Marwa Why we choose our actors: Bertie Brown: Lucas is a male character which defeats the persona of boys being tough, sometimes big built (depending on the person) and able to maintain self control, therefore we chose Bertie to play this character as we know him on a personal level (Hana) as well as the fact he has acted leading roles in the past before so we knew he was a good actor. He fits into the vision of Lucas we had in mind E.G. aged 16-17, casual looking, vulnerable, have blue eyes, medium long hair etc. Auntie Jan (Jantra Bradford): we chose Auntie Jan to be the therapist as we needed an older person who has knowledge within the field of psychology, as Jantra did a degree in psychology we thought she would fit the role in that sense. As well as having Psychological knowledge the therapist had to be caring and selfless which she is so suited the role perfectly. We wanted the therapist to be at least 15 years or more than the actor to create realism within our opening sequence. Jantra has in the past been in a trailer, which had been successful within last year’s class. Sumana Asgar: Sumana was going to be the therapist in our opening sequence, we decided no to use her as she is the same age as the Actor which would have made the opening sequence look unrealistic. Although Sumana had the traits we wanted for our therapist she didn’t have the knowledge of psychology.
