Where do the PN minerals come from?

The nutrients that make up our PN Minerals are from a combination of mineral rich palagonite basalt deposits, humic shaleextracts and concentrated kelp compounds, colloidal dolomite, natural gypsum, and rock phosphate.

Our palagonite basalt minerals are high in a broad spectrum of minerals from unleached rich deposits in the Upper reachesof the beautiful Lockyer Valley in Queensland Australia.

The Lockyer Valley is known as one of the most nutrient rich valleys in the world. It’s these minerals in the mountains over-looking this valley that have made the soils in the valley so fertile and have produced, and keep producing hundreds andthousand of tonnes of fresh produce for many years.

The Mining Process The palagonite basalt minerals are selectively mined and screened through modern processing facilities understrict environmental controls to ensure that the surrounding environment is left in it original pristine condition.Care is taken to ensure the minerals are of the highest quality and sized for the next process

The raw Palagonite Basalt Minerals are loaded on to trucks and transported to a contract manufacturing facility for further processing

The Mineral Process At the processing facility the palagonite minerals are processed. Other minerals like colloidal dolomite, rockphosphate and gypsum are blended with the basalt minerals to lift certain mineral levels (calcium, phosphatemagnesium and sulphur) just to name a few. The blend of now rich nutrient is ready to be granulated into an easyto use product for modern farming systems. On the way through the granulating process further liquid mineralsfrom humic shale and concentrated kelp extracts containing other beneficial compounds are added as microbialstimulates to stimulate nutrient uptake. The minerals are now ready to go through the drying process.

The Drying Process The drying process has more benefits than just drying the product.

Through the granulating and drying process of the minerals natural chemical reactions are taking place and makethe nutrients become more readily available in the soil. The heat process for drying reaches up to 400 degrees andhelps to release locked up ions making the minerals and trace minerals easer to break down into small particlesand through microbial actions enter the soil water solution for nutrient uptake.

The minerals are conveyed to storage bays for cooling ready the be transported as bulk product or to be bagged in 1 tone Bulka bags or pallet lots 25 kg bags

Palagonite‘Polagonite’ is a natural soil conditioner that was created through a rare geological process that involved the interactionbetween water and hot flowing basalt lava. With our Polagonite the water was from a fresh water lake in which underlyingdiatomaceous earth had recently accumulated. The quenched lava formed rinds of volcanic glass that over time weredevitrified to amorphous compounds and non-swelling smectite clay. This process is called palagonisation and the chemicalcharacteristics of the alteration products produced by this process are particularly exciting for their potential applications inagriculture and horticultureThe benefits of polagonite as a soil conditioner include:-

A high cation exchange capacity Stimulates micro-organisms Has paramagnetic values Has a pH of 8 to 8.5 having a liming effect Has a very high water holding capacity Contains minerals and trace elements Energy transfer

Minerals tested for but in Palagonite are not limited tothe following:-

The largely amorphous composition of this Palagonite, has resultedin a product that is both a supplier and retainerof plant available nutrients. The Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) of asoil is a measure of its ability to retain both nutrients and water anddeliver them back to the soil. It is closely related to fertility and is ameasure of the number of exchangeable cations per dry weight thata soil is capable of holding.

This mostly reflects the smectite clay component of the material. This smectite clay content also enhances the water holding capacityin the soil.

Palagonite also has a PH balancing effect. It has a pH of around 8 to8.5. When placed in the soil has a liming effect on the soil, reducingacidity. When in Alkaline soils the kelp hormones and microbialstimulants help plant to release hydrogen ions helping to adjust thepH around the root zone stimulate microbes and release nutrients.

Kelp Concentrate

Ascophyllum is harvested by collecting from either the rocky shores or using a type of dredge or seine to catch it. It iswashed with fresh water to rid it of excess sea salt, dried, powdered and concentrated and shipped to PN for processing intoour minerals. It is very important that the KELP is harvest at just the right time to ensure that the cytokinin levels are at theirpeak (cytokinins are growth hormones responsible for cell division in plants). This Kelp contains many wonderful things such as over 70 minerals and trace elements, growth hormones, vitamins, enzymes, and proteins.

