WIDEN HIGHWAY 3 NOW!To the Legislative Assembly of Ontario:Whereas Highway 3 from Windsor to Leamington has long been identified as dangerous and unable to meet growing traffic volumes, andWhereas the widening of this highway passed its Environmental Assessment in 2006, andWhereas the portion of this project from Windsor to west of the Town of Essex has been completed, but the remainder of the project remains stalled, andWhereas there has been a recent announcement of plans to rebuild the roadway, culverts, and lighting and signals along the portion of Highway 3 that has not yet been widenedWe the undersigned petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as follows:To revisit plans to rebuild Highway 3 from Essex to Leamington and direct those funds to the timely completion of the already approved widening of this important roadway in Essex County.
