Wildhorse Messenger - August 2011 1 HORSE WILD HORSE WILD Messenger August 2011 www.WildhorseCommunity.com Volume III, Issue VIII Official Publication of the Wildhorse Homeowners Association BOARD NOTES Due to the severe drought-like conditions affecting Bexar County, and our state as a whole, the ground has been settling in the community. Consequently, there have been numerous leaks developing in our irrigation system. Our handyman has been working hard to identify and repair leaks around the neighborhood. is is a huge task considering that there is well over 3 miles of irrigation system here in Wildhorse. If you happen to see irrigation leaks or water bubbling from under the ground around the community, please report it immediately to publicworks@wildhorsecommunity. com, [email protected], and Spectrum Association Management at (210) 494-0659 during business hours. Not only will you save our precious water from being wasted, but you can save the community money that can be better spent elsewhere. e board has authorized our handyman to begin to remove dead trees along Wildhorse Parkway. e plan is to leave the stumps in the ground at this time and return later in the season to plant new trees. It is just too hot and stressful to plant replacement trees now. e board has also authorized the repair of fences identified in our fence policy. In general, they include fences adjacent to Wildhorse Parkway and its tributaries. ese fences have a horizontal strip connecting adjacent slats (“capped”), and are contiguous with stone pillars. Affected homeowners will be contacted by our property management company to get the necessary approval to enter the property adjoining community-facing fences. Additionally, the gates used to access the walking trail will be repaired or replaced as necessary. Picnic tables at the Sports Park were damaged by vandals earlier this summer. e board has authorized replacement of those tables. Unfortunately, this was a substantial cost to the community. e new tables should be in place in the near future. Please be vigilant about reporting vandals or suspicious activity. During business hours, please contact our Spectrum Association Management office at (210) 494-0659. Otherwise, please report vandalism by calling the Bexar County Sheriff non-emergency number (210) 335-6000. BACK TO SCHOOL BASH SATURDAY, AUGUST 13TH 6:30-8:30PM • SPORTS PARK Please join the Social and Recreation Committees as we celebrate the beginning of school.
