WIB l HighlightsWomen In Bio at the BIO International ConventionWIB hosts a Gala, a premier event for WIB members and supporters, at the BIO International Convention. WIB also hosts Meet-Ups, panel sessions, luncheons, and other forward-thinking events throughout BIO that bring together change agents in the life sciences.

Young Women In BioThis inspiring WIB program organizes science events for middle-school girls introducing them to careers in the life sciences. WIB partners with biotech companies to open their doors and allow the enthusiastic girls to learn the science and business of their company operations.

WIB Professional Development & Educational SeriesWIB regularly hosts workshops, seminar and webinars that are available online. Members build skills and competencies for professional development and career satisfaction.

Women In Bio ScholarshipEach year, scholarships are awarded to WIB members to advance the educational development of women in the life sciences industry by encouraging and supporting education on the business aspects of life science. The money can be applied towards workshops, conferences, courses, seminars and other similar educational programs. Recipients are announced and presented at their local chapter’s holiday party.

WIB l CommitteesWomen In Bio committees support the professional and personal growth of WIB members and the organization as a whole.

Communications CommitteePromotes the over arching strategic plan of the WIB organization by developing and delivering timely, predictable, and professional communications in support of WIB committees and activities.

Funding CommitteeContacts potential sponsors and identifies grant opportunities. WIB isa growing organization with many opportunities for sponsors.

Program (Events) CommitteePlans and carries out numerous local events. Also includes Young Women In Bio events, programs designed to encourage middle school girls to consider careers in bioscience.

Young Women In BioPrograms are designed to encourage girls in middle schoolto learn about careers in the bioscience industry.

Membership Benefits CommitteeBuilds and maintains the WIB membership by coordinating membership-related activities at events and interacting with individuals interested in joining WIB.

Mentors, Advisors, Peers (MAP) CommitteeThe MAP program is a group peer-mentoring program consisting of like-minded women and experts who meet in a casual setting to discuss relevant issues. The discussions are open and typically focus on building skills and knowledge.

Executive Leadership Development CommitteeDedicated to supporting executive women looking to advance professionally by offering a Board Placement Program. This will advance the contribution and visibility of women in boardrooms around the country.
