Standard #9: Professional Learning and Ethical Practice The teacher engages in ongoing professional learning and uses evidence to continually evaluate his/her practice, particularly the effects of his/her choices and actions on others (learners, families, other professionals, and the community), and adapts practice to meet the needs of each learner.

Brief description: For this assignment, I developed a PowerPoint on why I want to teach. This includes reasons for wanting to teach, traits of an effective teacher, educational philosophy, student’s characteristics, community characteristics, contributions to the profession, and teacher quotes.

Rationale: To document my understanding of Standard #9, Planning for Instruction, I selected to include Why I want to teach PowerPoint because this assignment demonstrates my ability to evaluate the effects my choices and actions will have on others. This assignment demonstrates my ability to use my past an d present learning experiences and tell how they will effect my future.
