Why it’s good to enjoy mathematics in discussions of all types: Communicating mathematics to a non-mathematicians helps non-mathematically minded people: 1. Begin training for STEM careers 2. Understand underlying mathematical concepts in business activities or government policy reforms A good mathematical model honestly described is useful because: 1. Having mathematical models in a complicated situation highlights and clarifies problematic areas in situations that were previously only described in adjectives. 2. This model can help to provide a reality check by allowing for careful estimates and descriptions of troublesome and/or controversial topics, can address where the current limitations lie and point to where more work is needed, can be used to run computer simulations to demonstrate outcomes for what-if scenarios of all types. My basic skill set: 1. I like to assist people who felt traumatized when learning mathematics previously begin to enjoy mathematics. 2. I like to imagine non-standard solutions and suggest new ways of approaching a problem using technology: For example, during 2014 - 2015, I suggested that a way to avoid crises is by developing preventative analytics for the specific crisis area, a way to efficiently restore damaged areas is by using restorative analytics, a way to improve computer/internet security is by considering a stochastic dynamics based cryptography methodology. I enjoy working on many different types of problems. Complicated and seemingly impossible scenarios interest me.
