Indian Politics and Indian Politician

But there is nothing mentioned as qualifications for an Indian Politician. Because of

that we are facing the criminalization of polictics and politicization of criminals. And

we need the electoral reforms and more power should be given to the Election

Commision of India.

The above said reforms should be brought with the amendments in the IndianConstitution from the support of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

Many politicians in India today do not know many schedules in the Indian Constitution

and the operational procedures of the lower house and the upper house of the

Parliament and many of them are uneducated. They don’t even know how many

Ministries are there and the details of the functioning of the Indian Government

Machinery and the hierarchy. There are lots of books are available for the ‘Indian

Administration’ in the libraries and book stores. They don’t even have the time to sitand study what are administration and the background of Indian Adminstration and its

history from ‘Kautilyas’s Artha Sasthra’ or ‘Bhagavat Gita’ and how it is evolved.

Indian Adminstration follows the British Parliamentary form of Administration with

President as the Supreme equal to King or Queen assisted by the Prime Minister and









the Council Of Ministers(There is no mentioning of Cabinet or Kitchen Cabinet) In the

Indian Constitution.

But most of the power rests with the Prime Minister and his Cabinet Colleagues. The

Indian President simply acts as a rubber stamp for the PM and the Cabinet. The Indian

President has very less powers compared to his or her’s American and RussianCounterparts.

There is no proper training available for an Indian Politician and most of the time is

wasted in quarrels and fights in the parliament, both in Lower House and in Upper

House. Common People’s money is wasted in the functioning of the parliament.

Constitution of India is the bible for the functioning of the three arms of the Indian

Government i.e. Legislature, Executive and the Judiciary and it gives the path for

the fourth estate that is Mass Media and News Papers. Since the Fourth Estate gives

the evidence for many Public Interest Litigation cases and Writs filed in High Courtsand the Supreme Court they should function well in any democracy.

Because of the above said scenario, due to many social, political, economic and

defense issues we need a strong leadership in India that is the Prime Minister.
