Why Obama Should Resign

bamashocked the USA in 2008, when he won the presidential

election against Senator John McCain. It was a momentthat almost all Americans could take pride in. Here was aman who had gone to Harvard, authored several books,became a senator and spoke at my high school. Now he

was at Grant Park and won the election. I was extremely glad I voted for him, and liked to think that a part of his

victory was thanks to my vote.

We are now at a much different moment in history, inthe year 2013. It’s the end of September and it looks likethere will be another government shutdown. The media ispainting this like it’s the end of the world. There is astalemate between the dems and reps and neither one

wants to compromise. I would, under many other

circumstances be irked by this forthcoming. I’d be nervousabout what this means, but the economy is bad and so badthat I don’t think it could get much worse.

I learned an important lesson in kindergarten, it wasthat you can’t take what isn’t yours. You can share, but if you take what isn’t yours that’s called stealing. Why do Iget the feeling these days that the government is stealing my money? Is it because it’s true? Stealing is related tofiscal responsibility. Because when you don’t have enoughmoney to afford something, you shouldn’t take out morethan you take in! Yet the we are trillions of dollars in debtright now. And despite Obama’s Ivy -League education he

doesn’t seem to understand the main point of fiscalresponsibility.




he affordable care act is a either abad joke or it’s patently impractical. Let me make tell you

a short story. I hurt my foot recently and went in to thehospital. I was told to go to the emergency room because

that was the only place where I could receive care. It wasan interesting experience, not only because I was asked topay before I received care. I was reminded of having lunchat McDonald’s never mind that this was a hospital I was at,devoid of aromas. The copay was 100 dollars. It’s a lot of money, but it’s something I could afford. I paid if off doing two days of stocking at the local shopping mall.

They took x-rays of my foot and turned out it was fine.

What I would like to take away from this story is thecost of care. If it costs me 100 dollars to get one visit to

the hospital, how the heck am I going to be able to afford what Obama wants us all to spend on Healthcare per year$300? (administrated by the IRS, do I have that right?) It’s

just pathetic that it’s called a tax, though it will formally becalled a fine. I’ll submit to the law that if you park in ahandicap space you have to pay a fine. Fair is fair, but no

way am I going to support a law that frames me as ajailbreaker just because I choose not to agree with it.

Health insurance companies do not need to be run by the government. They make way too much money as it is.

The government is another strong force, and as they say absolute power corrupts; it’s just a poor idea. I don’t carejack that it worked for Romney, federal government is atotally different animal than state government. They should not be mingled. Again, absolute power corrupts.

There is a control in the government called the system of checks and balances, let’s use it.

All joking aside, I have to give Obama a lot of credit forthis slogan. I don’t know if it originated with him or it wasMr. Axelrod’s idea, but it has a ring to it. We were at atough time back in 2008. The elections couldn’t come

soon enough as I recall. We wanted change becauseGeorge Bush wasn’t getting any more popular as presidentin his second term. His poor speech was getting old, atfirst it was funny, now the novelty was gone.

The prospect of Obama turning the economy around was a bright one. Here was a man who had public speaking

down. He had a strong voice and a casual way of communicating that put a lot of people at ease. At the endof Obama’s first term, however, the campaign slogan didn’tmean much. Many people were left wondering, what had

changed? The economy was still in the dumps, thestimulus bill drove up the debt even more, and still thegovernment was spending up a storm. When you keep

spending but never stop, you start to go insane. They say insanity is doing the same thing twice and expecting adifferent result the second time. America has an insanegovernment. My younger brother will probably be paying for the current administration after I’m gone. Meanwhile,the government is living it up.

mean different things to differentpeople. If I had to make a comment about how Obamahandled this, I think he did a very poor job. First, Bidensupported gays marrying, then Obama eventually wentalong with it. One thing that I continually notice aboutObama is he is a man of consensus. He must never haveheard the phrase “fortune favors the bold.”

Any phrase that the president says has an incredibly profound, influential effect. He is many things, thecommander in chief, the leader of the executive branch andthat guy who you would hope you get the chance to see ona White House tour. Beyond that, he is a role model forthe next generation. When he says for example, “X is

good, or X is bad,” we each get the feeling, he’s right so weshould believe X. To make a comment on Gay Marriagelike he did, on an issue that isn’t agreed upon by themajority (who last time I checked were straight and were

interested in straight marriage) there are several things thatcome to mind:

1. Why are you telling me and the rest of thisdemocratic society what to believe?

2. Why are you advocating a lifestyle that is dangerous(that has been linked to AIDs)?

3. Is this really what you meant when you said change?

Obama is obviously self-righteous. As a president, Iimagine you need to be, to some extent. But does thatreally mean that you need to ask me and every other citizento “examine your conscience.” ? Whether it’s about guncontrol or gay marriage, Obama has the right answer,strangely that isn’t the case on his foreign policy decisions.

There’s another question— why does Obama act like a

pushover when he’s confronted by foreign countries, butact uncompromising when he’s addressing the Americanpeople?




xperience is that annoying thing that employers ask for. They want you to have experience in the field, but it goes againstconventional wisdom. If you can never get a job becauseyou don’t have experience, how are you going to getexperience? Catch 22, right?! Obama went to Harvard andlearned about law. He was on the law review and he had a

fine education on all things legal. But a lot of presidentsaren’t just students, senators and authors before they wereelected.

JFK fought in the 2nd war, ditto Eisenhower. They were men who put themselves at the risk of serious injury to defend their country. They may not have known

everything, but they had experience serving their country ina very real way, and the military teaches you very practicalthings that other jobs do not. Discipline, Communication,Commitment and Honor.

Because Obama was never in the military, every important lesson he could have learned in it, he cannot use

as a tool in his toolkit. I’ve heard law school teaches youhow to argue and the finer points of persuasion. I woulddefinitely say that Obama took scrupulous notes on thispart of his education. But business sense, economics, theseare very important subjects to know if you want to run theone country that has some of the best schools in the world.




016 is a long ways away. Three years from now is when the US will see anotherpresident elected. But if Obama resigned today, we

wouldn’t have to wait this long! We need a president who will not spend and spend with borrowed money! We needa president who will be more honest with the Americanpeople. Unemployment is high right now.

I read a career book released about a month ago thatmost Americans who are unemployed have been for a yearor more. This is too long. There are too many regulations.

The Obama Administration has created too many rules andregulations. The era of big government is over. Justbecause China does it doesn’t mean we should (and I

would argue中国 does it to much better effect!).
