Current State & Issues Bow and arrow hunting is a popular
outdoor activity. An animal fatally shot with an arrow may not drop in place
Injured animals can travel substantial distances, may be difficult to track
Game which has been shot and cannot be found leads to more animal deaths and inefficient hunting
Desired State Wildlife tracking device will be deployed
with shot arrow and detach upon impact Allows a bow hunter to track fleeing target
using handheld device Does not negatively impact the accuracy of
the hunter’s shot Durable and reusable, with long lasting
power source Leads to less wasteful animal deaths in
bow hunting
Project Deliverables Re-attachable tracking device that
connects onto an arrow Handheld device that monitors the location
of the tracking device
Use Scenarios Attaches to wildlife and tracks the location
of it Misses wildlife and tracks location of arrow
Stakeholders Primary Customer: Dr. Eli Saber Faculty Guide: Art North End Users: Bow Hunters Other: Hunting Stores/Distributors, Game
