Robbie Jean Wilder Walton, age 81, resident of Somerville and wife of Wayne D. Walton, departed this life Sunday, September 24, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. Walton was born August 2, 1936 in Pontotoc, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Ernest Adron Wilder and the late Helen Florence Pitts Wilder. She received her education in the Ecru School System in Ecru, Mississippi and continued her education at Itawamba Junior College at Fulton, Mississippi. She was married December 29, 1961 to Wayne D. Walton and she was Baptist in faith. Mrs. Walton enjoyed sewing, fishing and was an avid Memphis State basketball fan. She will be remembered for being a wonderful cook, specializing in desserts, and had a passion for caring for her grandchildren.
Mrs. Walton is survived by her husband of 55 years, Wayne D. Walton of Somerville, TN; three daughters, Barbara Jean Tutor (Richard) of Batesville, MS, Anita Gail Mitchell (Dale) of Somerville, TN, Mary Helen Walton of Memphis, TN; her sister, Berma Faye Harkness of Pontotoc, MS; her brother, Ernest Wayne Wilder (Telethia) of Pontotoc, MS; three grandchildren, William Ren Donahoe of Somerville, TN, Kathryn Dale Mitchell of Somerville, TN, Billy Wayne Donahoe (Beth) of Grenada, MS; two great-grandsons, Eli Thomas Donahoe, Cooper Wayne Donahoe; and a host of extended family members and many friends..
The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
