Will Facebook Roll Out A New Timeline?

I personally hate the new Facebook timeline,

but what do you know? They are already

thinking about changing it!

It isn’t so much time ago that they decided

the social network needs a face-lift and they

came up with a sort of time highway set in

the middle of the screen with all your activity

pinned to it. Well, I had no other choice but

to get used to it, although to be honest I still hate the Cover thing… don’t you? 

Anyway, this new design update they are thinking about will not remove any Coveroption (thus, it will not make me happy, sigh), neither will it remove the time

highway. Well, it will move it a bit… tiny bit… to the right. 

Facebook places a greater emphasis on messages

Having this time highway moved to the right means that there will be more room for

messages to get through. It seems that I am not the only one who finds it difficult to

read the messages on my friends’ timeline chronologically (I have to keep switching

my view from left – right – left aaand right again and... you get it).

It’s a small change, you might think, but it really makes a big difference. ALL

messaging activity could be MOVED to the left, while the right-hand side of your

profile could be dedicated to other … non-messaging updates (such as Recent

Activity, Friends, Photos, Map, Music, etc.)

(yes, apparently Facebook has an affinity for this country when it comes to testing

On a closer look, though… 

The profile header menu is also subject to modifications

Some of the major differences between now and the (possible) future also regard the

header menu on a user’s profile. The boxes that now show you a preview of your

friends’ photos, friends or maps are replaced by a more… settled version.  

In an attempt to keep your personal information private, the header will no longer

display your marital status / relationship information.

So what you could get from Facebook in the future in what regards the header is:

  Workplace

  Location

  School

and tabs:

  Timeline

  About

  Friends

  Photos

  More: allowing the viewer to see ‘more’ about you – Books, Likes, Notes,

Movies, Maps. Interesting additions are the apps included in this section

(among which Spotify or Foursquare and evidently Instagram).

All in all, I welcome this possible change and I think it will make the social network a

bit more cleaner, clearer and enjoyable. So… would this update be a thumbs up or
