The Quick Installation Guide will help you to install WU 8702-1N 150Mbps Wireless High Gain USB Adapter, including basic hardware and software installation in Windows XP, as well as configuration of wireless network availability. The Quick Installation bases on establishing an unencrypted wireless network. For detailed instructions, please refer to the User Guide on the Resource CD.
A . H a r d w a r e Instal lat ion
There are two ways to install the Adapter:
1. Plug the Adapter directly to the USB port on your computer.
2. Connect the Adapter and your computer through the USB cable attached in package.
The LED will light up when the Adapter is installed successfully and the PC is on.
B. S o f t w a r e Instal lat ion for W i n d o w s X P 1. Inserí the Resource CD into your CD-ROM drive. Double-click My Computer, and then double-click the CD/DVD drive where the installation CD was
placed. Open WU 8702-1N folder, and double-click Setup.exe. Then you will see Figurel .

2. Follow the step-by-step instructions in the continued prompted screens to complete Installation Program steps.
Note:
1) If Windows XP warns about Windows Logo testing, click Continué Anyway to continué the installation.

The Adapter's tray icón ü ] ] shows the signal strength using color and the received signal strength indication (RSSI). If the icón is i ú ] (green), a wireless
connection has been established. If the icón is l i l i (gray), there is no connection. Follow the steps belowto launch a wireless connection manually.
1. Double-click the icón then the Maxnet Wireless N-Lite Client Utility will appear, you can also run the utility by clicking Start-» All programs -> Maxnet —> Maxnet Wireless N-Lite Client Utility —• Maxnet Wireless N-Lite Client Utility. On the prompted configuration tab page, click the Profile Management, and you will see the next screen (Figure 2).

2. Click Sean on the screen above, and you will see a new screen similar to Figure 3. Click Refresh, then the latest available Network will appear.

3. In the screen above, highlight a network ñame (take test for example) and click Actívate, then you will see the next screen (shown in Figure 4). Enter the Profile Ñame, click OK and you can connect to the network.

4. Then, Figure 8 will appear with many available wireless network choices. You can highlight a network (take test for example) and then click Connect to add to a network.
Note: If you have not installed SP2 for Windows XP, the screens below will not be available.

4. The following screen (shown in Figure 12) will show you available wireless networks. Highlight or right click the one you want to join in, and then clic Connect.

5. To continué, click Connect Anyway. To end the connection, click Cancel.
6. If the connection is successfully established, the following screen will appear. Click Cióse to finish the connection.

F. W P S conf igura t ion
WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) function allows the Adapter to join a wireless network quickly.
If the wireless card supports Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), you can establish a wireless connection between wireless card and router using either Push Button Configuration (PBC) method or PIN method.
First, the WPS software should be installed. Inserí the Resource CD inío your CD-ROM drive. Double-click My Computer, and íhen double-click íhe CD/DVD drive where íhe installation CD was placed. Open WU 8702-1N folder, and double-click WPS.exe. Then you will see Figure 14.

2) Press and hold íhe WPS button on the adapter for 2 or 3 seconds.
