• It is the brightest, busiest, loudest places in New York maybe even the world.
• There are tons of hotels, restaurants, shops, television studios and other fun things!
• It is often called the “centerpiece of the world.”

• Millions of visitors visit the Square each day.• There is a lot of diversity that you can find
there. Tourists, shop owners, employees, Broadway stars and street performers.
History of the Square?
• ABC News and The New York Times (hence the name “Times”), are all located here and other news outlets hail here.
• Was orginally called “Longacre Square.”• New York Times moved their headquarters to
the square in 1904, the name changed to “Times Square”
• Many companies bought billboards and neon signs to advertise.
