Mech. Intro The Fan:
The Gears, Shaft, and Washers: Generator:
How it works•In electromagnetic generator s they don’t pull electricity from nothing.
•It uses the mechanical energy from the moving magnets and then converts it to electrical energy.
•It does this by electromagnetic induction • Which is the reverse conversion of
electrical energy into mechanical energy is done by a motor. i.e. car motors
•A generator forces electrical charges to move through an external electrical circuit, The electricity is already in the wire the magnets just move it

Electrical Intro:
Calculations Equations
KE = 1/2ρ(L*A)v2
P(calculated) = 1/2ρAv3
Actual P = IV
Efficiency = η
η =[(Actual)/(Calculated)] * 100
Symbols
V = Voltage
P = Power(watts)
I = Current(Amps)
Rho (ρ )= density of air
T = time
A = Area
L = Length
v = wind velocity
Summary As the project states we have build a windmill.
With a number of people moving to a green world wind power is becoming very big.
Windmills use wind to rotate a fan and that fan then produces electricity via electromagnetic generator.
The generator functions as described before.

ConclusionConstruction Issues and Design Fails-Original wire was not long enough
-box was too small to house both gears and generator-gears required too much force to spin the propeller-Too much insulation for the magnets to transfer electrical current to the wire
Time Management-We started designing our windmill right off the bat.
-We met as a group about 3 times, and worked individually on some parts too. -We spent about $20 on the materials.- Logan and I went to buy the materials. We all contributed the the building, and PowerPoint.