The kelp used in the PN Minerals is a kelp that grows in the cold Canadian waters of the Atlantic Ocean, it is calledAscophyllum Nodosum. There are many kelps that have great benefits for agriculture but this particular kelp has theingredients needed for our PN Mineral formula. Kelp can help germinate seeds quicker, encourage rooting, build immunity, add more colour and flavour. Give a longer shelf life, produce more and larger buds and flowers, counter any nutrientdeficiencies, and fight off insects and disease.

The second important and perhaps the most important aspect of kelp is the growth hormones. Kelp contains amplequantities of auxins, gibberellins, and cytokinins. All growth hormones play a part in how a plant functions, and are moreaccurately called growth regulators. Kelp has very high amounts of a particular hormone, cytokinin. Cytokinins areresponsible for cell division, cell enlargement, differentiation of cells, development of chloroplasts as well as a delay in aging.

Auxins:Auxins are produced in significant quantities in the upper growth regions of plants, promoting cell elongation. It travels fromthe shoot tip to the base when the plant is actively growing. It plays a role in the formation of plant roots.

Cytokinins:Cytokinins are produced in the plant's roots and move upwards through the plant to the growing tips. As the roots systemgrows larger, it produces more cytokinins, which in turn, signals the plant to grow and branch more. As the plant continuesto grow and branch, it produces more auxin in the growing points. Remember auxin influences root development, so theplant grows more roots, producing more cytokinin, etc. Less cytokinin with more auxin signals root growth. More cytokinin, less auxin triggers more shoot growth.

Gibberellins:Giberellins are produced by the roots and growing leaves. It promotes cell elongation and cell division. In seeds, it isactivated by water and helps to break seed dormancy leading to germination. Some plants such as lettuce, in hightemperature will "bolt" growing an upright seed stock, this can be attributed to an abundance of gibberellins.

Other NutrientsDolomiteDolomite differs from Lime and and Limestone in that it contains magnesium as well ascalcium. It is used to supply both of these elements and is a very effective neutralizingagent. True Dolomite is sourced from rock and requires crushing and screening in order tobe used in agriculture or industry. It is a carbonate limestone type product that shouldcontain between 8-12% Magnesium as Mg and 18-22% Calcium and less than 0.2%Sodium. The dolomite used in the PN Minerals. Also contains a plant based trace mineralsadding to the broad spectrum of nutrients already in the mineral blend.

Rock phosphate Rock phosphate has long been used as a fertilizer for healthy plant growth, but exactlywhat is rock phosphate and what does it do for plants? Rock phosphate, or phosphorite, ismined from hardened clay deposits that contain phosphorus and is used to make organicphosphate fertilizers. Rock phosphate deliver a supply of phosphorus, calcium and othertrace minerals helping with crop growth. Natural rock phosphate has not been treatedwith chemicals to may products superphosphate etc. This mean that the product is on thesoil eco system and microbial life in the soil making the phosphate supplied more readilyavailable to enter the soil solution as plant nutrients. ©Paradise Nutrients 2016

Humic Shale Minerals

Paradise Nutrients Soil Conditioner contains concentratedhumic shale minerals. These humic shale minerals have beenmined from deposits of plant derived shale containing Over 75plant derived minerals. The shale is mined and taken to bigvats where a special leaching process takes place. The Mineralscollected from this mineral rich shale is 98.99% pure mineraland when added to the PN Minerals enhances it making it oneof the worlds richest broad spectrum Ag Mineral products.Humic shale not only contains minerals but also contains a richsupply of enzymes. Amino acids and oxygen. The minerals alsocontain a powerful amount of energy. This is important forgermination.
