DESCRIPTION
Women in Need, an organization that runs programs and shelters for homeless women and their children in NYC wanted to rebrand themselves to better reflect their work with both women and children. This was a pro bono job that resulted in a new logo, new language and a renewed sense of mission.

Our Message
What does it mean to win?
It means crossing the finish line at the end of every day and knowing that this is a victory. For yourself. And for your kids. And the finish line—well, maybe it’s simply the threshold of your own place. A place that’s yours because you’ve earned it. By working hard and by exceeding even your own expectations.

What does it mean to win?
It means doing more than you ever thought you could. Being bolder. Thinking bigger. And discovering not a handout—but a way out. A way up. A way to work toward something better. Something that is suddenly within reach because now someone believes in you. So you can believe in yourself.

What does it mean to win?
It means feeling safe. Feeling secure and knowing that you don’t have to keep looking over your shoulder, so you can focus on what’s ahead. On where you are going. On where you want to be. On who you want to be. Who you can be. For your kids and for yourself. You can do it. You know you can. Because now, you know how to win.

The Way to WIN is a comprehensive program that works to break the cycle of homelessness. Much more than simply a physical shelter, WIN offers a holistic approach with services ranging from childcare, health and education programs to afterschool tutoring, job training and financial counseling. Together, we can help women regain control of their lives so they can take care of themselves and their children. And that’s what it means to WIN.

The Way to WIN
The Way to WIN isn’t easy. It takes hard work. And we know no one can go it alone. Winning is what we do together. It’s how we come together and it’s how we stay together. It’s a road we walk hand in hand. Not just part way—but all the way home. That’s The Way to Win.
Because we know that if someone believes in you, it’s a whole lot easier to believe in yourself. And that when you truly believe in yourself, anything is possible.
And that’s why we’re here. To make things possible. For mothers and their children. Things like a safe place to sleep, childcare, education, services and special programs that aren’t a hand out, but a way out. A way out of homelessness. A way out of hopelessness. A way to break the cycle and to give mothers and their children reasons to be proud of themselves and to feel good about who they are and where they are going. A way to celebrate the little victories and the tremendous changes that can and do happen every day. That’s the Way to WIN.
