Who is speaking English? Approximately 375 million
people speak English as their first language. English is probably the third largest language by number of native speakers, after Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. However, when combining native and non-native speakers it is probably the most commonly spoken language in the world,

English is the primary language in most of the world. It is the official language, or language of special status, in more than 75 countries.
English as a Global Language

The European Union countries are quickly increasing the percentage of English speakers. - - 90% in the Netherlands- 89% in Malta- 86% in Sweden and Denmark- 73% in Cyprus and Austria- 70% in Finland - and over 50% in Greece, Luxembourg,
Slovenia and Germany. - In 2012 38% of Europeans consider that they
can speak English
So, why learn English ? English is the most widely spoken language
in the world.
1 out of 4 people in the world speak with some level of competence.
The demand from the other three-quarters is increasing.
