A COLLABORATIVE WEBSITE

ØIn the Hawaiian language, Wiki means quick. Wiki Wiki means Quick Quick.

ØIn 1995 Ward Cunningham called his new website "WikiWikiWeb" and it was designed to allow visitors edit its content. This type of website came to be known as a "wiki.”

Ø Six years later, Wikipedia was born.

PRO’S AND CON’S

PRO’S

• Information in one place. Images, videos, ppts, docs, versions.

• Can work on it in ”real” time and both see same work. (use save & continue function).

CON’S

• If working on a document, must copy back to Word.

• Potentially too many emails (if you have lots of users. Can change notification frequency in settings.)
