Congratulations to the Kluck family for July’s Co-Yard of the Month.

Michael and Janette Kluck have been Willowbridge residents since 1995 and are the original owners of their home at 8827 Wilbarger. Michael is very excited for Janette who works very hard keeping their yard in tiptop shape. Janette is also a block captain.

Your board members have heard your concerns regarding the difficulties in reserving tennis courts during times of high usage. As a result, a new reservation system is now being used to reserve tennis courts. The following excerpt is a summary of how to use the new system and can be found in our Tennis Rules. The complete Tennis Rules document can be found on our website at www.willowbridgehoa.com.

Courts to be reserved for play: Courts must be reserved for play online at http://www.willowbridgehoa.com/. Court reservations shall be governed in the following manner:

The reservation system is a “lottery” type system. All players must request a playing time and date. All residents requesting court time for any singles or doubles play (2 or 4 players only) must list each name and member tag of those to play at the requested time. Guests must also be placed on the reservation request. Prime time court assignments will be selected by the reservation system’s random draw five (5) days prior to the date of play. Deadline for reservation requests will be at 11:59PM each night. Schedule will be available online for viewing and printing reservation.

Reservations are mandatory for all residents and guests at all times.

Playing time per court reservation will be 1 hour in duration, change on the hour.

Prime time reservations shall be as follows1. Monday through Friday, 5:00PM-9:00PM (4 one hour

sessions)2. Saturday and Sunday 7AM-12NOON (5 one hour

sessions)Daily court reservation schedules to be posted at or near tennis

court gate, whenever possible. Resident player should have copy of his/her reservation in hand for verification.

The Recipe BoxStrawberry Delight Salad or Dessert

1 (6 oz.) pkg. strawberry gelatin

1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple, (drained)

1 c. boiling water2 (12 oz.) pkgs. frozen, sliced

strawberries, thawed1 c. coarsely chopped nuts1 c. sour cream3 med. bananas, mashed1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese

In a large bowl: stir gelatin in boiling water until dissolved. Add strawberries with juice, drained pineapple, bananas and nuts. Pour ½ mixture into 12x8x2 inch container. Refrigerate until firm. Soften cream cheese, and combine with sour cream. Spread evenly over chilled layer; gently spoon on remaining half of strawberry mixture. Chill. Cut into squares and serve on lettuce leaf if desired.

Don’t leave your pet and don’t use your pet as an excuse not to evacuate. Don’t put yourself, your family, and your pet at risk! You are responsible for planning for your pet. If you are ordered to evacuate, take your Pet Survival Kit if you go to friends, relatives or a hotel. Unless there are pet-friendly shelters in your county, shelters cannot accept pets. As a pet owner, you must plan ahead. Check out your options. For more information call your local SPCA, Animal Control or Humane Society. After the storm has passed, be careful in allowing your pet outdoors. Familiar scents and landmarks may be altered and your pet could easily be confused and become lost. Downed power lines, other animals and insects brought in with high water could present real dangers to your pet. Take care not to allow your pet to consume food or water which may have become contaminated. Nearly 80 percent of pets displaced by a storm are never reunited with their owners.

One way to cut down on evacuation time in an emergency situation is to have critical items and information collected ahead of time and stored in an easily accessible place. The list below is a guide to creating an emergency preparedness kit for your pets. Make sure to include enough for 3 days.

DISASTER PREPAREDNESS CHECKLIST:Identification is imperative: Make sure your pet wears a collar and

I.D. tag with up-to-date information.Vaccinations: All pets should be current on their shots. Keep a copy

of the vaccination records in a sealed/waterproof plastic bag.Sleeping Quarters: Help your animals avoid shattering glass and falling

objects. Don’t place a pet’s bed below windows or shelving.Have Crate Ready: Every animal in your house should have a crate

-- a molded plastic carrying kennel. Familiarize your pet with the crate before disaster strikes.

Check The Yard: Make sure all fencing is secure and all holes and potential escape routes blocked.

Plan Ahead: Identify animal shelters (in case your pet becomes lost), local boarding facilities, veterinarians, motels, and friends or relatives that may temporarily house your pet after a disaster.

Evacuate: If you evacuate, take your pet.• Molded plastic pet carrier with bedding/Sheets (one to cover each carrier)• Two-week supply of pet food/Three-day supply of bottled water• One-month supply of your pet’s regular medications• Non-spill food and water bowls• Cat litter/Cat litter pan/Newspaper /Plastic bags (for pet waste disposal)• Leash/Toys (to keep pets calm) • Blankets• Manual (non-electric) can opener
