MOCK TRIAL TEAM
COMPETES IN SEMI-FINALS
Woodrow's Mock Trial Team advanced to the DISD Semi-Finals
and competed against the defending state champion team from
Skyline. Despite a strong performance, the Wildcats lost. Team
members include: seniors Nicolette Cueto, Joe Marshall, John
DEBATE TEAM WINSAT TOURNAMENT
Congratulations to the Woodrow Debate team for asuccessful tournament at Molina High School.Frances Desmond and Magdalena Ramirez wonthe Varsity division of the tournament and took home4th and 5th place Varsity speakers. This win hasqualified them for an invitational tournament that willsend the two finalists to New York for the UrbanDebate League Nationals. In the novice division:Jasmine McEwen and Lizan Rangel made it to theNovice Finals which will be decided next month.Wesley Bustamante and Jasmine McEwen broughthome 2nd and 3rd place novice speakers. To date theWoodrow Debate team has advanced to eliminationrounds in every Dallas UDL tournament, and have
consistently brought home top speaker awards. Wayto go Woodrow Debate!

round at the SHPE Regional Science Bowl
held last Saturday at the University of Texas
at Arlington. The SHPE Regional Science
Bowl engages high school students in an
enriching, challenging and competitive
environment to motivate and heighten theirinterest in math and science. The
competition is an intense and fun
"Jeopardy"-style round-robin session
preceding a double-elimination tournament.
Teams, composed of four competitors and
an alternate, are challenged to answer a
range of multiple-choice and short answer
questions in math, chemistry, biology,physics, astronomy, earth science and
general science. Way to go Wildcats!

TEXAS A&M COLLEGE VISITFOR JUNIORS
IN TOP 25% OF CLASS
Visit Texas A&M University. Two charter buses will take
students and a parent from North Texas to Texas A&M U
in College Station from 6:am-8:30pm on Saturday, Feb 20,2010. They leave from their office in Arlington. This is theday the whole school is an open house for prospectivestudents. Get permission forms from counseling office and
return to them. Spaces will fill up quickly!
