WIFA, traditionally leather and handmade For recreational skaters to international champions. For narrow feet (SS width) to very wide feet ( CC width). The right choice of model and correct fitting are decisive for comfort and for successful performance as the boot should be a natural extension of the foot. Correct fitting is important for all skaters but even more so for the advanced skater. The WIFA philosophy is that skaters of all levels, from beginners to international champions, deserve the best fitting that our boots can give. In case of doubt, we are happy to provide our technical support as we care for the enjoyment and success of our skaters. WIFA SKATE STRUCTURE The Skate Structure (page 2) is a guideline to help you choose the right model. However, age, weight, skating level and the number of training times, must also be taken into consideration. For example, although we recommend a Deluxe Skatec for beginning double jumps this model would not be strong enough for a skater with a weight of more than 50 kg. The Fitting Sheet will provide all the information needed to make the right choice. The Technical Guide provides information for choosing the right model and size, taking measurements, ensuring correct fitting, the mounting of blades and most important - the care and maintenance of boots and blades. Your WIFA dealer can measure the feet of the skater and advise the right size, width and model. The WIFA Fitting Sheet is included in the Technical Guide. Deluxe Boots – special padding throughout The Deluxe padding was made on request of skaters and trainers for better comfort. Most of the skaters are now opting for the Deluxe version for the soft padding and the rolled top. Please read specifications on page 10. Derby Cut or Traditional Cut – your choice For the models Champion, Goldstar, Diamond, both versions are available. Deluxe Skatec, Deluxe Champion, Deluxe Goldstar, Deluxe Diamond are only available with Derby Cut. The other models are Derby or Traditional Cut as shown on the WIFA SKATE STRUCTURE. Please read specifications on page 10. Growing in WIFA WIFA boots are recognised the world over for their excellent quality and long life, and for their range of widths. Orthopedic lasts in 12 widths allow for individual fitting. Many champions have grown up in WIFA starting their first jumps in their Primas and Deluxe Skatecs, changing then to a Deluxe Champion for their first competitions and when reaching international competition level continuing with a stronger Deluxe Goldstar or Deluxe Diamond. WIFA is always happy to give technical support and information about fitting questions, individual problems and solutions or answering your special requests.

Individual Fitting As noted above a skater´s age, weight, height and level of skating, and length and frequency of training times, determine the choice of model. Shoes are built up on a last that gives the shoe its basic shape and ensures the right degree of springing. WIFA uses three different orthopedic lasts in 12 different widths - the Picco, the Reggi and the Ralf. The Picco last is specially designed for children’s feet. Children’s boots are available in 5 widths (SS, S, M, L, LL) and full sizes (24-35) as they need more space for growth. However – as the skater becomes more advanced, there should be less toe space. The Reggi Last (narrower, pointed cap) in 4 widths and the Ralf Last (wider, round cap) in 3 widths, are designed for junior and senior skaters. These boots are available in up to 7 widths, in full and half sizing to provide better fitting. The toe space for competition skaters should not exceed 5 mm. Optimal fitting gives optimal performance! Heat Moldable Leather being a natural product molds itself to the foot. Heat molding allows the boot to fit to the individual shape of the foot, eliminating small pressure points and making the boot more comfortable. All models except for the Prima-Set Hobby can be heat molded and are marked accordingly in the catalogue. Heat molding should only be carried out by a professional. The WIFA Contra can be used to eliminate specific pressure points in the ankle and ball area of the foot. It is impossible to stock every single size, width and colour. The most popular models are usually in stock or available fairly quickly (listed in blue in the catalogue).
